Oh-Zee, I wasnt going to waste time going through the Lua code, im pretty sure it was naming conventions that was the culprit but be sure that there was definately a problem in there, I have rebuilt the Skin from a similar skin and it works perfectly now, I will send you a link via PM to the skin.

Ive done a quick job on this and have come up with these edits, the only problem with the texture is that the Visor Slide area on the centre front of the helmut is very wide and makes it very hard to seperate for smooth clean edges. There is also no Visor cover. I have two examples you can have which ever one you want, one with both sides seperated like the real one, except with the unavoidable large gap, or the joined version which looks a bit crappy in my opinion. I have also given him an orange May West and found an Arm Patch. I Hope you like. Let me know then Il publish it.

yes mate, just use the default size :thumbup: Il have a play with the skin over the next day or so and try and find what the problem is, generally I paint a layer over , but I dont see why changing the hue should not work. Il get back to you asap.

You mispelled "diff" it has 2 "F's". All the lines had "dif" I also gave it a country - the US. Also You spelled "Rebel" wrong. Other than that all good. No worries Baco, anytime, it had me puzzled so I went back to basics like you.

There were a couple of small naming errors. So I re-did the Lua from a working skin similar to this one, I also renamed the ARA name abbreviation to Arma, just on the irrational inkling that maybe the name itself could have been the problem. It works now, and the OP can look at it and edit as required.

If I edited the image the old fashioned way I would use DXTBmp, which is a free program you can find on line, the following: 1. Open the image with DXTBmp and convert it to a 24 Bit BMP image, then edit it. 2. Once happy with the image I would use DXTBmp and save the image as a DDS using the DDS DXT5 setting. Always worked for me. I now use Photoshop and it has a DDS plug in and I save the image on the DXT5 ARGB 8 bpp | interpolated alpha setting. This works for me. Proper Graphics artists may differ and I may be wrong but this is how I have always done it. As for Gimp settings, im sorry I cant help there, but I presume you would have access to DDS conversion pluggins and DXT 5 would be the one I would choose.

Like Joey said "Trial and error", but also for what you have on the A-10 above you usually have to hand draw the cam patterns, and that takes a little bit of time to line up with the other parts as well. Placing already textured cam overlays over the model doesnt work as you can see from your pictures obove. Study the templates and make a type of guide using colours and numbers that help you align your texturing. (example below) Really texturing is all about trial and error and learning as you go. Research the threads on this and other forums and if your serious get good software, ie Photoshop etc. Learn how to use model viewers , as you have obviously and research the plane or object you want to texture.

I dont fly sim aircraft in DCS to be reminded of the petty and absurd, I fly it because its my special escape from the droll and everyday crap that regularly comes up in this over serviced, over accomodating, politically correct world that thrives on victimhood and idiotic motherhood statements. If you can mod and do this fair enough go for it. But otherwise Im for keeping the cheap politics and PC crap out of our sim. Im sure there are plenty of other electronic diversions that can accomodate this line of thought, no matter how gender challenged or racially confused our pixel pilots are. Thanks

I have just posted this skin in ED user files it will be activated ASAP . This skin was made by the Team that made the Community A-4E-C Mod. I am not part of that team or was asked to edit this skin, I did this edit / fix on my own. I however contacted Merker and he suggested I upload this to ED User Files. This skin has been edited by me, Strut, only to rectify the incorrect facing of the roundel underneath the left wing on the mods original texture. The rest of the aircraft has not been edited by me, it is as original as it came with the mod. I have renamed the skin for purposes of uploading my edit as an Individual skin and not to confuse the Community A-4E-C Mod with this skin. I wish to congratulate the team of people that made this great mod, thankyou.

I messaged with Uboats and he said he cant help at the moment because of the technical aspects , but he also said that it would be great if ED added a similar feature into the Model Viewer. Now that would be a great advancement for us.
