  3. Great skin Rick, whats next ?
  4. This is a rebuild of the original ive done a couple of years ago. Ive been busy fiddling with the RoughMets thanks to SkateZilla's guide and also some encouragement from Robert, so this is where im at right now. My interpretation so far is that im making it a bit more shiny and a couple of "Decals" placed in different positions for expediency: The Original: Mine:
  5. Great results Rick, maybe a little grainy ? looking forward to seeing the end result.

  17. Slow 0 to 1.5 mb for the last patch for 2.5 on 7 Feb , normally 4 to 5 mb with max clients.
  18. @ Badanimal - The 80% seems about right mate, maybe a tad slow but pretty good, anyway thanks for your enthusiam and looking into this and putting out a mod to fix it..
  19. Thanks Bananimal and Pedro!
  20. Thanks all ! @ Mr Mojo - Bader had a couple of Spits, the one you refer to was a Spitfire IIa , this one i have skinned he upgraded into was a Va , it was the one he was shot down in over France. This link might be helpul : http://www.worldnavalships.com/directory/aircrewprofile.php?AircrewID=11 The aircraft you have a picture of is P7966 it was one of the first to carry Wing Commander Douglas Bader’s initials on the fuselage – it was also a Presentation Spitfire from the Manx Public, wearing the legend ‘Manxman’ in 4’’ high yellow letters, below the cockpit on its starboard side. It was built as a MkIIa, at Vickers-Armstrongs Castle Bromwich Factory and delivered to 45 Maintenance Unit on 24th February, 1941. Then it was issued to 616 Squadron as part of the Tangmere Wing on 23rd March, 1941, where it was flown by Wing Commander Douglas Bader up to July 1941 and remained with 616 Squadron until August 1941. Bader upgraded to the one i have skinned which is a Mk Va Spitfire, numbered W3185, the aircraft that Douglas Bader bailed out of over France in August 1941 also named as Lord Lloyd I. He also flew Hurricanes.
  21. Group Captain Sir Douglas Bader, CBE DSO & Bar, DFC & Bar, FRAeS, DL; (21 February 1910 – 5 September 1982) was a flying ace of the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. He was credited with 22 aerial victories, four shared victories, six probables, one shared probable and 11 enemy aircraft damaged. Due to an accident before the war he lost his legs in a crash conducting aerobatics. W3185 was an early Mk.Va ,probably converted from Mk.I RAF, Wing Commander (Flying) Douglas Bader's Spitfire Mk Va, coded D-B / W3185. As a Wing Commander's prerogative his initials D-B was used on his plane. This Spitfire was used in RAF Sqn. 616, Tangmere, which was shot down in 1941 and he was subsequently taken prisoner. RAF Tangmere Wing consisted of Sqn 145, 610 and 616. Im also surprised that this skin has never been done for DCS ( not to my knowledge anyway). NOTE: Whether the “Kicking Hitler” insignia was used on his Spitfire is debatable ( probably unlikely), I have seen it on many models and skins from other sims, but with a bit of licence I have added it and “Lord Lloyd I”. Updated pictures (Below) and the skins have been updated to RoughMet/PBR textures as at 17 April 2018. You can download all my Spitfire skins here >>>> https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.c..._filter=Filte
