  1. The chart have the altitude and the speed of the launching aircraft? The problem to model any missile is that we have online the max speed that the ER can reach that is 4.5 mach and a N distance, but you dont find the parameters of speed and altitude of the test!
  2. Labour hour for me at 20z! :pilotfly: my only tactic will be to destroy as many ground units I can! :D I cant see a damn F-5 more than 400 meters away even with max zoom!
  3. The N001/N019 are considered older from our perspective now, but the russian already knew all about blind speed and doppler dilemma a while ago!, and it's supposed that the SU-27S/MIG-29 radar variant simulated in DCS is from late 80s or early 90s.
  4. =EDP 71st= Rush EDP 71st Cuba-Mexico SU-25T
  5. Is not that easy! :D try it against the guys of the 104th!
  6. Love the Quake II "Quad Machine" OST :D
  7. HELLREQUIEM Mexico MIG-21bis Lonewolf
  8. We have tested the missile speed and ranges at high altitude, and the speed is close to reality, the R-27ER reach 4.5 mach, the AIM-120 mach 4.0, etc (calculated in base of the Altitude MSL, these calculations are based on the International Standard Atmosphere (ISA) & U.S. Standard Atmosphere of 1976). The range is another thing, sometimes the missile guidance begin maneuvering from the very beginning bleeding speed, and in other cases the drag coefficient lower the speed before reach the manufacturer range distance (there is not enough online info about all missiles of DCS)
  9. Change to F-15!, you can do the same and the aircraft never breaks! :D
  10. The problem is that the US military until 1985 knew everything about Russian radars, EM emissions frequencies, telemetry, radio guidance, etc due a Russian engineer that gave all the classified information to the CIA. In fact DCS is close to reality for the mid 80s russian aircraft radars, warning to the US aircraft about the lock and missile launch in the Russian platforms, another thing is for russian aircrafts after 1990 The only thing I dont like is that the MIG-29S Rubin radar have the same behavior than the SU-27 ones in DCS, and is not real because the Rubin was updated inmediately after the Spy information release. "The N019 was further compromised by Phazotron designer Adolf Tolkachev’s betrayal of the radar to the CIA, for which he was executed in 1986. In response to all of these problems, the Soviets hastily developed a modified N019M Topaz radar for the upgraded MiG-29S aircraft. However, VVS was reportedly still not satisfied with the performance of the system and demanded another upgrade. The latest upgraded aircraft offered the N010 Zhuk-M, which has a planar array antenna rather than a dish, improving range, and a much superior processing ability, with multiple-target engagement capability and compatibility with the Vympel R-77 (or RVV-AE). Most MiG-29 continue to use the analog N019 or N019M radar, VVS has indicated its desire to upgrade all MiG-29s to a fully digital system"
  11. The problem with the HUD distance is real, that have to be fixed by FD. But what you notice? bad resolution to the landscape in front of you? Remember the CV1 have 2160 x 1200 resolution (90Hz refresh), so the DCS software have to split in two (side by side) the game resolution whatever you have in game and compress to the headset resolution, I think is better to reduce the resolution in game, to make the redering faster in your Headset.
  12. What VR are you using? Rift, Vive, Google, Steam? What resolution are you using in game? I have an Homido VR with Samsung Note 5 smartphone, I think the worst is the resolution and refresh rate, and indeed, the HUD reflection looks farther than the glass where is projected
  13. And the discussion about R-77 has not started yet! :D
  14. If someone want to make the maths, take the CAD or 3D Studio Max's DCS missiles models (or design yours based in the designer data available online) and put them in this wind tunnel simulators. http://www.aerorocket.com/AeroCFD/Instructions.html http://microcfd.com/3d.htm http://www.qualitysimulations.com/rcs/manual.php https://www.grc.nasa.gov/www/k-12/TunnelSim/index.htm
  15. in this case you didnt know where the enemy was until you enabled the labels, that gaves you a clue of where was, one pixel in the middle of the HUD dirt is not visible at all, even with labels, try to find him over terrain! Most of F-5 players now this "feature", and always fly close to deck where they are invisible not only for the eye but for the mig-21 radar. Test this, fly in the Fishbed vs Tiger server with a MIG-21 (both sides have EWR), and try to shot down the guys flying F-5E there, you will see the roster, are many to few kills favorable to F-5
  16. Is not exactly as you say, it depends of the game's designer and the quantity of objects, decals and textures he implemented in the aircraft design, if you recall, in the first days of the MIG-21bis the game took a while uploading the model, and was that leatherneck design had an extreme quality and too much objects and decals, they had to reduce later the amount to make the aircraft flyable, in the same way when you design an aircraft there are objects that are rendering for different distances and another not, this happens from the client side of the game (the graphic engine), making the game to render only the decals or objects neccesary in base of the distance. This second video is full 1080p, with full zoom in the game, the only thing you will see of the F_5 is a smoke trail in the distance one moment and nothing else until he is very close to you. 17. I still thinking that the DCS F-5E model is far from reality, it's not visible above 800 meters away (just a pixel). IRL I can see the F-5 about 3 miles or more far. Watch the video. DCzytea4Hyg
  18. Yeah could be an earlier version of SMT
  19. And the ABRIS style of map like Ka-50, this is a MIG-29M2
  20. This is a picture of the new MFD functions including the L-150 Pastel of Venezuelan SU-30MK2 In the MIG-29SMT, you can have both, the new variante of RWR and the original from the SPO-15
  21. In reality the SPO-15 of DCS is simplified, the real leds are different IRL, read below from a post I wrote a while ago: I was reading the real SU-27SK manual and found a serie of differences, but the most important was about the SPO-15 threat type warning lights, in the DCS SU-27 and FC3 DCS manuals it appear like below: Threats types: П – airborne radar З - long-range radar X - medium-range radar H - short-range radar F - early warning radar C - AWACS but in the SU-27SK manual, is more complex, and it's not that simple to delimit the air and ground targets: SPO-15LM П – irradiation from SAMs "Terrier" or aircraft type F-4, F-104 with simultaneous inclusion of spike for aiming "Sparrow" missile З – irradiation type SAM "Chaparral", "Vulcan" or naval SAM "Sea Wolf" X – irradiation of SAMs like "Hawk" or aircraft type F-14, F-15, F-16 and F-18 (long-range) Н – irradiation SAM type "Nike Hercules," "Patriot," or naval "Talos"; Г – exposure to short distance of the aircraft F-14, F-15, F-16 and F-18 or missile "Phoenix" in ARH (possibly flashing signals Г together with the X) С – irradiation aircraft type F-4, F-5, F-104, F-111 (without including the illumination channel П), Mirage, Jaguar, nails of SAM type "Terrier", "Crotale" Original: П – облучение ЗРК «Терьер» или самолетами типа F-4, F-104 с одновременным включением подсвета для наведения ракет типа «Спарроу»; З – облучение ЗРК типа «Чапарел», «Вулкан» или ЗРК «Сивульф»; X – облучение ЗРК типа «Хок» или самолетами F-14, F-15, F-16 и F-18 (с больших дальностей); Н – облучение ЗРК типа «Найк-Геркулес», «Патриот», «Талос»; Г – облучение с малых дальностей самолета F-14, F-15, F-16 и F-18 или ракетой «Феникс» с РТС (возможно высвечивание сигнала Г совместно с сигналом X); С – облучение самолетами типа F-4, F-5, F-104, F-111 (без включения канала подсвета), МИРАЖ, ЯГУАР, ЛАЙТНИНГ или ЗРК типа "Терьер", "Кроталь", In this case the FC3 SPO RWR were designed to give a more easy way to deal with it?
  22. yeah, disgusting! :(
  23. I think that realism is more important if we want to fly a simulator, if I want balance then will fly IL-2 or another WWII sim
  24. The ER/ET should enter in Soviet service about 1989, in the same time Cuba received the R-27R/T and R-73 with the MIG-29A (I was in the Command Staff of the Cuban Army Forces then), thats why the russian already had the ER/ET in their airforce and the R-77 already develop by the end of the 80s. Meanwhile the AIM-120B entered in service in 1994 and the C in 1996 AFAIK. What I've been asking to ED is to change the way the MIG-29S use the TWS system and solution fire for their dual shot mode of the R-77, IRL they cant LOCK at all to launch two missiles to two different targets, they should use volumetric narrow scan without lock (like the F-15 TWS).
  25. Thanks Mav, but anyway, the R-3R is a waste, few pilots can achieve a kill with it in the Fishbed vs Tiger server, mostly against inexpert F-5 pilots
