  1. I have to laugh at the amount of self entitled people who seems to not understand the concepts of pre-purchase and early access modules. There is one simple solution to all of you... Simply stop buying anything that is not available yet. Simple as that. You can focus on other things, instead of agonizing over any delays that might come up due to whatever factors that come up during testing. They are still tuning the flightmodel of the apache after inputs from the SME's. It's not just features that needs to be completed. No matter what ED had done it would be complaints. - No date on STEAM, would mean no ability for any steamuser to do a pre-purchase, and you would have had people complaining about that. Now instead, people are treating the date on Steam as promised release date. - Release now, and they would have the same problems as with the viper-launch. Instead they are pushing the date, to make the module as feature complete as possible at launch. - Not said anything after the tease in 2021 and beyond video. Then you would have people complaining about lack of communication about the project. Instead we have had pretty good videos about the progress and status of the project. But now we have people arguing for a "BETA" version until the early access is ready. So no matter what ED does or had done, there would be people complaining. And usually it's the same type of people. There's close to 40 other modules to keep us occupied with until this one drops. Relax, and stop spending money on modules that obviously affect your mood and daily life if they get's delayed. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
  2. I don't know, but a as a VR beginner ( Quest 2 ) myself, I feel there is a jungle of settings and options that needs to be set correct to make it work at it's optimal. I use ODT and OTT to tweak my settings myself. And of course the oculus app for the most basic, as refreshrate and resolution. Also make sure you have disabled the oculus home ( 3D home ) when you put your headset on. You don't want your oculus home to run in the background when playing games. It uses resources. If you have fluctuating FPS, it can cause stutters. And I see there are different ways of dealing with it. I only have an RTX 2080 card, but I force ASW on with 30 FPS and 90 Hz refreshrate. You can also go 90 Hz and 45 FPS with ASW on. Or 72 Hz and 36 FPS. Also download this: I have yet to try it, as I am at work now.
  3. First you can do is set your PD on the headset down to 1. Also make sure you have increased your default resolution in the headset itself to max, in the oculus app. Then you can download the track from this thread: Even though it's a thread for the G2 headset, multiple people has used this track to test, myself included. So do a test and let us know your findings. Good luck.
  4. There are plenty of posts about settings if you look/search. But it would help if you posted a screenshot of your settings in game. That way it would be easy to see if there is an obvious reason for you FPS.
  5. "Demo" version as you call it is the early access. EA is already an unfinished product, where you as a customer have the ability to purchase the module at a discount, but with the knowledge that the product will be missing features from the final version and bugs can be expected to some degree. That's also why it is released on the open beta version of DCS first, to iron out any obvious bugs that may have slipped, before it's released on the final build. The "problem" is that some treat open beta as a final build sometimes. Or gotten used to running open beta. So when new modules need some extra love before letting it out in the open beta build, they already forget they are getting the module way earlier then if they would have to wait for a final build release, or module being 100% complete. Anyone purchasing EA modules should be well aware of what they are buying and time of release is not set in stone. Also, diverting resources to push a "demo" build so close to the actual release, just to please some peeps who clearly have not read what EA is about, would be poor management of resources.
  6. I wouldn't expect many mission in the EA version of this module. But I guess with time, as the module matures and missonmakers get their hands on it, I guess we will see some official ones down the road.
  7. Maybe edit your original post, so all essential info is in there and not "hidden" in some reply at a later stage.
  8. I have never used the T50, but I have converted from a TM base with extension, to a WarBRD with no extension. I`m still waiting for my Monstertech chair, but so far I must say that the WarBRD base is miles above the TM base. The smoothness and "feel" of the stick is much better. I can hardly wait for my chair to arrive so I can hook up my collective and stick to it. I have just been messing about now with the stick and keyboard, and I had no problem what so ever in putting the Huey in to a stable hover. This is just with a Warthog stick on the WarBRD base on my desk. No tuning of axes or anything.
  9. Thank you for sharing your findings. Appreciated.
  10. @TED coud you please make a post about your findings with your 6900XT and how you tuned yours for maximum performance? I have yet to pull the trigger on a Nvidia or AMD card. As you said, there is alot of info on Nvidia, but not much on AMD and how to tune the cards for best performance. Also maybe why Nvidia is so popular within DCS. Cheers
  11. Have you gone into devices in your oculus app and changed the resolution? Mine was not at maximum when I first connected mine. Personally for me I have no problem reading the HUD. It's clear as day. Cockpit instruments are quite good as well. Only thing that could be a little better would be the MFD's sometimes. It's okish, but could be better.
  12. How is it performancewise with MSAA at x4?
  13. Yes. I have yet to try it myself. But how I understand it. MSAA in game decides the scale. MFAA on/off decides if it should be MFAAx2 or MSAAx2.
  14. Apparently it "should" increase performance on msaa. MFAAx4 should give close to MSAAx4 quality, but with MSAAx2 performance. It`s what I gather from this. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/geforce-graphics-cards/5/203071/is-mfaa-only-supposed-to-be-used-when-msaa-is-bein/
  15. Well, first you need to be sure your wifi is able to push the data you need to hava a good experience in DCS. I'm running a cable myself as the wifi cover where i have my computer is bad, and I don't want to risk getting jitter and lag If my better half decides to start streaming. Then go into your device and crank up your screen resolution. Set refreshrate to 90 HZ and set ASW to 30. Do not have higher MSAA then 2x. Have SSAA and SSAO or whatever they are called off. They kill fps.
  16. yes, I know about the mod. You are missing the point. vr FSR (or DLSS for that matter) will never offer better clarity then natively running a higher resolution/higher PD. But it's a way of reducing the PD/resolution (less GPU resources needed) and somewhat compensating it with FSR/DLSS. And people can cheer as much as they want for DLSS, but it's still tech that only work on 1 brand of cards, and that's nvidia. FSR works with both nvidia and AMD. An most likely Intel when they come with new cards now. Why do more work, for a solution that only work for 1 brand? When you can do less work, and it will work for all cards. And btw, I own an Nvidia card. But I want to have the freedom to pick whatever card I want next time. Without getting shafted on performance, due to some proprietary tech that excludes everyone without an nvidia card.
  17. Upgraded my entire rig earlier this year, except for the GPU. So currently running 5800X with 32gb ram and multiple M.2 drives. So really just missing a fitting GPU to drive my Quest 2.
  18. Appreciate the feedback @TED. Been sitting on the fence on what GPU to purchase. All Nvidia options are easily 800-1000$ more expensive than a top tier RX6900XT where I live. Personally running a Quest 2 on a RTX2080 atm, and with the AH-64D coming soon, I really want to enjoy it to the full potential.
  19. You can use standalone.
  20. I have used both. Not worth it. Wait for next gen.
  21. Hmm, strange. What do you mean with horrible VR performance? I have my ASW @ 30Hz (set in OTT) and my headset refreshrate @ 90Hz. My framerate is then locked at 30 FPS and seems very very smooth. If I take off ASW and run @speed-of-heatVR settings and his test track I have around 30-40 ish FPS. What is your FPS numbers if you run his track?
  22. It would probably be much easier to implement native support for FSR. As it is possible to have it now via steamVR with a simple free mod. And from the feedback in the VR section of the forums, it seems to give good results. If one man can make a mod work with DCS that easily. An entire graphics team in ED should have little problem implementing it natively. The other massive advantage for FSR, is that it works on ALL cards. Not just AMD, or the newest generation. (Looking at you nvidia) This also makes it much easier to run VR with a less powerful graphicscard. Or crank up GPU dependant options on weaker cards on normal 2D rendering. Theoretically it looks like FSR is a "low hanging fruit" that would benefit everyone playing DCS. AMD cards, Nvidia cards, 2D (monitor) players and VR players. Personally I`m running a 5800X CPU, 32gb ram, M.2 SSD etc. But I`m currently bottlenecked by my RTX 2080. People on similar systems, but with a RX6900XT or RTX 3080Ti/3090 running a standard track-file with identical settings are getting 80-100% higher performance than me in VR. And with the current prices and low avilability, anything that would extend the life of your current videcard would be golden!
  23. Wow, to many serious people here. The post was more for fun, as DCS is known for dropping small bits here and there. That's why I put the laughing smiley there New areas in Syria, that suddenly appeared in a video. New insurgent units placed right next to the apache on some screenshots. Reason I found it interesting was that of all the pictures of the apache, that picture is the only one that had something other than the apache as well. Then I came to think of Virpil`s new collective grip, that is a copy of the UH-60 grip. And thought "hey, that would be cool if we got a proper UH-60 module". Don`t read to much into it.
  24. Upper right part of the picture.... Let the speculation begin
  25. At 24:00 mark, Spudknocker mentions Antialiasing Transparency in the nvidia control panel. And how he turned it off, as it produced a lot of shimmers for him, specially on fences at airfields etc. This is on a monitor, so not sure it applies in VR as well. But worth a try maybe.
