  1. The oxygen issue was fixed almost 2 years ago. And it wasn't anything wrong with the plane. It was a combination of pressure garment and cold weather survival gear worn by pilots. http://articles.ktuu.com/2012-09-22/cold-weather_34045939
  2. But you are using a Pk figure, that range over 4-6 different versions of the same missile. From data that are 14-15 years old. From a guy that had a clear agenda. On a missile that was not even in the US inventory at that time.... Still only one AMRAAM fired ;)
  3. Taken from another forum: And how long is it since an AMRAAM was shot at another plane in a real BVR fight? 14-15 years?
  4. Both yes and no. AIM-120B are from the 90's, deliveries began in 1994. AIM-120C came in 1996, but they have been upgraded multiple times. AIM-120C-7 was tested in 2003 and I believe is the one that is being exported. Which one DCS models I don't know. But there is a big difference in between the different models. There's also the AIM-120D, that came in 2008, but is not yet modeled in DCS World. Small edit: I see Frostie posted that it's the AIM-120C-5. If that's the case, that one came in 2000, so no longer 90's missile.
  5. That's 9 years ago... that's obsolete.
  6. i7 4960X is overkill. DCS does not support multicore properly. i7-4770 or i7-4670 is a better choice. You want the CPU with the best performance in a single thread application. The enthusiast platforms, like sandybridge-E, ivy bridge-e, hashwell-e always comes out a while after the normal range of cpu's has been out. And they normally don't give you any advantage in single thread performance due to using the same architecture but with more memory and more cores and some other minor differences. So a normal hashwell will most likely be faster then the ivy bridge-e in single thread performance. Overclock that bastard and you are way ahead. And if you break it, you can buy a new one, and still around half the price of the 1000$ one :)
  7. Zoom level is the same on both pictures, only difference is that the A-10 is a little closer to the tank columns on the last one. And there are 2 different vehicles. 1 with optimized model and one without. FPS increase is due to less objects on the optimized model = less workload on the CPU.
  8. As it is now, Nvidia is a much better card for DCS. How it will work out after the new gfx engine comes out, we don't know. And there's now such thing as "future proofing" ;) Instead of saying mid range cost, it would be easier if you put a maximum amount you wanna use on a card :) Cheers
  9. You are looking at the wrong object counter. A few lines further up. It says Obj. Some of the screenshots you are showing have over 2000 objects.... That's a lot! Due to how the engine works, every bullet your fire, every piece of a CBU will count as an object and hog down your CPU. How many objects do you have in the same area if you fly in the mission editor? Also remember, some of the 3d models are not optimized. And putting 10 of those, instead of 10 optimized ones can brake the FPS...
  10. Regarding the helmet: Some of you are pulling info that are dated all the way back to 2009. A lot of the original issue are gone. And the latest article I found on the helmet is this one: http://www.f-16.net/news_article4798.html A lot of good info on http://www.f-16.net/

    SLI ?

    I give up :p
  12. TZeer

    SLI ?

One last thing you could try is unplugging your extra monitors while testing single screen setup.
  13. TZeer

    SLI ?

I'm out of ideas right now. You get the SLI working, but only when you do surround. Any single screen setup seem to put your second GPU inactive for some reason.
  14. TZeer

    SLI ?

Running in fullscreen or windowed? Any exports to MFD's? 3d?
  15. TZeer

    SLI ?

Seems your SLI is not working on the first one. Which is strange. What is the setting in your nvidia control panel? Does it say that SLI is enabled? Have you tried with any other games to see if the SLI is working in them with only a single screen running?
  16. TZeer

    SLI ?

Have you tried without surround and compared the difference? SLI vs Non SLI on single screen.
  17. I'll run this when I get back home!

    SLI ?

Are you running mirrors on? Multiple displays?

    SLI ?

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=107551 Have a look in this thread, it might help you understand some of the settings that affect your performance.
  20. I suspect everybody had it, it's just that not everybody noticed it due to already flying with less then optimal FPS.
  21. Example and reference:
  22. Those prices on the F-16's and F/A-18's are optimistic at best. For those interested, there's a longer discussion about it here: http://www.f-16.net/f-16_forum_viewtopic-t-24714-postdays-0-postorder-asc-start-15.html
  23. Aaaah. So the higher up it goes, the less pressure is acting on the nozzle from the outside, easier for the fuel/reaction to exit the nozzle, the quicker it will burn. Simplified of course :D Correct? :)
  24. How so? I guess the temperature could maybe make it change a bit, but not much.
  25. Come to think of something. Since this is a new engine , will the image from our TGP look different?
