  1. Thanks very much for the offer Bart very much appreciated dear fellow
  2. Yes,appreciated Graf but I can take off,fly and land the Spit, yes I went through the same pain as yourself I'm sure, but I've mastered that, with the assistance off,as I have all the other WW2 warbirds......but the Mosquito is a different beast altogether. Question: Do you have the Mosquito ?
  3. After spending a whole morning on this experimenting with different ways to take off in a controlled manner I give up....the Spitfire take off was easy compared to this, and yet guys made such a fuss about it when it first came out....that is nothing to this monster ! The snaking of this module as it tracks down the runway is beyond belief,so for the time being that's it for me with this...it's got to a stage where it's just not enjoyable....I like a challenge like the next man,but this is ridiculous. It flies beautifully (once airborne!),it lands beautifully, and I have no problems whatsoever with anything else, but if I can't take off I'm not interested.....with all respect air starts are not for me. For those that have 'genuinely' mastered this.....I take my hat off to you....you have my full respect
  4. Ok,I have hopefully followed your instructions precisely Yo-Yo,here are my screenshots to show where the trim pointer ends up if I trim to keep my Mosquito between 120 - 140 Mph,flaps at 10 %,gear down. My aircraft was loaded with a default fuel load of 67% fuel and 4 x 500Ib. To inhibit any parallax reading I shifted to the No2 seat so I could look directly at it,as you can see the pointer was set at 1.5 clicks/ticks after my trimming,so I then used this for my take offs. Unfortunately this did not make a difference to my take offs, the tail still does'nt seem to be stabilized,so I am still fighting it as I track down the runway, the worst of the snaking seems to be the last third of the take off.So it's back to the drawing board for me,more training, more experimenting.....but I'm running out of ideas.
  5. Thanks for the tip Yo-Yo I've got some time off today so I'll give this a go,appreciate you trying to sort this out for us,we'll get there I'm sure EDIT: Out of interest my take off headaches are when the aircraft is heavily loaded ie Mission ready, but I want it this way, there is no point to me learning how to take off without a full load of bombs and hardly any fuel in the tanks. So with this in mind are your findings based on the aircraft being heavily loaded ? or it being lightly loaded.......taking off lightly loaded is no problem to me,I can do that easily without any assistance, just to be clear.
  6. Yo-Yo,if I may.....I can't speak for HotTom but for me the assist does help,I never used the full 100%,but I did find a nice compromise using 25% of the assist. I don't get many hours to fly so when I do I do not want to spend a whole afternoon trying to just take off !.....so yes I was occasionally using a 25% assist,it helps to straighten out the wild aggressive snaking the Mosquito module currently has. I have tried and tried to get the take off right but it just does'nt want to play ball with me,maybe my poor skills, but I'm not sure it's all down to me.....I have flown and mastered all of the DCS WW2 warbirds yet the Mossie take off is eluding me at present. My flights always include 67% fuel and 4 x 500 Ib bombs. My procedure is probably no different to others, nose down elevator trim to 1.5 - 2 clicks, flaps 10-15%,rudder trim slightly to the right, holding the brake in,powering up very slowly the RPM.I then release the brakes power up the RPM gradually as I track down the runway, slowly moving the stick to the neutral position and finally at 3000 RPM and at about 130 MPH allow the aircraft to rotate, keeping the nose down, raising the gear and finally raising the flaps. I find using any brakes inhibits the quality of the tracking down the runway whilst taking off so I resist using them, obviously I do use my rudder to correct any snaking. Now without using the assist I fail in my take offs, about 2 out of every 5 attempts if I'm honest, however using 25% of the assist I get a full 5 out of 5 attempts correct,so you can see it helps,as it does others.I have tried as well,I don't want you or others thinking I'm not trying hard enough,I really have given my take offs top priority.Landing is simple the Mosquito lands beautifully, and I don't have any issues with it's general flight either.....it's just the blessed take offs, lol. I expect there will be others that will complain about their take offs here in the coming weeks as they find their take off situation now compromised.
  7. No we won't have that NineLine.....you had nothing to do with this.......it was not you who made the decision, and it was not you who has refused it's re implementation,no one is,or should be blaming you. You at least tried to help in raising the issue with the team,so again, thank you.
  8. Yeah appreciated....and on the flip side of the coin I spoke to guys today who up until today had no problems with their take offs thinking their skills were great.....only to update yesterday and are now finding it nye on impossible to just take off. This was all down to them not realising the assist was on 100% at default and now they have no assist at all,not even a 10% helping hand in short they're all struggling. I probably like yourself knew you could turn this off or turn down the assist but they did'nt,for what ever reason they had'nt read about this being an option or nobody had informed them. But,hey it does'nt matter now,it's all academic.
  9. Appreciated NineLine and thank you for raising the issue for us......as for their view that it was doing more harm than good, how can the assistance do harm ?,in what way ?.....ask them to explain this to everyone who is asking on these very forums 'how do I stop this module from snaking down the runway'......the assistance does help without doubt I personally have tried it and it does inhibit the snaking. As for creating/updating a new system to function with a twin aircraft, this is not going to happen over night, and whilst I can appreciate the great work going on behind the scenes the assistance was at the very least a small help especially for those that don't have expensive quality hardware to help them as I have. However I fully appreciate your help,so thank you very much Sir.
  10. Thanks Holbeach I always thought that the No1 position was PORT and STARBOARD was No2....why then should the No1 bomb position therfore be the last to drop ?....I'm confused. Just dropping the two wing bombs a minute ago,I can see that the No2 STARBOARD position drops first, followed by the No1 PORT position,I'm not sure ED has got this configured correctly.....surely the No1 position should drop first. I always drop the two wing bombs together first,so it does'nt unbalance the aircraft....then I drop my fuselage bombs......I see your dropping them all together......this has not caused me an issue until today, but I realise now that this has everything to do with the alteration of the bomb release timing that ED altered yesterday......again,I don't think they've got this configured correctly IMHO,but I appreciate your reply, and you can see why I thought there was a problem with this.
  11. Well....speaking personally it'll very much depend on your payload, default fuel I think is 67%,I always have my Mossie loaded up with 4 x 500 pounders, that's quite a lot of weight, the heavier the aircraft the more difficult it is to take off. With this weight I use about 10% of flap to give a bit more lift, but not too much otherwise it'll just cause drag, use a bit of right rudder trim, and resist the temptation of using your brakes too much to counteract the wiggle,I then use the rudder as the speed builds up to correct my path down the runway. My rule of thumb is to 'very gradually' feed in that 3000 RPM...do not on any account just flaw it and give it the full beans, keep the stick back just a bit and as you add in your power gradually move the stick forward to the neutral position. This is my preferred way of take off with the aircraft loaded up as I have detailed.....as I pointed out the heavier the aircraft is the more difficult it will be to get airborne,a much lighter aircraft will be much more easier to get airborne. Therefore if your struggling with take off I suggest you practice at first without any ordnance and reduce the default fuel load to maybe 30 - 35 % or something like that.Once you've mastered that move on to loading the aircraft up a bit at a time so you get used to the differences involved. This is my preferred way.....I'm sure others will have their own preferred way.
  12. Since the last update DCS 2.7.7.14727 Open Beta, the PORT or left wing mounted bomb (I'm using 500 pounders) refuses to release,it was fine before the update, but not since I updated,I have been flying daily,so I was instantly aware of this today. The STARBOARD or right wing mounted bomb release is ok,as are the fuselage bombs. EDIT: I might add in the last update DCS 2.7.7.14727 Open Beta I believe ED altered the timing of the bomb release so that if releasing two bombs they would'nt collide under the aircraft and risk blowing up the aircraft, this has nothing to do with that as we are talking the No 1 position here the PORT side so given this alteration this side should release first.
  13. Unless you switched it off the 'Take Off Assistance' would have been on at 100% by default in the 'Special' options, since the last update (yesterday) the team decided to remove this assistance,so this would make sense why you and countless others are now struggling to take off.
  14. No,I've always adjusted my nose trim down once flaps are extended on landing.
  15. The engine sounds are terrific.....kudos to the team for their excellent efforts, thank you very much guys
  16. I'm not sure how much,I don't tend to check the amount, just enough to counteract, but as soon as you extend your flaps you must be in a nose down pitch attitude,to counter act the nose up attitude that becomes very apparent once the flaps are extended. It's in all the tutorials I have watched and I'm pretty sure it's mentioned in the DCS Mosquito Landing training tutorial you know, the one where you have to fly down through the boxes. Once in this attitude just use your stick pitch control to fly in straight and level, approach speed at 120mph and flare slightly as you cross the final threshold, well that's how I control my landings anyway, right or wrong.
  17. Terry one of the things you must do on landing the Mossie is to alter your trim pitch to counteract this.
  18. @NineLine Thank you,yeah.....you see, this is why DCS can be so infuriating to us pilots/customers......of all the issues that have been discussed and chewed over since the Mosquito's release, the team decide to remove/alter something that everybody had no issues with.I have not seen one member mention this assistance causing them a problem,or asking for it's removal. However as from today I have already witnessed several pilots struggling with their take offs, because unknown to them the take off assistance by default was, until the last update set at 100%.Now I know this being an old lag on here,as do I expect several others.....but unless you did know that this assistance was by default set at 100% you'd be non the wiser and think your take off's were great, when in fact you were being assisted.....a lot ! So did this really require it's removal ?....I don't think so,and I'll go further, this is one of the reasons why DCS is always moving one step forward and two steps back.....and it does'nt give us much hope that the real issues discussed are given the priority that they deserve. One of the biggest issues that we would all I'm sure, like addressed pretty soon is the delayed fuze issue on the bombs.....this to me and I expect countless others really demands attention because at present you cannot use the Mosquito in it's intended role.....that of a low flying fighter/bomber. Sorry to labour the point...but this is an issue not the 'take off assistance' percentage bar, everyone presumably was ok with,so priorities only please.....or we'll all be waiting until doomsday to have the real issues addressed, with all due respect.
  19. As from today's update the take off assistance percentage bar has been removed from the 'Special' options,so now you will not get any take off assistance at all should you require it.....it was there before the update, but now it's been removed. It seems it's the only Warbird that is missing this option all the others still have this option. As I don't recall it being an issue with anyone....I am at a loss to why it's been removed......any ideas ?
  20. Thank you very much indeed Racoon....top work, this is very much appreciated
  21. Well a little please and thank you go a long way mate
  22. EDIT: I must offer my sincere apologies to the team ED,after re checking all of my skins it appears that only two out of the entire collection do not show the flap increments on the wing, these are both custom skins and do not represent the Fw 190 D-9 modules skin collection that ED fronts. My apologies team
  23. Thanks very much BIGNEWY much appreciated
  24. As to date and using the very latest DCS Open Beta version that of DCS 2.7.6.13436 the flap indicators are still missing......is there any chance of getting this issue addressed ED once and for all please ?......it's quite an important feature of the Dora. Or does somebody know what's got to be fixed within the skin to sort this out.....after all this time we may need to do this ourselves......seeing as this was first reported back on 20th December 2018,it's coming up for three years !
  25. Would dearly love the Bomb Bay Doors,Undercarriage and the Flaps to be on separate 'optional' Axis.....you would then be able to operate them like the real WW2 aircraft...this gives immersion to the PC Sim pilot.....for me immersion is everything. Switching on a switch to operate these operations as we have in game to date does'nt cut it for me.....sorry ED but it's about as interesting as switching on your living room lights......this has no immersion whatsoever.....it's devoid of immersion and bores me to death. I cannot understand why Ed does'nt create these operations as a 'optional' Axis.....it can't be that difficult,it has been created by other flight sims so why has'nt Ed done likewise ? They've done a beautiful job with the Mossie,it really is a masterpiece......by far my personal favourite module to date.....so thank you very much Ed.....and yet it's let down by these primitive on/off controls to operate these WW2 warbird controls such as the undercarriage/flaps/bomb bay doors that are crying out to be on an Axis and that were in real life were controlled on an Axis style lever. Examples, the Spitfire has undercarriage levers, the Mosquito has under carriage levers, the P-47 has undercarriage levers, the P-51 Mustang has undercarriage levers......need I elaborate any further ?.....many of these also have their flaps operated by Axis style levers too,and the Mossie has an Axis style lever to open/close the bomb bay doors. So please Ed,if you get to read this 'please consider' these operations to be created for 'optional' Axis control in the future,I say optional as I know some won't have the available Axis on their controllers.....so if you have'nt fine,I understand your situation.....but for the many that do,we'd love these controls to be on an 'optional' Axis. Ed your Warbirds are fantastic.....but are poorly let down IMHO because of the lack of immersion giving 'optional' Axis control assignment.....and I am talking Warbirds here everyone, not the jets...Warbirds,in case anybody is not clear on this.
