Hey Charly! No need for weapons. This is purely a flight with a possible pickup. The main idea is just to get a few of us Mi-8 pilots in a server together. I'm a little concerned about finding a time suitable for everyone. I doubt it'll be possible. But I'll try and find something suitable for as many players as possible. I'm gonna put my server up now if anyone wants to check their connection. I'll be running a TS3 server on the day, too. Details will be posted here before the event. Sorry docfu. There's not really any place for aircraft in this one. Perhaps when I get back from my travels I'll run a game with a few more positions? I could put a Ka-50 in. We could have that flying support. There will be no targets on this mission. The main objective is just to have a few Mi-8s flying together towards a destination.

If you're using Windows, double click the time at the bottom right then click chance time and date. When you go to set time zone - it will tell you the relation. You should be UTC +/- 0 right now. http://www.timeanddate.com/time/aboututc.html

It's been a crazy week. So Saturday the 7th is my current target, if people are able to join. Sunday might also be a possibility. I'm going to be out the country for three weeks after this weekend, so I wouldn't be able to run the event after then. I'd like for people to give me availibility below if possible. I'll throw up a test server now for the next couple of hours. I'll name it Slazia: NF Test With an early version of the mission. You dont need to connect for long - just check it connects if you are free. - And down. Had a few players join at seperate times with no problems.

Took a look. Looks like a great start point. I'm thinking of adding random failures and more birds to the mission. Might make it a little more interesting.

All three are great. As people have stated, it all depends on what you want. The learning curve on the Ka-50 is sharp, but once you get used to flying it, you'll never look back.

Was hoping to take a look, but have had no time. No out of town for a bit. I'll check it out when I get back.

I understand where people are coming from when planes are made that don't suit their style of play, but saying they have no purpose makes no sense. How about using the Sabre's to fight off Ka-50s. Intercept Mi-8s or Hueys doing troop drops? Sabres vs. Sabres. 5 Sabre's Against 4 Mig 21s... Endless.

To be honest, if people only want to fly one leg, that is possible, too. That way everyone can enjoy it :) Looking forward to it.

Excellent! Looks like we have a good amount of people. Ideally I'd like to host it at a time convient for all. Weekend is best I think. Saturday the 7th perhaps? 1pm UTC? This will give people time to get prepared if possible. I'll try and host server tests before then to make sure everything is working. I can host on a dedicated pc with a 100mbps fiber connection, so it should be decent for most players. I also have a ts server.

Yup, you're right. Done some testing with AI, seems the Mi-8 has around 3 hours of flight time in it. Perhaps starting with low fuel would make things interesting. I definitely want to do it at night, the lights and scenery look great.

I turn off my brakes either way. If I'm on the farp, turning off my breaks shows me which way my rotors and the wind are taking me. I can then trim the helicopter for a verticla takeoff. Just be ready to correct as soon as you turn them off.

Sorry, I was unsable to join after that. Perhaps we can do a server test at some point before trying again? I think the connection problems were due to having to download such a big map?

Hey Airwar. Sounds like a great plan, but I'm not sure my schedule is going to allow for it this week. I'm pretty busy with work, side projects, and the wife. Perhaps this is something we can do some time after the event?
