  1. Four Questions: 1) Anyone figured out how to use bombs yet? 2) In the default setup there is a rocket launcher with 32 rockets, yet in the mission editor you cannot access this. Anyone know why not? 3) Anyone know how to limit rockets to single / pair shot? 4) Can you remove the burst limit for the UPK (and other?) pod/s or is it fixed that way?
  2. Icing is definitely in the game. There are a number of missions for the 50 that require you to use it or die :)
  3. Found that by myself actually, but thanks for the heads up. It was really frustrating when I was flying with it chasing a hind. *by that I mean your post - not the bug or solution :)
  4. Ahh, this might have been the problem I had last night. Nice work.
  5. I gotta say, despite the missing features and bugs (which we expected), this has been an amazing release. I'm supposed to be programming right now, but instead I'm thinking about flying the Mi-8 again tonight and reading the forums. I loved the Huey, but the Mi-8 is miles better for me. I don't have rudder pedals, so being able to trim the rudder is one huge benefit. Took me around an hour or two last night to learn the start up procedure (with notes). Can't wait to get up in the sky again tonight.
  6. Try the instant action mission - target practice. If you have it there it means that on your other flights you havent flipped all your weapon circuit breakers.
  7. Is the a reason you can't lean towards the middle of the cockpit in position one and two or is that a bug? Last night I was trying to follow a hind and it would only let me lean towards the outside of the Mi-8.
  8. I wouldn't mind it so much if it would let me lean to the right, but it doesnt :(
  9. The 'bullets' were actually 30mm AP grenades. That's why they shot at a strange angle :)
  10. Don't care if it goes on sale. I want it now. Willing to pay to support the development of future sims too. Grats on another great release Bel.
  11. So now it's finally out! Yay! In the instant action you have the usual rockets we all know and love, as well as two gun pods. One of the gun pods works well at range, I'm guessing this is the 30mm?, the other seems to fire bullets up in the air to rain them down on the enemy - this must be the 7.62. Anyone have much luck with the rain technique? Secondly, the weapon system is a little awkward to use. You cant bind any of the controls to your HOTAS, so you have to use it with a keyboard. An odd choice. Having to press ctrl+alt+[ / ] and using ; \ , to change between weapon system is really inconvenient.
  12. Watch the input at the top left and look for strangeness?
  13. Purchased! Paypal decided to work today. Downloading at a mighy 200kbs... So that'll take what, 40 minutes? Steam downloaded the new patch in 10 minutes.
  14. Paypal has frozen for me! Perhaps I'll leave it to tomorrow
  15. Mi-8AMTSh
  16. Ahh, thats interesting. Sorry, I wasn't aware of that. Thanks. In that case, how about other variations of the Mi-8/17? The Mi-8AMTSh for example? The ability to use Mi-24 weapons would be interesting. I reckon people would be willing to pay a small amount of a variation of a base they already own..
  17. So the Mi-17 is a modified Mi-8. The version we're getting is an Mi-8. Are there any plans to offer an Mi-17 in the future or any reasons you decided not to? I'm guessing the Mi-8 would be a great start point to building the Mi-17. Don't get me wrong, I'm really excited about the 8. I just love the idea of being able to get variations.
  18. Curves! Set up your deadzones as being really narrow, then setup the curves on on the extremes of the stick as strong and the inside as very weak. This is what I've done with my stick. I'm using the X52 pro, but the same idea should apply. Surely there are others with the Thrustmaster Hotas X who have some advice? There's no way you should be using an xbox controller.
  19. Cant wait! I was going to hold off buying this as I've spent a lot recently, but after seeing the thing going I don't think I have the willpower. Great job.
  20. Can't wait either! How is it to fly? Is it stable like the KA-50 or is it a bit wild like the Huey?
  21. Thanks Assie. Interesting information. Harry - Yeah, particles are a huge issue for many players right now. EDGE will hopefully fix this. 2.6ghz to 3.4 is quite a jump. Odd that TrackIR has such a negative effect on FPS. I haven't looked at that before.
  22. Interesting. You mean the Platform specified in the Configuration Manager - Win32 / x64? I can't see an option for AnyCPU. I compile my c++ with Visual Studio 2012 (v110) if that makes a difference. Is it a .NET compile option only, or is it also for c++? The new engine should be friendlier towards concurrency, when that finally gets released. - sorry if I'm derailing your thread a little. I'm just curious :)
  23. Apart from a night version, nothing. Her faults are what make her interesting to fly.
