  1. If the server is set to 10 minute delay and you are in it for less that that you won't get any data. I'm not 100% sure that's what happened but I've had a similar issue happen before. Were you in for less than 10 minutes?
  2. Can't get delay to be off We're running the latest Tacview 1.7 and the latest 2.5 beta but can't get the delay turned off on the server. It's defaulted to 10 minutes. We tried the work around but it's still doing it with the delay. Any thoughts?
  3. MadDog, thanks to you and everyone else for at least doing this work. I bet that a lot of other game developers would just abandon them rather than spend the time to fix the older missions. I know that it takes time because of my experience with building missions but I do appreciate your efforts. We use a lot of these missions in our group.
  4. Both make sense guys. Thanks!
  5. I looked to see if this had been discussed before but the liveries do not include any Iranian F-14's. We would like to do some fictional missions using the Iranian Air Force and the F-14 should be included but it's not. Any word on if this is a bug? If not could it be added to the wish list?
  6. Yeah, I can too in single player. Looks like they have it disabled for multiplayer like they did with Nevada in the beginning or it's a multiplayer bug. Tried dropping a bunch of 31's on a bridge on a fresh mission and nothing happened. Same when I dropped on buildings. But they go down fine in SP.
  7. Finished the campaign. Really well done Dzen! Well worth the money.
  8. Right now as far as I can tell, nothing is destructible in the new Caucasus map as far as bridges and buildings are concerned. I remember this being the case with the Nevada map in the beginning as well. Is this just a temporary condition that will be changed back in 2.5 stable?
  9. Thank you for listening! By the way, the mission #7 where you have to go in with the Mi-8 and provide cover while they extract the troops is super hard. It took me 5 tries to complete it! I suck with trying to aim those rockets though. If I were better with them I could have done it in 1 or 2 tries probably. I still love the Ka-50 and I'm glad that this campaign is around to fly it in.
  10. OK, thanks Eddie. If that's the case then I stand corrected. We have used LASTE in the past to demonstrate that you can drop from high altitude and it does make a difference in accuracy but it's broken in 2.5 now. I would really like to see some documentation but if you say it's not publicly available I'll take your word for it.
  11. By the way, we've been testing LASTE and the wind edit info is completely broken in 2.5. Hopefully it will be fixed with 2.5 stable.
  12. It's my understanding from that real life Reddit interview with the A-10C pilot (they're on Suite 12) that a lot of that stuff is automatic now. But in Suite 3 it's not. But if I'm not correct I would like to know. :music_whistling:Oops, Suite 8, not 12.
  13. Frederf, I'm not trying to fight with anyone including you but I don't believe this is correct. I have studied the manual and read a lot of stuff on the older A-10 Suite used in the sim and everything I've read shows that you have to enter LASTE info. The IFFCC does not take in that data. It only displays wind data on the CDU page. We have done LASTE training missions where we set the wind to practice this and have proven that without using LASTE the bomb will go off target by as much as a couple hundred meters and after entering LASTE you can get within a few feet. Please find the part in the manual and quote it for me here because I would like to know the correct information and what we've been missing in our training setups.
  14. 100% agree with everything you're saying. By the way, the A-10C is designed to do dive bombing. That's why it has those big speed brakes. I'm not saying that it's ideal under all circumstances but the air frame was partly designed to use that technique. I've done more than 60 degree angle dives in the past and it's been very effective. But do I do it in practice, no. I use standoff weapons like Mavericks and JDAM's. JDAM and LGB kits for old Mk-82, Mk83 and Mk-84 are super cheap in comparison to newer standoff weapons. So they don't have any problem using them in the field because they're an effective alternative. So why bother with anything CCIP when you have the ability to stay high and clear of danger. So like Zabuza said, practice it, but in a mission you'll very likely never use it. The only case would be something like your TGP is broken, you have only one Mk-84 left, a building has to go down and your only option left is CCIP.
  15. I don't believe that this is correct and I've proven this over and over in training we've done. It's shown that the wind blows bombs off target but when you enter it into LASTE it compensates and works great. And my question is why would you have LASTE in the first place if the system automatically compensated for wind? Doesn't make sense. Please reference the manual location that explains this so I can read up on it. Please re-read what I said. Obviously you can use CCIP for for unguided in certain cases. My point is that we don't have to use it because we have options like GPS or laser guided.
  16. I found a problem with mission 9. The sniper on the roof of the tall office building is set to immortal. This makes it impossible to complete the task.
  17. Depends on your dive angle but I understand what you meant.
  18. You can drop CBU-87's and CBU-97's in CCIP mode. You can't drop 103's or 105's in CCIP mode. You can't drop any GPS guided munitions in CCIP mode. You'll get a "USE CCRP" warning on the HUD.
  19. Definitely not bugged. CCIP is the simplest form of bomb dropping and with default settings the IFCC calculates it based on zero wind. So what you need to do is check the mission and see what the wind settings are. If you have a lot of wind going different directions at the different altitudes then you need to plug in the LASTE settings. I find that starting at about 2 miles from the target at 10,000 feet and then diving almost straight down like they used to do in WWII is the most accurate. But the obvious problems are that you are heading straight towards the ground so you have to chop the throttle and throw out the speed brakes to slow down or you won't be able to pull out of the dive. I'll wait until I'm about 2000 feet above the deck and then hit the button. I can usually score a hit or at least come very close. You're probably already aware that CCIP is almost never used now. It's safer to use laser or GPS guided munitions and CCIP is really only a fallback or last resort system. If you use LASTE and CCRP at 10,000 feet you can almost be as accurate as you can doing CCIP drops. I've done CCRP drops from 15,000 feet with LASTE set up and come within a few feet of a target. CCIP is OK for stuff like cluster bombs though but it won't work with CBU103's and 105's or other GPS bombs. There are a bunch of video tutorials on using LASTE. I recommend not to use the "briefing" wind information because it can be wrong. You can get wind speed, direction and temperature from the CDU in flight and use that to plug into the LASTE settings. Another issue you might be experiencing from page 542 in the manual. Note: To accurately use CCIP bombing, the aircraft must know the elevation of the aim point. This is most often done by selecting DTS elevation. This is done by first pressing the DATA rocker on the UFC and then the SEL rocker until DTS is displayed on the third line of the HUD data block. If DTS is not selected, the elevation will be based on the steerpoint. If based on steerpoint and the steerpoint is at a higher elevation than where the CCIP pipper is pointed, you will get a CCIP INVALID error.
  20. I decided to wait till 2.5 was out to try this again. I can say that it's a lot of fun. I've completed mission 5 and the units are all in places that are reasonable and not in the trees like some other free campaigns. I've seen some posts about this not being a very realistic campaign, but it's only one chopper from what I've seen and some of the missions are pretty demanding. It's easy to run out of ordnance if you're not careful. And the game play is pretty difficult for the most part. I'm really liking doing it on the new map. The only request I would have is that you just double check the placement of the units to make sure that any follow up missions won't get ruined by units hidden in the trees. If you've already done it then thank you! It's really gotten me excited about flying the Black Shark again.
  21. I can't even get the AI helos to engage ground units now so I believe that there are other problems going on besides this. I delete the tasks and then assign them engage a target at a waypoint and they turn around and head home without doing anything at all. So something seems to be wrong with AI behavior currently. Hopefully a lot of this will be fixed with 2.5 stable.
  22. Yes, ILS seems to be broken currently. Tried it at Kutaisi and could not get the Morse code or needles. Hopefully ED knows about this problem and is working on rectifying it.
  23. We use these for our training Snoopy. Thanks to you and the rest of the 476th for putting them together and sharing them with the community.
  24. Yes, can also confirm that this is a problem.
  25. I'm pretty sure that this has been discussed about ED needing to update the thermal imaging system in DCS World but in CA the trees show up as bright white hot and some running vehicles don't show up at all. Any news on if this problem will be addressed soon? The tank is visible in thermal in this comparison but I've noticed that some others like BTR's don't. Comparison Shots
