i5-11600k versus i5-14600K
Steel Jaw replied to Steel Jaw's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Budget says EITHER GPU upgrading OR CPU upgrading. -

So yeah sounding stupid, how to install please...

Horribly confusing. 2d is fine, no issues. But in VR the telemetry constantly jumps between GPU and CPU bound with minor stutters at times.

With my GPU running at 100% load in VR but the CPU maxing 60%, I'm thinking I should instead be looking at a GPU upgrade... -

Thanx for the answer. In VR the GPU is at 100 % load whilst the cpu is around 50 %. If this is reliable info, it sounds like I should be considering a GPU upgrade instead. -
Gonna get water for carrier ops? A deal breaker for me if not.
-
Well I'm not purchasing a high end router because meta can't get their Sierra together. Maybe time for a different vr headset.
-
Excellent

I'd read the link cable can be used with VXDR

Does VirtualDesktops VDXR have to be purchased? Does it give better performance in DCS than the Quest Link app?
-
If I understand, as a quest3 user, VirtualDesktops VDXR for vr is my best option. If I understand, as a quest3 user, VirtualDesktops VDXR for vr is my best option. i5-11600k versus i5-14600K
Steel Jaw replied to Steel Jaw's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
oh i realize that…but an intel upgrade would cost half of a amd upgrade -
Running DCS the CPU maxes out between 40-60 %, while the GPU is usually hovering around 100%, in VR and 2d. But in the game, the in game resource indicator keeps bouncing between CPU and GPU bottleknecked. So, how would I know if a CPU upgrade would improve FPS? Or is it more likely I need a GPU upgrade. The key issue for me is there is occasional stuttering in VR. Upgrading to a AMD platform is not an option due to cost. Thanks for any input.
