Sorry for being thick here. I can click on your hyperlink and indeed see an online directory, and one file is called "mist.lua" and it says v53 next to it, but I can't figure out how to download it. I can click on it, then it shows me the file content (all the code lines) inside the webpage, but how do I get the lua file and save it on my computer?

Hi Fire, Are you sure it didn't say "no internet connection" the first time, and then "login incorrect" on the second, third etc. attempt. If so, many people seem to have this problem. Look for "no internet connection" in this forum.

Because, if I understand it correctly from what I read here on the forum, protection issues associated with steam are holding things up. But maybe I misunderstood...

WHY??? Didn't it use to be that steam releases came a little later than regular ones. Why change this now???

What's distinction between AFM and possible EFM/PFM. Will the flight model be on par with the best DCS planes? Why is it called M-2000C for DCS, rather than DCS-Mirage? Anyway, proud preorderer here.

I must have missed something: Just looked at Wags' latest DCSW 1.5 Blacksea map video (Sept. 6), and the ground textures seem to be completely different from what we have now. And I thought the Blacksea map won't be updated. Looks great now, btw.:thumbup:

Is it possible to have two beta installs? I presently have DCS world beta installed, but when DCS world 1.5 comes out, I may do a fresh install instead of patching (e.g. because I want to migrate DCS world beta to a new SSD). Do I have to uninstall my present beta before that, or can I keep two different beta installs?

I recently switched my computer to windows 10. For SSD space reasons, I uninstalled the regular DCS world, and now have only the latest beta (1.2.16.42796). Everything works fine, but now I cannot connect to some MP servers (e.g. <51>US Korean server, 104th Phoenix server), as I immediately get a "connection interrupted" message. However, I can connect to some other servers (e.g. Virtual Aerobatics, Kirk's free flight server). Is that because I use Windows 10 or because I use beta, or for some other reason? (Btw I don't have (and never had) any mods installed, except for the add-on aircraft):helpsmilie:

I, for one, will be doing any kind of ATC communication for the first time. May the force be with me...:music_whistling:

Now this is something I applaud, especially the decision to release the new rendering engine prior to DCS world 2. I have long had the feeling that all the new bells and whistles that were packed into DCSW2 delayed everything. Anyway, proud pre-purchaser of the Albatros.

Great, thanks for the explanation, now I understand. My only question left: why do I not have the same troubles in other cockpits (UH-1H,Sabre,Mig-15) is it simply a result of their gauges being naturally bigger with bolder lettering in the real aircraft, or is it (and now we are back to my original request to Belsimtek) that the Mi-8 cockpit it not made to the same standard as the other three, and can be improved?

My "textures" setting in the graphics options is set to high (see attached picture). Is there another place where I can select better textures?

Hi Zaelu, Thanks for the explanations, but I am not sure I completely follow (you'll have to dumb it down for me:) Do you say that I have to resave the textures in a higher resolution (and if so, why doesn't Belsimtek do that in the first place). What program to use to resave textures? I have 25xx pixels horizontally (don't remember the exact resolution) for my screen, but the cockpit resolution is limited to 1024 pixels anyway, right, no matter how good your monitor is, right? Screenshot shows how it looks on my monitor.

I didn't express myself right: For example, I mean that the numbers on the heading indicator (if that's the correct term, I mean the instrument to the left of the Doppler-indicator and left/down from the g-meter) are nearly impossible to read (unless you zoom in). Look at Zaelu's screenshot right after your post (#119), I cannot read his heading without having to try really hard. Maybe it's my eyes, but I don't have any difficulties in the other cockpits.
