  1. I agree with Figaro9. The Trim tab there so that back pressure does not have to be held by the pilot. If you are empty and no ordinance or tanks... you should only trim a little like 4 or 5 and that may be too much. There are recommendations that I have attached from the manual however my trim settings are lower than what this recommends. I like to put a little back pressure on the stick to pull the nose up when I take off. For landing I always set the trim to 5 and that usually puts me at just the right angle of attack for the approach with just a bit of nose down pressure until the moment of touch down then I flatten the decent and flare. Hope this helps.
  2. Not sure its only a Belsimtek issue. I have seen it in the FC3 aircraft as well. It may be an ED modification that is way overdone.
  3. I was in flying this past weekend and noticed that the Tacan is now working again.

    Missiles range

When I was learning I first learned Missile defense how to defend against R-27s particularly. That helped me. A Enemy was firing 1 to 2 missiles at me and killing me. Now he is firing 4 or 5 missiles because I am able to turn Notch or run from his missile then return to the fight. High altitude is a good place to start... But I like being in the weeds. I have to check for ticks when coming back from a flight.
  5. That worked, Thank you very much for the clarification.
  6. So the plane has to be in the air? because I have tried to make modifications in Multiplayer sitting on the ramp and when I click OK nothing happenes... nothing saves and the Adjust controls screen is still up the only button that seems to work is CANCEL.
  7. I recently got a Thrustmaster pedals and when I go in to each aircraft to map them it works just fine. However when I try to map them in M2000C I click ok afterwards and the screen goes black the program freezes and I have to kill the program to get out and it doesn't save my changes. So I then go in to MP to set my pedals up. I click on adjust controls and proceed to the axis menu and set up my rudder when I click Ok Nothing happens the adjust controls stays and it will not take the OK selection. I previously had a Logitech G25 racing wheel that I was using the pedals as rudders. Any help to get this straightened out would be appreciated. I miss flying my Mirage.
  8. After a lot of reading I finally got mine figured out. I had to download a .Net software before the Flightpanels program would save anything. I at least have a Keyboard emulator which helps a great deal. I may fiddle around with getting the gear lights to work with the game at a later date. If I can get that to work I may buy the radio panel. Thanks for your help TheHighwayman
  9. I felt he same way, I read your post, TheHighwayman, and I was like what? then the next day I read it again after researching the links and it made a bit more sense, now I think I may make an attempt at it. The problem I am having is that the Saitek profiler is not launching or downloading. Could it be that its because I have a Saitek X52? and I just need to switch devices? I am not sure how to do that with the profiler. I was hoping there was just one for the Switch panel.
  10. I have heard pilots talk about struggling with the controls... Much like losing power steering on your car. While at low speeds you may struggle to turn the wheel in a 1 dementional plane try doing in 3. To horse a 7,500 pound helicopter around without hydro would take the work of two strong individuals. I think that is what is being simulated.
  11. Is there any word on this? I was hoping to get a confirmation of a bug or something. If its just me then I would like to know how the thing works. It worked in 2.04 but has not worked since. I would use this instrument to navigate but in its current state I cannot. Any help or advise would be appreciated. :helpsmilie:
  12. For Basic MK-82 (Not the Snake Eyes) Try using a depression angle of 35 with a Dive angle of 30 speed at 400 and release altitude of 2000 feet. If you want to try 45 at 20 degree dive angle at 400 and release at 2000 also works However the higher the dive angle the greater the hit probability. :pilotfly:
  13. I am having the same issue but mine is with other modules as well... and I am not receiving log files when the system crashes in this manner. Its almost as if DCS doesn't register a Crash, it simply stops responding.
  14. If Pylons are jettisoned in the F-5E it causes a disconnect from the server in Multiplayer missions. This is setting of the select jettison switch to the down position then pushing the Jettison Button. This is occurring in 1.56 open Beta and 2.05 open Alpha.
  15. Since the 2.05 update to Open Alpha I have notice that the TACAN no longer functions. When tuning Nellis at 12X I do not get an indication of the Radio source even in the pattern at Nellis. I do get Morse Code but direction pointer not showing where source is. Next when Jettisoning Pylons in Multiplayer causes disconnect from MP server. Damage modeling update appears to be good. And many of the new features including Refueling sounds, are a definite improvement over previous version. Great Job BST.
  16. It would be nice for resolution to be set standard for everyone's machine too... So that everyone's monitor could see 20/20. Some of us don't have super resolution and we have to utilize the zoom feature (much like a pair of binoculars) in order to see things that others can see without a zoom feature because they have much better equipment and screen resolution. I think that the sim is fine with out the Neck and eye restrictions. Maybe a special options could be created so we could choose to be hard core simmers with nice equipment or low budget simmer with mediocre machines and still be somewhat equal. I love the F-5E and I also I love the freedom of movement.
  17. What map do you normally fly on ricktoberfest?
  18. I have some air to air kills vs the Su 27 or Mig 29 but I do not go out hunting them because they are much superior fighters than the F-5E if I think they see me I hide or run. They can shoot from a long way out and I rarely survive the 2nd or 3rd missile shot. Those few kills on elite fighters have been either by blind luck or the opposing aircraft were defensive against superior air or ground threat and were distracted. I rarely use the radar in the F-5E. Its no good for searching and it does not identify very well where your target is in the sky. By the time you get it on radar you can see the bogey so the radar serves little purpose except for ranging. However if I can identify wings and tails by looking at a bogey I am in range of the AIM-9P5. If I can Identify an aircraft visually its a goner. When the radar comes in handy is inside 5 miles with the gun. The ranging is very good for this so if I am close in going for a guns kill its radar on Dogfight Guns mode and A/A1 on sight mode. GUNS GUNS GUNS!!! :joystick:
  19. I have not noticed this however I have noticed that the crew chief does absolutely everything. If you ask him to Rearm and refuel he does it... while he is doing that if you ask him to Connect Air Supply he does not respond immediately because he is rearming and refueling your aircraft... Therefore I always have to wait until I am rearmed and refueled or wait until after the start sequence is complete before the crew chief can complete his tasks. You would think that this being the "AIR FORCE" we should get armament and fuel people to help the crew chief out but instead our crew chiefs job is a busy one. That is the only issue I have seen with the crew not responding to requests in the Tiger ... one other thing you can check is to make sure the base where your bird is at is a Friendly base and not enemy or neutral.:joystick:
  20. Everytime I roll into shoot rockets at a target I press the Dogfight/Resume Search ® button on my stick. Even if the radar is not in operation. If radar is Dogfight missile or Dogfight gun modes Rockets WILL NOT fire. Previously mentioned Jettison switches also cause this problem.:pilotfly:
  21. it use to not be so fragile I would say an update in mid Nov I started experiencing the frequent blow outs. I had one the other night at 165 with all three tires on the ground. I had a slight cross wind too which may also have something to do with it. Lateral stress on the tires maybe. However I can drift the thing on landings better than any rally car on the circuit. LOL. I certainly do hope BST looks at this and fixes this issue. My take offs look horrible because I try to get the airplane off the ground as soon as possible rather than letting the plane fly off the run way as the manual says. Mostly because I am afraid of blowing out the tires.
  22. I agree VIKEBELL below is a Quote from BST F5E manual page 55 The nose gear is equipped with a nosewheel steering system. Nosewheel steering is engaged when the steering button on the control stick is depressed |S|. The rudder pedals are used to actuate/turn the nosewheel (|Z| - left, |X| - right). When the nosewheel steering system is disengaged, the nosewheel swivels freely. The underlined part above is not happening. When I let go of the button the plane continues to turn in the direction the nose wheel was pointed. If it is swivels freely the nose will will straighten out.
  23. It is my belief its extremely slow. Previous posts indicate that Vmax on the tires are 230. I know that isn't documented in the manual if it is I have not seen it posted. However I did find on page 266 in the Belsimtek F-5E3 Flight Manual under the single-engine take off emergency procedures. The following. "Single-Engine Takeoff In case of single-engine takeoff: Ø Use afterburner during takeoff; Ø Jettison stores; Ø Use pedals to maintain direction; Ø To lift up the nose gear, aft the control stick at approximately 5 KIAS before single-engine takeoff speed (link Table. Takeoff performance), if runway permits, lift-off can be made at 210 KIAS (not more, due to landing gear tires limitations); Ø Single operating engine ensures minimum climb rate of 300 ft/min with extended flaps and landing gear (at full afterburner; with full fuel tanks, without stores)." Also: I found this Table on page 261. 8. Maximum takeoff run groundspeed 230 KIAS Wheel tires strength Of course all of this is dependent on other factors not coming into play like heat and stress. However I believe that tires bursting at 170 or even 190 is extremely slow by the evidence in the flight manual.
