  1. I think that using TGP is easier and more precise to create SPI. Why do you want to use HUD?
  2. ABRE-TLA's training qualification campaign are great, but I think those are not suitable to start with. They are better for second or third step. I remember when I was going through training missions it was frustrating that text disappears automatically and there is no way to get it back. Sometimes I needed more time to find out what exactly I have to do because sometimes not all buttons are highlighted properly. Anyhow, check again if there is some condition that might prevent further execution. Altitude, heading, speed ... that was often the case why training refuses to proceed. And read what you have to do. Maybe the buttons you have to press are not highlighted. Gerry Abbott has good tutorial videos
  3. Hi guys. Here is one interesting thread about wingmans http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=142361 My opinion is that wingmans definitely have room for improvement in future DCS versions. Here is what I've found: Wingman refuses to attack when flying on high altitude (about 20000 feet) even I give them order to attack at my SPI. Wingman often refuses to attack without obvious reason. Therefore I don't plan the mission to rely on wingmans. The bigger chance for this is the longer I wait to give them the order to attack. So, if there is plenty of enemies to destroy, I found the best to give them attack order as soon as we come to the battlefield. Wags said that AI improvement is scheduled for DCS World 2.0 so I hope that consequently wingmans logic will get update too. It would be very helpful that wingman at least provides information why he is unable to attack. I think this would be more realistic behavior.
  4. I would try to play with USB bios options like Legacy USB Support, Controller mode... It might help.
  5. Here are some threads with discussions about Warthog and usb 3.0 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=118367&highlight=Warthog+usb http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=132159&highlight=Warthog+usb http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=142711&highlight=Warthog+usb I'm not sure that Warthog on USB 3.0 causes problems but I'm using it on USB 2.0 and I haven't experienced any of your problems. Check your motherboard documentation. Maybe you have connectors for usb 2.0 on the board. So you can buy only cables with holder for plugs. Generally MB have few unexposed usb connectors.
  6. Please can you upload track file so we can see what's happening. Or at least describe what you have done and what bomb type you've dropped. If you recently installed DCS World you have latest version. Update is automatic so I don't think this is a problem. Leave fuse option to N/T. There is possibility that the bomb exploded but you didn't see where it hits the ground. After you drop the bomb you can turn on Autopilot and press F6 key to follow the bomb. F1 to get back in cockpit.
  7. Great! I'll be here. DCS is great environment but in my opinion there is lack of content like good campaigns and missions. So, I believe that profitability of effort for creating official DLC will be justified. Anyhow when you create next DLC official or unofficial I will buy/donate one license for sure.
  8. You are welcome baltic_dragon! I know how hard can be to coordinate family and hobby. All right! I appeal to everyone who enjoys The Enemy Within campaign to help our man to convince his wife that working in DCS campaign editor is worthwhile. I didn't finish campaign yet but I'm already impatient to see your next project. Thanks.
  9. On the contrary, I use USB 2.0 ports for Warthog intentionally because those using USB 3.0 for Warthog have reported some problems because of that. If you have possibility try to connect it on USB 2.0 port and check behavior again. Firmware updating leave for last resort, those things are always little tricky. Good luck.
  10. Hi baltic_dragon, In my opinion DCS World needs more content like this. Thank you and to all associates for hard work! As I really understand it is essential to convince your wife that your time investment in DCS is worthwhile and profitable, I wanted to contribute on this task with small amount of money. Unfortunately after clicking on PayPal link on campaign download page I've got message 'This transaction has expired...'. Please let me know where to pay. Thanks!
  11. I've overclocked my graphics card gigabyte 760 gtx a little, but everything became unstable. I've used OCGuru. Before that, I've tried to overclock my CPU i5 (also a little) but I experienced stability issues so I gave up. From now on, I'm using only raw power. I think these days hardware is generally well optimized, so without hardware modifications, can't get much more juice. thunderchicken, I wonder what is your opinion about 60 vs 75 fps after overclocking monitor. Do you see the difference?
  12. Have you tried to start mission again? Maybe it was bug that rarely appears. If this is not bug I assume that you have probably set some frequencies out of bound.
  13. What version of DCS you have installed? If it is old pre DCS World version, download latest DCS World and A-10C module from ED web site. Update graphics drivers as Atalia has said. Check how much RAM you have. If you are short on RAM this can cause the problem. If you still can't successfully start DCS World and fly A-10C, try to find log file and upload it here.
  14. I haven't had any of this problems with my Warthog but I will share how I'm using it. I have latest firmware installed. Also, I'm keeping it unplugged. I plugin usb connectors before starting DCS and unplug it after closing DCS. Somewhere I've found information that turning off and turning on computer while HOTAS is connected could cause permanent damage of HOTAS electronics. I'm not sure if this is true but I'm unplugging it just in case it is true. ...and I'm using USB 2.0 ports for Warthog.
  15. You can use Autopilot with ALT option to help you make turns on certain altitude. Flying is not easy especially in simulator because lack of physical feedback. I suppose in real airplane you have much more feedback of movement and more opportunity to make corrections with less thinking. Anyhow, when someone said that A-10 is easy to fly he thought comparing to the other planes. Try to regularly check instruments while flying and practice will make you better. For precision flying proficiency properly using instruments is essential. RL pilots have procedures end some good practices according this. If you are interested in using instruments try to search Google with this text: 'Pilot Instrument scan' and you will find some good articles about this topic. For better handling precision, I recommend you small (about 7-9cm) extension for TM Warthog. In that way you will increase precision while reducing stickiness effect. At the same time you will be able to mount stick on the chair between your legs which is more natural position than keeping it on the desk. Actually I wonder why this extension is not part of an original product. Search the Forum for 'Warthog extension' if you are interested in buying one.
  16. Try to update Graphics card driver. Maybe mouse pointer is there but it is not rendered properly. Do you use some special mouse driver? I'm using Logitech mouse, no problems so far. Try different mouse with stock Windows drivers. Edit: Of course, try this only if the basic tips above haven't helped.
  17. Yesterday I had this same thoughts. Telepathy :)
  18. He has impressive filmography. Check Imdb. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0784884/ I'm looking forward to see his latest work on movies about Nikola Tesla.
  19. Thank you very much for reply (+1). I'll try some of the mods listed. Btw. this kneeboard builder seems to be convenient http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=129341
  20. I've got rearm even with the engines running. Maybe you turned off power? If you turn off engines you should turn on APU and APU GEN. Try this: just lend and don't turn off the engines, switch on Intercom, push mic button forward, turn on intercom communication and ask for rearm. This works for me. ... and of course, the airport must have stuff to rearm you. If the airport is empty, you will not be rearmed. I heard this from one guy on YouTube video.
  21. Hello fellow moders! I would like to ask more experienced mod users/developers what are 'must have' mods in your opinion. I'm flying mostly A-10C. My apology if there is thread with this information already published. Thanks.
  22. Hehe, Rade is my compatriot. Very experienced actor. I watched Snatch movie by accident... never regret.
  23. This is known issue. I tried several possible solutions, none of them worked for me. It seems that the only solution is to wait for next release and hope they will fix this problem. In May or June the new version of DCS with new graphic engine should be released. So, maybe this will solve the problem.
  24. You're welcome. Happy Flying! :pilotfly:
  25. Exactly. You can call ground crew for repair and go for coffee... or beer ;)
