  1. I hope they do, the Sabre is a fantastic module but it seems to be missing some pretty important stuff (drop tanks...) that prevent it from really being as useful as it could be in missions. Hopefully we get some sort of update soon, even if it is just for the more glaring issues.
  2. Hopefully the first patch for the Sabre fixes the drop tanks, it seems that they are mostly implemented but need some minor tweaking.
  3. I am glad to hear that the MiG is now up for a possible release earlier than I expected (I don't personally think we will see EDGE or DCS 2.0 before late autumn), I will admit that hearing of it's delay for DCS 2.0 was a tough pill to swallow after seeing the project so close to release. Now, I am going to diplomatically avoid asking for a release date since you have already made it clear that no such hard date exists but I do have to ask, are we looking at weeks? Months? Days even? I understand if you can't provide anything, I know you have a news update coming and perhaps you want to save it for that but I will admit that a little hint would not go amiss :)
  4. So the tanks work? I mean, what would be the correct steps to not only use the tanks but to see that they are working?
  5. I have heard this sound as well, it sounds like it could be some sort of pump sound but it is hard to e sure.
  6. Thanks so much for the quick reply and clarification Cobra, I look forward to the next developer update.
  7. There is a post you made on the Russian side of the DCS forum that indicates that 1.2.9 is now the target version again, this was posted yesterday so perhaps you simply have not prepared any sort of statement or something like that. Still, this kind of thing can understandably get a person's hopes up, perhaps some clarification so we know a bit about what is going on, is DCS 2.0 still the release window you are going for or is it now 1.2.9? Here is the post in case it is needed. I can fully understand if you are not able to comment or perhaps don't want to comment but I will admit that the idea of getting this before ED gets to releasing EDGE is appealing to say the least :)
  8. I stand by my assertion that DCS should stay away from fixed wing ground attack for a while, at least until we have a variety of other fixed wings with different combat roles (air superiority, interceptor, etc). I mean, don't get me wrong, I would love the F-105 as much as the next guy, heck, I wiould love a A-6 a little more but we already have the A-10 and (to a slightly lesser extent) the Su-25, these can hold me over until we fill out the fixed wing mission roles a bit.
  9. I was inspired by this thread and finally managed to take a MiG-15 down with a guns in the Sabre. It was a tough fight but I found that if you can get in close and start taking shots, he can't really do much about it other than turn with you, eventually, that made him drop his speed enough that he could not get away. After a very long time, I was able to get him in my gunsight at a range that I could start really shooting, thankfully he went down. Good thing he did, I was down to just enough fuel to get home.
  10. I have to admit, I would rather working drop tanks than some new sounds at this stage, not having enough fuel for anything more than a very short mission is kinda a bummer at this stage. Still, it is a beta, I can't really complain.
  11. Another question then, Does Belsimtek always wait until a major patch release on ED's side before they patch anything themselves? I ask more out of general curiousity than anything else, I mean, if a 3rd party (partner or not) were to release a patch, would they always have to wait until a ED patch release?
  12. I suspect that some of this might be due to the fact that it is indeed still in early public beta, They are probably tweaking a lot of this stuff as we speak.
  13. First off, I just want to say that the Sabre is a fantastic module so far, I have not had this much fun in a DCS aircraft in a long time, in fact, my friends and I have already spent a great deal of time in the cockpit despite it only coming out a couple of days ago. So, anyway, with all that said, I just have a few quick questions.. 1.) Is there potential (I know you can't promise anything) for a few additional features/bug fixes on August 5th (when the Dora comes out)? 2.) Could you tell us perhaps what is already fixed on your end that we can expect to see when the next update does come out for it./ 3.) Is there any chance that implementation of the drop tanks could come with the next update specifically? I only ask because the Sabre has a pretty limited range and those drop tanks would open up the plane to a lot more potential missions that it really can't do at the moment. I understand if you don't wish to answer any of this stuff since you may have policies against that but it never hurts to ask and I am sure that some other folks here would find answers to these questions interesting as well. Thanks for the great module.
  14. I experience the same, the main tank decreases no matter if I have a tank selected or not.
  15. How exactly do we pressurize the tank? I don't really see a control anywhere in the cockpit to do such a thing.
  16. So, forgive me if this is a silly question but could someone explain how the drop tanks work in some detail, I know about the knob that you can turn to select the inboard, outboard or individual tanks but I it seems like I am still drawing fuel from my main tank when I have a set of inboard or outboard tanks engaged. Is there something I am missing?
  17. The GAR-8 missiles are not really done yet ,Belsimtek will be adding them in later.
  18. Freetrack does not work. Not sure why but my Freetrack does not work at all with the Sabre, every other module (including other Belsimtek modules) work perfectly with Freetrack but this one does not. This is a pretty big deal, I know a lot of folks have TrackIR so it may not effect them but that does not make this any less of a issue either way.
  19. I also can't seem to get it to use my freetrack. Hopefully this is addressed as a lot of us use Freetrack.
  20. Can you give us a rough idea of what systems we will have to work with in the beta? Will the damage model be largely complete?
  21. It is tough to say on this one, considering the recent news of a delay for the MiG-21, I would love for the Sabre to come out by the 25th, I need something to restore my faith in DCS and the timely release of the Sabre would go a long way on that. Hopefully we will see it Friday, I hope I am not getting my hopes up for a release that will get delayed (or has already been delayed and we have just not been told yet).
  22. I don't want to feel like I have to ask this question but release dates have been a very, very fluid thing in the world of DCS as of late and with the rather sudden change of plans for the MiG-21 release, I now feel that it might be good to see where you all stand. So, is the F-86 Sabre still on track for a July release? Is there anything we (as the waiting fans) should know about any potential or already changed plans in regards to the release? I don't ask this as a sort of "Tell me a release date!" kind of thing, I ask because plans change and sometimes the fans are not always kept in the loop so while you as developers may know about any potential delay, we don't and we may be waiting for a release that won't happen when we think it will. Just thought i would throw this out there.
  23. I can see that you are just interested in starting a fight, have fun with that.
  24. Wow, that was needlessly condescending.
  25. I know I probably will just get shouted down for asking but I have to. Are we looking at waiting till Winter for 'DCS 2.0'? I mean, I don't want to sound like a "Negative Nancy" here but this is not the first time that the MiG release has slipped, I mean, I know, I get that a lot of stuff can happen but it really is tough to go from being so close to release to being so far again. Seriously, I have been around this forum long enough to know that "later this year" could mean anything, please tell me that it does not mean late Winter or something like that.
