  1. Would you mind sharing more details on your home made collective? thanks
  2. Yes that was it. Strange thing was that when I started the mission the first radio you use was not turned on and I could not hear Biff at all. Saw that right away and turned it on.
  3. that is probably my mistake. I can't test it tonight as it is my anniversary and we are going out for dinner. But tomorrow I will
  4. yes both APU and APU inverter were on. I double checked. And no I saw no text appear, after 10-20 seconds it said hit space to confirm radio check. I did although I did not hear or see anything. then the message came about asking IP for frequency through the F1- Other menu. I went to the radio but no F10 Edit: I just went through it again. so the inverter goes to standby not on correct. right before we start the APU and power on the APU Generator. i noticed when the radios did not work again that the APU Gen warning light is blinking. On the radios, the are both set to MAN not AM or FM correct? I switched both to TR and entered the frequencies. I hear nothing. Peter
  5. I just started on the mission and I let Biff talk me through the start up. When we get to the radio tuning part, I set the frequency, 126.500 and turn knob to TR and even turn up volume but I don’t hear the radio check. Same for the other radio on 33.000. I double checked the frequencies and instructions in the message history. I don’t hear either radio call, please point out the stupid thing I am forgetting. Yes I have my helmet on
  6. I can't see your signature. It used to be at the bottom of the message. I use the Oculus2 with a AMD 5600X, AMD 6800, 32GB of memory and i can read the instruments and have a good framerate. it is all depends on your settings.
  7. I can only say it is worth the wait! And Miles has continued to develop and improve the product as a one man and one woman company. I can’t wait to order the new resin finger controllers.
  8. Serial number 10375 bricked tonight after 15+ years of flawless operation. Just when I am off for a week and was getting ready to fly a lot, ugh Peter
  9. Thank you Miles, FDM please and Merry Christmas to you too. I will send you a message with my email address. Peter
  10. Hi Miles, in the recent year I switched to a Quest2 and the HMS base plate was for my Quest headset I had before. This HMS base does not fit well on the Quest2. I recently got a 3D printer. Would it be possible to share the STL for the Quest2 HMS base? If not, no problem and I will buy it. Merry Christmas! Peter
  11. A couple of questions Jeff. Initially I am going tp build the UFC with the my TM MFD's next and below it. I don't need to have any button light up as I am flying only in VR. I might add some of the other buttons, like master arm A/A and A/G but I am not sure yet as I have the CTRLPoint controllers. I think the UFC is the most used. I have read the documentation several times so am I correct in saying that I don't need the diodes as they are for the LED's? I am not going to paitn the text as I don't need to see. Lastly I{ am trying to figure out how many of each of the button or dials I need as I am not going to model each button or switch. On another thought, How easy would it be to make the UFC swappable , meaning I could swap between the F18/F16 and A10? Looking at your picture I see all the Arduino USB cable come together in the hub behind the upper right panel. If I would make such that the UFC would not connect to anything would it be possible? You provide the Ardiuno sketches, does that show how to wire each button? It has been years since I used one. I build an automatic chicken coop door opener . IA m trying to see how I can adjust this for my VR onyl flying. Already ordered some of the buttons. Thanks, Peter
  12. Wow, thank you! This is day 2 of owning my Creality Ender 6 printer and I find this. I have been flying in VR for the last 2 years and my thought was that it eliminates the need for a cockpit especially because I have PointCTRL. But now that I have a 3D printer I am reconsidering. I would not need all the labels or different colors. I am going to see if I can remove them. If I decide to use these I will definitely donate to your PayPal account! Peter
  13. Maybe slightly of topic, but as buying a new GPU becomes a possibility again with increased stock, I am trying to figure out which one. I currently run a 2070 with an AMD 5600x and 32gb and a Quest2. Having followed the different treads, I think go for the card with the most vram. A 3080 or even 3080ti with “only” 12gb seem to not makes sense to me as I hear the newer maps need more memory. So I have been looking at the AMD 6800 with 16gb or the only other option the 3090. is my assumption correct? This card would only be used for DCS, no other games.
  14. I was 135 on this list I got mine in November 2019
  15. Curious too as I am trying to figure out which card I would select. Notice I did not say purchase . Even if I could find one I would not know which one. I lean towards AMD because of price/performance and don’t really care about ray tracing for other games.
  16. because I can't fly the same planes or dogfight, drop bombs
  17. StevanJ, I can agree with your points when you start from zero and have to buy everything. And regarding "It aint for everyone, its hard.. But then so is flying a real plane. If it was as easy as that, we'd all be pilots." I am private pilot with 430+ hours
  18. Hotas on your desk???? that is not a honest comparison. I have had my hotas setup at the right position and height since I started flying in VR. I just got the WheelStand Pro to replace my 1 year old Foxx clamps. My arms and hands are where they would be in a real plane. I have had it happen where I want to lean my elbow on the canopy rail to have my elbow fall down as it is not there off course. I would love to see a video of you using it. How do you do the small inputs when you do Air to Air refueling for example.
  19. Having my hand on the stick provides feedback on how much input I give. This is not asking to be too realistic. When I use VTOLVR and use the controllers I still have some feedback.
  20. And I feel you are waiving your arms in air as you have no feedback
  21. That’s right we can move it now, thanks
  22. Look at PointCTRL.com and the thread under input/output called VR pointing devices. It works great
  23. How I could I miss it?!?!?!?! well, when the kneeboard is shown in VR, the right side of the page is far away on the right side and the text is small. not your problem BD!
  24. BD, i have been staring at the briefing notes and I can't see it. I see the launch/recovery coordinates and times. I see the expected BRC:355. DVRT field Omam 266 55. I don't see the ILS frequency. sorry Peter
  25. would you mind sharing where you found it? flew M2 finally correctly only to have 3 bolters because i have no ILS. Cant find it
