Some great workmanship there. I particularly like how neat it looks with the centre panel screen. Do you fly any other DCS module and if so how does it look in that? Thanks for sharing. BTW Shrek Squadron is a friendly British based squad that has a group of regulars that fly from all over Europe. Some are A10 jockies...come on over you would be welcome.

Wow a really neat set up. I like the way it is so multi sim functional. The track ball and bottle of beer...quality! Regards

Great I really liked the way you built up the tension and coordinated the music to the action. Fantastic work...keep it up.

Sounds a great and ambitious idea VapoR. Good luck with it.

I don't have my MFD mounted on a monitor. I simply assign functions to the buttons. I have designed a slip in card with the information on. My problem was that I could not see the writing when I was flying online at night. At the local Pound Shop I found 10 green LEDs with a battery box and a switch. This gave me an idea. I have mounted them on a piece of board behind the clear plastic. The green light now shines through onto the back of my thin printer paper inserts. Hope this helps somebody or gives them an idea. I realise that this is a very simple project and a mile away from the guys on this forum who are so skilled at recreating replica sim pit. Much respect to you guys. But it is a simple project for the beginner. Happy flying

Two things occurs to me BBQ As your missiles fire ok but then just go dead...off to one side 1. There is no 'TA' above the 'C' in the Skhval. So the electronics don't seem to have a perfect lock. 2. An interfering lazer would send your missile off...Is there another missile around or does the AI have a jamming effect? Hope that helps

Well BBQ a great effort all those flying hours to test the missions. It is great to see that the original work by the Vergeev Group is not lost. Thanks to all who had some part in it. Regards & Respect

Good to hear Groove. Thanks

I see multiplayer (and the flight hardened multiplayers) as 'long term bread and butter' DCS supporters. I have even bought modules in the past just to support the development. eg: Combined Arms and A10C just sit on my hard drive. It is in these servers where you find supporters writing complex triggers and innovative ways to develop missions. I enjoy every minute flying in them and take my hat off to those that regularly host and develop missions. I feel sure that many working for DCS and those volunteer testers also see the value in us hard core supporters. I look forward to the next update where stability has been addressed. Yes I bought Mil8 when it came out and yes DCS & Wags etc did read and act upon the comments in the forums. I believe they are reading these comments about multiplayer and are working their way towards resolving the problems.

..any news on what the next Mil 8 update will bring us? ...or alternative....what do us Mil 8 jockies want?

I am so impressed with the fidelity of the DCS World that you can 'feel' the difference between the three helicopters in the simulation. The Mil 8 is another high fidelity product and I enjoy the challenge of flying it. I am really looking forward to the campaign and the future improvements

Please explain autopilot in mi-8
Trubshaw replied to hreich's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Some good stuff here. Well done Skulleader your English was clear. I enjoy the Mil 8 and do fly online, although just free flight missions at the moment, I am working on weapons!...no wonder you need 3 people the fly the thing. The greatest challenge for me are flight transitions ie from forward flight into hover taxi. A complex flight model like the Huey and KA. The KA has what I think are 'dampners' rather than autopilot for heading and altitude and pitch. The Mil 8 feels to me that it to has dampners. -

Does the paper come with a free scenery upgrade? of the Nevada variety? Am I the only one who is old enough to remember being told that early adopters of A10C would get a free upgrade? -

As Early Adopters..what is the poinr? I have been a real supporter of ED since the SU 27 range what is the point of early adopting? (and with the risk of getting banned) With A10C beta, which bought all those years ago, I was promised a free Nevada upgrade. Nothing happened. Recently bought Mil 8 Beta....only to be told that the same beta is now on sale for 19$. Am I the only one being taken for a ride? or a short ride in a FS? Please tell me ED and Wags what is the point of early adopting!!! Regards -
Mi-8 English helper in Cockpit

Excellent. The weapons system would be my wish...if you have the time. Regards -
We found 125 equally unstable. I think 124 was reasonably OK. I am talking about multiple aircraft complex trigger missions involving SEAD and JTACS. Is it really easy just to roll back? Anybody managed it and run stable servers?

Server keeps crashing, multiplayer Anapa Airbase mission.
Trubshaw replied to FlightControl's topic in Game Crash
At Shrek Squad we are also having server crash problems with complex missions written in previous versions. We also are having connection issues ie. members cannot see the server on the master list. However, Eno (who is no stranger to hosting missions) suggests and I quote "We're also seeing some benefit to renaming the servers saved games dcs folder- letting the game recreate it then moving custom settings back over. " For what it is worth. Hope it helps. I know all this is very complex stuff but it would be good for somebody at ED who knows the multiplayer code in depth to give us some help with these issues. Hope you get it fixed. If you do please share your knowledge. Regards -
Thanks all..we will look into your suggestions.

Thanks for the reply S77th pings are well under 100 and where can I find the 'tracert' stats? Regards

The feel of the TMWH adds to the immersion. It is solid and cold to the touch. The Saitek being plastic and more flexible does not feel the same. But you get what you pay for. I fly with some great pilots who use the X52 pro. My TMWH has not made me as good as them but it has made me fly much better. BTW I don't fly the A10 much but would imagine if you do if would have a greater effect on your sim. Bottom line...if you have the cash and you are in Flight Sim for the long haul buy one you won't regret it. But if in two years time you will have moved on to CoD or another hobby them you probably won't get your monies worth so stick to the Saitek. (no pun intended)

One of our major issues is that having put a server up members of the squad join and things seems ok. However, members trying to join later cannot see the server in the master list even after they re boot and members who leave cannot see the server to get back in. (trying to connect by IP has no effect) Is it just me? Anyone else have similar issues? Anyone know what I am doing wrong? Cheers....ps we had similar problems in 1.25 but not in 1.24 Any thoughts from this great community would be appreciated.

nescafe37...the Shrek Squad is UK based and would fit your bill. We fly most days in the afternoon and evenings UK time and use TS. Have a look at http://www.shreksquadron.org/ and maybe we will see you in the virtual skies one day.

DCS 1.2.5 Released, Update 2 Released
Trubshaw replied to SkateZilla's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Shrek Squadron uses the online multi player DCS world daily. It needs to be clear which version is currently in use and which is the Beta. I guess you guys will sort that out. Ideally it would be possible to load up one or the other. So that we can join in with the testing and flying in a more stable environment. On a personal note for many years I have supported you guys at Eagle Dynamics. I have had many hours of enjoyment and met some great people along the way. The Friday update is a great idea Wags. Just keep up the good work. -
It is good to see a slightly different approach. You seem to have a good pit, reasonably priced. Is it really running off a laptop?
