  1. I would agree with you. I did a DCS Repair then.. I cleared my KA50 controls and started again. ..very sluggish..
  2. A great idea on many levels Ells. It is great to see Devs, like VEAO, hosting community events for all. This event on this day has so much more meaning. Hats off to who ever thought it up. If there is a slot available I am in. Cheers
  3. I used two keys on my hotas because I feel I need to regularly centre my view while holding the stick and looking at the screen. If I look down to the key board my track ir follows me....does that make sense?
  4. Yes I get this corruption. I have 3 x 27inch monitors
  5. I have 3 identical monitors running in NVidia surround. Took me a while but after switching off the Full Screen radio button my problems were solved. Hope that helps
  6. A good paced video of the action. Cheers
  7. Thanks SiTHSpAwn for your quick reply. Looking forward to DCS World 2 all the same!
  8. Thanks for the replies. My questions still remain unanswered.... 1.Can you take off from the Nevada area and land on a carrier off the Californian coast? 2.Can you put patrol boats on Lake Mead? I have pre purchased the Nevada map....I may have to wait for my answers.
  9. OK so goto this video at 8.45 into the video Wags says.....the California coast!
  10. Well the as far a source goes my memory seems to tell me that in one recent video, that is since August, where Wags has been streaming or recording videos for DCS World 2 I think he said that the map extended to the coast.
  11. One issue I originally had with the Nevada map was that it had no obvious opportunity for ships. However, Wags said in one of his recent videos, that they have extended the map to include the coast line. So I guess ships can be deployed. Does anybody know if we could put gun boats on Lake Mead to defend the Hoover Dam from attack?
  12. Well I suggest you go to the google store and search for DCS. As for me I try to fly most modules. So there are generic information apps for DCS that show all the airfield data...so I know which runway to take. The tablet is good for checklists that are external to the game. There are even simple instrument exports that allow you to monitor key instruments simple by glancing down at the tablet. Hope that is food for thought! Happy flying
  13. Fourth Annual Shrek Squadron BBQ It was that time of year again. All police leave cancelled for 48 hours, air traffic control on high alert and special forces on standby......yes it was the Shrek Squadron BBQ weekend held at Swamp Central. Mr & Mrs Ogre opened the Swamp to all members for the yearly dose of superb Hereford Hospitality culminating in the BBQ on Saturday afternoon. TinTin and Mr&Mrs Catz arrived early in the week, Thursday saw Myself (Trubs), Symie and Ste touch base, Friday saw Wardy, Nebs, Balrog and Mr & Mrs Dragon land and Saturday saw Hawk, Pugwash, BigNewy,Fretless and BeeKay getting clearance. Friday saw us head to RIAT at RAF Fairford for the airshow. Highlights included the Mig 29, Airbus A400M Atlas, Osprey, the WW2 anniversary flight consisting of 6 Spitfires, 6 Hurricaines, a "Spanish" BF-109 (Merlin engine) and a Blenheim and of course the Red Arrows. Ogre was so impressed with the F15 that Symie and Nebs bought him one! This we are sure will take pride of place....in his loo! On the Saturday Ogre lit the fires early afternoon, but squadron orders were that no food was to be served until Fretless arrived...his train was inevitably delayed and finally, at 3pm, we bore witness to his smiling sartorial face. BUT STILL WE COULD NOT EAT!! Orge had two orders of business. First was to unveil the platform for the McSymie Meerkat at swamp central and secondly the naming ceremony for -=Shrek=-NoShow (formally known as Ste, who we see as infrequently as Hawks take-offs in the 109;-). Both treated with merriment and applause before scoff finally arrived! Another year of quality catering including BBQ chicken, salads and fish with Mrs Dragon's fruit salad to finish. Wardy set up his Occulus Rift on his laptop and after a little bit of configuring we were in the Elite Dangerous universe and clearly impressed by the potential of the technology. Symie hosted the Shrek Squadron Awards as Ant and Dec were double booked platting their naval fluff! The awards were bigger than ever. Symie's goodie bag seemed bottomless. Notable awards were given for services to the Squadron over the year including Best Mission Editor to Nebs, Funniest Moment to Trubs, Drama Queen of the Year to Wardy.....as always.... and Best Use of a Gimp Gag to Fretless. This was followed by the Squadron Official photos. Balrog's famous curry made an appearance for supper and the noise died down as we savored the spicy mix. Many stories from the years online flying ensued with many drinks were consumed and the light began to fade. Then PugWash mixed his submariner cocktail consisting of lots of rum topped up with ginger beer! ..in pint glasses!!! (How did he manage to drink 7 of them??) Having consumed this beverage I seem to remember a reasoned intellectual debate about tail numbers and the whereabouts of SHREK 93. In the small hours PugWash set up his radio control flight simulation and I recollect demonstrating some fine motor skills (Ding Dang Do ...ooopsie daisy and ave a word with yourself) before being guided back towards the hotel (well it was dark and I am very old). Ogre and TinTin were left to finish the evening with Wardy and NoShow. Sunday morning saw 'Breakfast at Tiffanies' or Sainsbury’s as they call it in Hereford with the usual debrief and Balrog being the star saving a woman from choking with his skills. It was great to see the effort many members of the squadron had made to be together for the annual BBQ. Company, conversation and hospitality were top drawer and a splendid time was had by all. However, as Wardy said, "we'll need another weekend to get over it"! Drama drama drama :-)
  14. Enjoyed the streams so far..thanks. Now Matt said that the NTTR map goes all the way to the sea. So will we be able to have ships as active units on the sea? Also will armed patrol boats be able to be placed on the lake? It would be great to protect the Hoover Dam from attack. Cheers
  15. Great video Low Blow. Clear video, audio and straight to the point. Thanks for sharing
  16. Well Holbeach....interesting stuff thanks for sharing. We have a training mission using the islands in the river near Tbilisi. I found that dropping the nuke in the water had a great visual effect and wiped out all target on the island.....it also damaged a member of our squadron who was watching in a p51! There was no brown flickering graphics. Not really answering your original question but just thought I would add to the thread.
  17. I would also like to know about Strobe light / Antic collision light Nav Lights Blade tips lights Yes I can click in the cockpit but I want to use my external switch panel and assign them to external switches. Are they missing from the code or am I just not seeing them?
  18. I really enjoy the fidelity of Belsimtek's models and like to have generic external switch panels for common tasks. However try as I may I cannot find the keybindings for Strobe light / Antic collision light Nav Lights Blade tips lights Yes I can click in the cockpit but I want to use my external switch panel and assign them to external switches. Are they missing from the code or am I just not seeing them? Cheers for any help
  19. Thanks xxJohnxx ....I seem to be having some trouble with mine.
  20. Has anyone managed to assign the push button engine start to an external switch? If so how have you done it? Thanks
  21. What a good idea Icebear. Thanks for sharing.
  22. Thanks guys, especially Socket 7. Any UK suppliers?
  23. Hi guys....where do you get your simpit switches from? ...any really good sites out there? Cheers
  24. For me it was the 'Turn indicator' that helped me crack taking off. You are right the Dora tends to try to twist, as a result of torque, from a very powerful engine, you try to compensate with rudder, over do it and you crash. Keep an eye on the turn indicator...keep it centred using gentle rudder inputs and the Dora will take off for you. Hope that helps.
