From my experience. (Shrek Squad fly multiplayer many times a week) MP was very unstable a few versions ago but ED and the testers have managed to sort a lot of issues out. We rarely have problems now. Issues did occur with some scripts and if a member joined with a low ping. Now apart for a micro stutter when some people join later in the mission and the FPS hit with some gun runs we rarely have serious problems.

3rd Shrek Squadron Annual Swamp Meet and BBQ 2014
Trubshaw replied to Trubshaw's topic in Squadron News
Thanks guys....I would encourage all who enjoy this fantastic hobby to get together with like minded people. -
Another eventful year in the DCS World and Shrek Squadron. Has resulted in a reasonably stable multiplayer 1.28 and a reasonable stable Orge! As is customary day 1 saw us at a museum, this year RNAS Yeovilton and day 2, the BBQ itself. His Orgeness himself hosted Shrek Squadron’s event of the year that has now grown to include active flying members, inactive members friends and family. This year several first timers at the swamp meet. Hawk, Wardie, Symie & Fretless. We only knew them as familiar voices in our heads but they turn out to be real and just as enthusiastic about flight as we are. Turns out Symie, on his best behaviour can even hold a conversation without belching! A special mention to Mrs Dragon for being the only female and for the excellent fruit salad! Founder members Dragon and Balrog joined us again, TinTin, BigNewy, BeeKay and Trubshaw were ever present. TinTin coming over from Holland on his motor bike this year. Apologies were offered from Catz, Nebs and Carsten. Unofficial prize giving saw Hawk and Trubs getting mugs, cheers Tin Tin. However, Symie stole the show with a ‘no parking’ sign for Hawk, an ‘Awesome" T Shirt for BigNewy and a ‘Drama Queen’ award for Wardie. Ogre’s swamp was looking particularly good and the BBQ was the best since time began with fish dishes that Rick Stein would be proud of! Food and drink flowed well into the night amid tales of online coop flying with the squadron with the biggest laughs for, "well what do you want an e-mail?" and "SAM going Hi!" Just when we were flagging along came Balrog’s curry and sticky rice…quality. The final session of the evening in the wee small hours saw us retire to Ogre’s ‘executive shed’ for coffee before wending our way back to our beds. Active Shrek Squadron Members at the BBQ Back Row: BigNewy, BeeKay, Wardie, Hawk, TinTin, Symie and Trubshaw Front Row : Fretless & Orgeman A very special thanks to Mr & Mrs Ogre for opening up their home and making such an international group of reprobates feel so welcome. Lets hope we will be flying in The Edge Engine for the next BBQ.

I pen an open letter to Eagle Dynamics
Trubshaw replied to O_Smiladon's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Some good points made about the DCS WWII situation. I too supported the Kickstarter with hard earned and am happy to have DCS take it under its wing. After all what was the alternative?.....the whole thing just folding? As said before I will just be happy to see a DCS new map and WWII planes and ground vehicles. -

Thanks for the extra info Mike.....I am sure it will come in useful as a check if others have a similar fault. Glad you up and running. Cheers -
Thrustmaster HOTAS Problem
Trubshaw replied to Mike Busutil's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Glad to hear Mike. But please don't leave it there! To help others in the future..... ..what exactly did you take apart?....The joystick? ..and which wire was broken eg: colour and finally why do you think it broke? Cheers....it all helps the community. -
Neat job gothicghost. I have done something similar and back lit them with green LEDs. Then I print on thin printer paper inserts for each MFD and the green light shines through the paper so that I can fly and read then at night! Just an idea.

Addon Tents, Watchtower, UH-1-Cargo
Trubshaw replied to upuaut's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Brillant work upuaut. They really look up to DCS standard and something we could really do with. Especially the under slung loads and new tents. Do they all have a 'damage model'? ie: if you bomb/ shoot/ crash into them do they deform/damage? I would really like to see good work like this in DCS World base so that all can enjoy. Cheers -
Yes with complex on line missions we have experienced frame rate problems.

Wow Romeokilo.....what a fantastic effort. looks like a great set of controls you are building up for yourself. Thanks for sharing ..it is always good to see other enthusiasts ideas.....any rough ideas of what you have spent? Cheers

Hi Doveman, I went to a few car scrap yards and I have got....what is for me a perfect seat. It is a passenger seat, because that is the seat least used, from a people carrier. I think it was a Citroen Picassa. It even has a fold up arm rest....great for stabilising my joystick arm and swivels. I mounted it rails and all on concrete building block with some wood and bolts. If you are interested I can give you more details. Regards

Yes there does seem to be a difference between what you see of and aircraft and what other see of you. It is some sort of synchronisation problem. In MP it is more of a problem. however over that past few versions it has got better.

MY FARP TEMPLATE LAYOUT !
Trubshaw replied to Spanker79's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Some really good work. How easy would it be to incorporate these object in the Free DCS World?... ...and why don't they do it? It seems to me that we have had all these new modules but no extra ground features that go with them. -
Well msalama I am not expert but when flying multiplayer it we have found that you may have put a fire out according to your graphics....but to others flying and looking at you plane you still look as though you are on fire.
-
Yes as Magic say check network connection and ping rates of all concerned. We always fly in MP and a solid server is always a must. Cheers
-
This sometimes happens to me. However check your multi player connection settings. Change the speed setting to one that matches your modem/connection. Try LAN as a connection speed. Hope this helps

Well Simulatoregp I have watched this thread with amazement! What a fantastic simulator. Great work all round you should work for Kamov! Please keep sharing.
-
If you try to enter an aircraft in mp that you do not have a registered copy of.....or you Dcs does not recognise the serial number.....you get kicked to an Outside view. Check your serial number in module manager.

Excellent work and thanks for sharing. We have a truly international hobby.

Good video. Well produced, edited and great sound track. Looks like your squadron enjoy flying DCS.
-
We'll from my experience the screen can be offset. However, while the multi player programme is loading if I keep clicking, left mouse button, on the desktop of my centre monitor the image loads perfectly...almost every time. That may help or be totally irrelevant.;)
-
Some good screen shots there and confirms to me the level of fidelity the final simulation will be. Appreciate the update and good luck with the future coding. My money well spent, so far any way.

Mi-8 cold start and weapons cheat sheet
Trubshaw replied to zal's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Thanks. Just printed it out will give it a try. Keep up the good work. Regards -
Thanks guys but I don't seem to be able to zoom out far enough to save a default position. For example 126 SU25T Free flight ...the pilot position is sitting well back. same flight in 127 the pilot view is much near the HUD? What has changed?
-
I have just connected 3 monitors together using an NVidia 770. Frame rates seem good. However, the default zoom seems too close. I do have cockpit zoom set up on a slider but I would like the default setting set back about 30cms or so. Any ideas what I change in the lua code and where do I find the file to edit? Any help would be appreciated. Regard
