  1. Agreed. Autounhook is the way forward.
  2. Thanks for this guide. I am trying it out. I have three 27 inch screens and sometimes find the base settings awkward.
  3. Use your kneeboard to find out exactly where you are. The way points are marked if I remember correctly. Hope that helps.
  4. Yes quite a different type of mission. I have seen helicopters fly in thick fog in the Alps with sling loads but never at night! For this mission I used the ADF to find the airport and then used the landing light and search light. You can move them so the show up like two big spot lights on the ground to follow the valley. Hope that helps.
  5. Go for it. This campaign forces you to master many things about the Huey. Sling loads being just one of them.
  6. This is exactly the issue I have problems with. 3x 27inch monitors 5760x1280 and Nvidia surround. modules the FOV is just right for me: eg. the F5E others I have edited lua files in the past eg: Mig 21 However, online server integrity checks, get me kicked from joining. So I have set up a 'vanilla' install to fly online. The Mil 8's slider is the way forward. All modules should have one. Especially now with so many different types on monitors. Cheers for the suggestions I will try a curve. BTW the are many times I cannot see targets while in the cockpit view but F2 to just behind your plane and you find them easily. Deezle do you find this? The two screen shots below clearly show the problem. Inside the incoming plane is almost invisible. From the outside it is a formed graphic.
  7. You are such a star with your manuals. Thanks
  8. Inspiring flying guys. I hope to see more. Cheers
  9. I really enjoyed the who thing. It was good to see good virtual pilots and how they approach such a battle. The 'backroom staff' also did a great job from the mission designer through to the commentators. Respect to all you guys. Thanks again. Did the Migs just start up faster/ or did they have a shorter taxi run? How come they got off to such a fast start?
  10. Has anybody got such a list? It seems that all developers use G=Gear P=drag cute etc. I wonder if ED dictate that they use certain key bindings eg: external views when third parties sign up to do a module. Anybody done any work on it that they are willing to share? Cheers
  11. A good piece of DLC like this is always an incentive to revisit a module and improve your skills. Good luck with it Gregzagk.
  12. Hi Leadlag, Don't know if it is related but the latest Nvidia driver update dropped my fps to 5. I checked other games and similar fps drop. I read around and came across a free utility call DDU Display Driver Uninstaller. It is free and no I have no connection to it. It completely strips you system of Nvida even cleaning the registry. After a reboot you pc uses the windows generic driver to give you a basic dispay. You then reinstall a Nivia driver and my fps went back to 50-100. I suggest that if your problem continues you have a read around and consider using this utility. My video card is a GTX 980ti by the way. Cheers
  13. As a probable work around try putting a Mig 21 in the mission on the ground at an airport. When you first load the mission into your PC some of the Mig 21 textures will then already be there. This may reduce the 'freeze time' as the module loads when in the middle of a mission.
  14. Sorry woofer15 I cannot help but I feel your pain! There must be something doing this because I know many people who don't get such regular and repeatable crashes. If you don't get any joy I suggest you send BIGNEWY a personal message and ask for his help. I know he has a lot of experience in trouble shooting DCS. Take care
  15. This is an interesting debate but for me textures can be a matter of personal preference, take for example the Hawk cockpit texture! However, the most important thing is to make the environment believable and that can be very subjective. Instead of more textures that some people will like others not I would like to see the very angular pyramid type mountains and hills changed like the ones if you fly into the mountains north of Gudauta. I guess this is terrain mesh. And yes like many supporters of ED over the year from their Su 27 years I really would pay to see the Crimea back. Having spent a great deal of my spare time over the past 20 odd years in a virtual environment created by the professionals at ED I have to say that, on balance, they have done a great job and long may it continue!
  16. Ok and thanks to BIGNEWY. Sorted it without any fps change. Changed line 3 "CameraViewAngleLimits = {20.000000,140.000000}" from 140 to 190 Now I can see all critical instruments and the hud in the same view.
  17. Thanks Akki. I have tried that but it simply will not zoom out far enough. I have three monitors and I want the cockpit to fill the middle monitor with the other two showing peripheral vision. Other modules have .lua scripts that can be edited in order to limit /extend zoom. I simply cannot find the correct file for this pit.
  18. Does anybody know how to zoom out further than the default? Yes I have tried the numpad snap view zoom....not far enough back. For the Mig 21 you need to edit a lua file. Does anybody know where the value for the zoom limit is on the L 39? Cheers
  19. Well for what it is worth I use a cheap tablet for all that info including Teamspeak.
  20. That is really good news Dinitriov and your campaign seems interesting. As someone who has purchased every module I was worried by a recent module that came out of beta with no campaign! With DLC campaigns I was thinking that maybe we would have to buy campaigns as extras. Good luck with the coding.
  21. Good luck to you guys. An interesting development not only form the point of view of the plane but this sort of open community point of view. I look forward to meeting you in the virtual skies.
  22. Just flown the Su25T in single player. Trim assigned to joystick POV 1 keyboard equivalent RCtrl +; and RCtrl +. All works fine for me. Check while on the ground.....you can see the in cockpit stick move as you trim. Hope that helps.
  23. Tremendous news. All the best to you and yours. If you see a Shrek Squadron Server up please come and join us on TS. You would be most welcome!
  24. Yes same pedal and same effect... However....I think I will try an to use the axis tune facility to put a curve on the brake axis so that the effect will be gently braking for the first movement then increasing in force.... ...will let you know how I get on..
  25. Thanks for the post. It was a great event I really enjoyed it on many levels. The bonus being that Ells and PMan stayed on comms and gave us a great insight to the world of the developer. I really hope more devs do events like this that bring the community together.
