Think I might finally understand Trim problem!
TurboHog replied to doveman's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Watch the promo video for my KA-50 JTAC mod. Follow link in sig. Watch and Listen how I trim. No FFB and no special settings such as center trimmer mode. I'm using a Thrustmaster T16000 and I have used a Logitech 3D Pro in the past. Never had problems with either of them. (But the T16000 feels a million times better though :)) There shouldn't be a reason to complain. It may sound a bit harsh and arrogant, but I think it's a matter of your flying skills and not the sim. In the video there are no large changes in stick position. However, there is also no bumping for me when I take off and set to virtual stick from hover to FFF position after accelerating with the trimmer held down. -
World BS english RICARDO HD Blue pit
TurboHog replied to RICARDO's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Do make sure that you let Ricardo know how to make the cockpit textures blue from the external view as well. I was looking forward for that little detail! -
Think I might finally understand Trim problem!
TurboHog replied to doveman's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I have always been a fan of Flight Director but I fly with AP only now for a couple of months. I hold down the trimmer if I want to do something special. Engaging targets in FF is so much easier! I have the central trimmer mode option disabled and I use a non FFB joystick. No problems and never had problems. I just let the stick center the moment I release the trimmer. I do not experience any bumps on releasing the trimmer and I'm not even letting the stick go. Even without an FFB joystick I don't understand why there are so many complaints about the trim system and the infamous 'bump'. I must be doing something right... :) -
Thanks for posting these Griffin!

NP If a Russian KA-50 is in the same coalition with a NATO country it will work. That is because of three reasons: - NATO.lua contains the codes for JTAC, as opposed to USSR.lua - NATO units have the FAC waypoint tasks enabled in the ME. - Something else I havent figured out yet I'm trying to figure out how to make a USSR coalition use JTAC. It's not as simple as copy and paste.

@Weta43 My JTAC mod also works in MP, provided that you have the correct R-828 presets. I have chosen most common freqs like 30, 31, 40. 95% of the online missions makes use of one of the preset frequencies. Furthermore you can give A10 pilots L/L DMS coordinates and vica versa.

Absolutely not compatible with US systems. But I dont see a problem there. There are work-arounds and there is teamspeak. For JTAC, which is not a standard feature, see my sig.

KA-50: Functioning Iglas (POC) Howto!...
TurboHog replied to Ebs's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Cool! Are you going to release this as a mod? EDIT: Just read that the KA-50 could take the R-73 on the outer pylon. Igla was wingtip mounted I don't think that is going to be realistic without changing the model... -
I don't know. It should still be english for Mp compatability I think. With Russian subtitles.

Ka-50 JTAC Campaign: Operation Jackal
TurboHog replied to Quirkitized's topic in User Created Missions General
Excellent! Will start flying my first mission asap! -
JTAC is only in English if you have the English version. You will have to update USSR.lua to include the JTAC code. In addition you will have to update the Russian units in the ME to enable the FAC tasks.

I think it has something to do with DCSW 1.2.3. Some additional models and files are required to make the Huey MP compatible and I believe DCS World has to be updated for every module, 3rd party or ED. ED cannot give any info about their release of the patches, so the same goes for Belsimtek. This is just a theory, nothing confirmed. If it turns out otherwise then I have to agree with you. Belsimtek is very 'closed' about their product compared to other third party projects. Especially if you realise that DCS Huey is supposed to be almost finished, yet we haven't seen only a glimpse of anything but the exterior that we already have acces to. The promise: 'release this year' still stands. But they'd better be realistic and/or honest. So Belsimtek is a bit strange in their communication with the community but that can (hopefully) be explained by the DCSW 1.2.3 reason... We'll see...

Operation Bactria (MP COOP 14), Afghanistan CAS
TurboHog replied to Habu23's topic in User Created Missions General
Hey Habu, Looking forward to V3. I like this type of mission. After playing it a couple of times with 2 players this is what I've found: - In some occasions there are just too many insurgent forces. For example: In the mission where you protect a crash site there are 8 * 3 units inbound. Besides the fact that this is not a realistic number for a Taliban style insurgent force you can't really do a second mission after competing that one. We want to fly a mission, refuel, and do another one. - Make the tankers fly a little faster. I remember the airspeed was just above 160kts for Arco. The 220kts that you've set is groundspeed. Hope it helps... -
Isn't there something wrong with the new missile AFM? R60 does not reach mach 2.7 (ok I admit the source is wikipedia, but still). Is this a maximum possible speed when launched at mach 2 or something? On the other hand, the SA-9 missile just about breaks the sound barrier while it should be capable of doing mach 1.8... I see in the update list 'R60 data adjusted'. But nothing about the SA-9. Something wrong with the AFM?

What a coincidence. I played Bactria yesterday too with a friend. The UK flight task with the ambush from the tree line. There are like 60 soldiers. Did some gun passes but after spending 500 rounds I decided to use a Jdam. The gun rounds performed not as expected.

Noted. You will get an extra decimal bonus. JTAC now transmits XX'XX.XXX in v1.3. Due to be released after World v1.2.3

Isn't this a weapons' model that will be used for the Huey that is due to be released before the end of the year?
-
It would be nice if we could get our hands on the manual before the release... I like to know how things work before I fly. I've already got a small part of the manual about autorotation...

I think it is important for a combat simulator to have a very detailed (conflict) theatre. It is better to have a very accurate Afghanistan map than a large and less detailed map of an entire continent. The maps in combat sims must be an accurate representation of a real or potential conflict zone. my 2cts...

Find the files that are replaced. They are in different folders. For example. comm.lua has a different name and should be somewhere in the sound folder. Can't help you further. I hope you can figure it out yourself.
