  1. That is not true. It is not supersonic at the moment of launch. The missile motor (booster) produces the sound while it is not moving or not moving very fast with respect to the helicopter. Even if it does move away and breaks the sound barrier, you will hear the sound with some delay. Or is your cockpit in a vacuum? Last three questions: - The altimeter switches from AGL to MSL... - MSL, yes. - Read manual about autopilot and the use of route mode in conjuntion with the PVI-800 navigation system.
  2. Because the shark's Shkval is realistic.
  3. Rocket sound is not really realistic. See my sound mod. I tried to make the external sound as realistic as possible. Internal sound is still low volume. There are two A/A buttons. One of them (Low left) enables gun tracking and Vikhr proximity fusing for all aspects other than high aspect. The upper right button (Head-on airborne target) changes delay settings for the proximity fuse to ensure a better effect on airborne targets in a forward hemisphere (High aspect, like when an F-15 flies towards you).
  4. See sig for better missile/rocket sound. The rest is answered already. Read the manual for additional instructions on how to engage air to air. Vortex ring is also explained. You won't be dissapointed if you read the manual.
  5. Well it is possible. But it's a workaround that needs some preparation time. See edit in post #2
  6. In the DSMS: Select either ripple single or ripple pairs and enter the desired number of bombs (or pairs) to be dropped in one sequence. Hold down the trigger on release untill the desired number of bombs were released. Edit. I should read more carefully. A possibility is to make several markpoints. Drop your bombs at your Markpoint steerpoints and switch to the next markpoint to drop the next bomb there. This procedure is quite similar to multiple JDAMS in one run.
  7. Thank you! Added to my pdf collection of charts :)
  8. Connecting is pretty easy now. But this boom operator no longer sais 'transfer complete' to me. Just 'disconnect' when full. Anyone else noticed?
  9. But do admit that he used great after-effects, great music (his own), excellent camera angles etc etc. And you got goosebumps ;) Yes it works. Will require some time to settle in now. If I remove duct tape mouth opens again. Because woooohhh this is a perfect creation.
  10. Could somebody help me please? I can't close my mouth.
  11. You are Dutch right? Where is the Patriotism? Whether this reflects your personal opinion or not. This is the plane of our air force so everybody haz to like ! :P:P :D
  12. When I see coordinates in MP (not described in previous link): PVI to Edit mode Select a new waypoint (i.e. press Nav Tgt, then '1') For positive coordinates press 0, for negative press 1. In this theater coordinates are positive. After selecting positive or negative, enter the north coordinate untill it appears in the upper display. Press 0 again to enter positive east coordinate and enter them. After it appeared in the lower display, the enter button will light up because the coordinates are complete. Press enter and put the PVI in operational mode. Select your new waypoint. Now you can navigate to your custom waypoint. See manual, PVI-800 section for more info. I think it's better to use the PVI since it is connected to your autopilot. In case of a TGT waypoint, it will also appear on the ABRIS. So you have 2 in 1.
  13. I've noticed a difference between rocket splash damage between 1.1.1.1 and World. You need an almost direct hit, even on an AAA position (That dies with 1 hit of 30mm or 23mm, try it.) You need to be at a much closer range now, which is realistic. However, sometimes a burst of 5x2 rockets in the KA-50 does not kill a soft vehicle, while it completely disappears in the explosions (I do high angle, close range attack).
  14. Yes it works here! We had this chat an hour ago so I thought let's give it a go. Works as advertised so this mod, or actually fix, will stay . Frett.
  15. In my opinion the Thrustmaster T16000 is the best stick in this price range. It has the best feel and tension I have ever experienced on a joystick. It is the ceapest joystick with hall-sensors on the X and Y axis. It does not have many buttons on the stick, most of them are located on the base. Apart from that it's great. I use the saitek throttle quadrant so can't comment on the throttle. I use it for brakes and I can achieve smooth and proportional braking. If you dont want TrackIR. Try FacetrackNOIR, its free. And you'll never want to go back afterwards.
  16. The average human eye can't detect individual frames after 24 fps. Im running 20-25 fps depending on the mission. No stutters. It's fine.
  17. Had the same joystick. Now using TM T16000 with halls sensors. Only disadvantage is less buttons on the stick itself. There are 12 on the base and 4 + a hat switch on the stick. Feeling and tension is the best I have ever felt for a joystick. Better than the entire Saitek range. Bought for 45 euro's. So that is in your requested USD price range.
  18. '2' for path hold '3' for hdg and alt hold '4' for alt hold 'a' to turn on or off
  19. Pic 2, 3 and 4 bob, made my day! :megalol::lol:
  20. What you describe is something completely different. I describe the steps required for engaging an x amount of targets with an x amount of bombs. Unless you're unbelieveably fast in changing SPI, your method is how to kill 1 target with an x amount of bombs.
  21. Ah thank you for the info! I guess all these sources copied wikipedia or something. Still wondering what the MWS operation mode switch does. I set it to active jamming but, according to the tooltip, this switch is not functioning. I guess it is a switch for potential testing of an MWS system and is not functioning in the real KA-50 either. Is that right?
  22. #27 doesn't have the ABRIS, but instead what EvilBivol described: A paper map display. So, the KA-50's (all of them) are not combat-ready anymore? One person in a combat heli looks like a bit of a failed experiment. Very strange indeed that all internet sources keep saying: 512 flares/chaffs. Would be nice if there was a real UV-26 manual available. And that last picture... Black Shark 3? ED come on! :smilewink:
  23. And they will both go to the same SPI. Whats the point? GBU-12's can not be dropped on multiple targets in one run. JDAM's can be dropped on different targets in one run. Create mark points (TMS right short) at the location of each unit you want to engage. Now set your CDU to 'marks' mode to cycle through your markpoints. Or make a new flight plan if you want a specific order in your markpoints. Now start your run. Make sure that SPI is set to steerpoint and slave your TGP to steerpoint (China Hat aft long). In this setting, when you cycle through your markpoints, your TGP will also switch between the targets at the corresponding markpoints. Now drop the bomb on the first markpoint, quickly switch to the other markpoint and release again... etc. Some altitude is recommended here to make sure that there is enough space for the bombs to manoeuvre to the target.
