Is it normal that I want to run outside and scream? :D

When someone offers his or her help to improve grammar in a text, why is it that the first thing people do is to point out the apparent irony that they have found? Thanks Sabredog for offering your help...

And how does stall speed change in IAS? It remains the same or becomes lower?
-
Aren't the adverse high speed aerodynamic effects based on (absolute) airspeed. Suppose I try to prevent these effects from happening I must be flying 200kts indicated at 40000ft. You can not even a do very simple manoeuvre. Surely that can't be right?
-
There seems to be something wrong with it. Try flying 250kts IAS at 40000ft in neutral (default) weather conditions. It behaves much like when you are flying too fast at low altitude (unintentional rolls). Try pulling a 2g turn and you will tumble out of the sky. I suppose that's not what it should do? Or is it really that uncomfortable to fly at high altitudes?

I can move the altimeter towards 30.00 and above and it will display on the instrument. I can adjust the altimeter setting to below 29.92 (I was able to set QFE 29.63, with altitude on the airport reading 0ft), but it is not shown on the instrument. See track provided. Mods: We desperately need a bug report sub-forum. Altimeter Bug.trk

During my flight light roll problem with left wing...
TurboHog replied to Skulleader's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
It's called 'wingheaviness'. From the product page: High speed Between high indicated airspeed and Mach number (within the flight restrictions), a series of unique characteristics manifest themselves in aircraft behaviour. Starting at Mach 0.9, unintentional roll (wingheaviness) (to the left or to the right) manifests itself and it strengthens as the Mach number increases up to its limit values. Appearance of this wingheaviness is associated with the geometric asymmetry of half-wings and also with their unequal flexural-and-torsional load-deflection curves. The wingheaviness is accompanied by a significant decrease of the aileron effectiveness related to wave effects and wing deformation during their deflection. The airflow compressibility influence on longitudinal flying qualities at high speeds remains insignificant up to the Mach 0.95. With further increase of the Mach, the aircraft demonstrates excessive tendency to pitching-up, the compensation of which requires additional pushing force on the control stick. Due to the above-mentioned peculiarities of the aircraft behaviour, the indicated air speed is restricted to 600 knots. Reason: Developing wing heaviness at considerable decrease of the aileron effectiveness (at high values of the Mach number) and additional wing bending and wing torsion under the action of the airflow at aileron deflection. Acceleration higher than the value of the Mach 0.93 is only possible when decending. -
FOV is actually in View.lua, located in the F-86 mod folder. It is 85 by default, which makes it look pretty zoomed out. I've changed it to 76 (Line 29), which I believe is a good trade-off between a normal zoom level and panel visibility (single 16:10 monitor) The file also contains eyepoint, local point, angle limits, shoulder size, 6dof limits, snapviews etc. Basicly it is server.lua and snapviews.lua in one file.

Check this video for bombing with the manual pip bombing system.
-
It means throttle is (almost) idle while the landing gear is up.
-
And does anyone have an F-86 or a CAC Sabre pilot's manual? I can only find an F-86E manual that costs money...

Awesome video's! Who is able to record a video doing some over-the-shoulder bombing?

Bearing from one waypoint to the next. If you fly exactly on the line between your waypoints, the Desired Heading to waypoint will coincide with the Desired Track Angle. There is a switch to select DTA or DH mode for route mode autopilot and adjusted visual cues on the HUD. DTA mode will make you fly on the straight line between two waypoints, If you are not on this line the autopilot will intercept it. DH will take you directly to the waypoint, shortest route from wherever you are.

I'm really hoping for some kind of GPS device. One that is not integrated but simply strapped to your leg or attached to the windscreen/dash. In my squadron the Huey operates in a modern scenario along with A10C's (Trans/CSAR ops). I think most of the people actually fly the huey on the modern battlefield, except in dedicated Huey servers or squadrons. GPS must therefore be togglable.

Public inquiry. What is your PC video card?

It's rather pointless to plan performance with the current FM. See my post: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1872872&postcount=4 The above still applies. It's based on the manual with changes 1-19 (including composite blades).

Now we have 1.2.8, when engine temp will be implemented?
TurboHog replied to sondo214's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Talking about torque and EGT: sometimes over 25% less/more respectively at given cruise speed compared to test data. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1872872&postcount=4 Based on latest UH-1H operators manual with changes 1-19. Including composite main rotor blades. -
20% less fps in my fps benchmark mission. Very dissapointed .

PilotMi8 from Belsimtek is a retired Mi-8 military pilot. Having an SME in the actual dev team is awesome!

We at 319th vFW are happy to test fly a new version. We are using 1.2.7 as long as 1.2.8 is in open beta. Things we have noticed so far: The green smoke is apparently a continuous trigger (to keep the smoke turned on). If you're up close your framerate dies. Very laggy (CPU-intensive because even low frames on F10 map) because of 1200+ units. Maybe reduce the amount of units in a town. For testing we will remove the infantry patrols as it gives a huge FPS boost. (You will probably not notice with your CPU). The FM homing on the OP's doesn't works for clients. However, I did pick up a signal (morse and direction) in single player. Only the spawned infantry requesting extraction transmits a good signal for MP clients. The mortar attack on OP Charlie is terribly effective. We killed the mortar team after they were able to fire for ~2 minutes. 77 Dead soldiers at OP Charlie (that is all infantry, no exceptions) Random messages to dog flight about 'boots on the ground', while none of us have inserted troops (could it have something to do with the AI Huey flight?). Does the power station attack work? I drop troops next to it but no feedback whatsoever... Please add ground power support on the FARPS We were forced off comms for like 3 mins during the mission succes music. Apparently it was too loud for the others (not for me though). Maybe make it shorter. Maybe change the text <player> extracted troops to <player> picked up troops if you are picking up troops from a FARP or OP. We're not really extracting them to return them to their base. Quite the opposite actually. What about incorperating Ranger79's base objects? You can make the already awesome looking OP's even more awesome! Hope this already helps

I would pay for the fan in the Mi-8 though...

I actually did that for my squad. Only downside is that you are still limited to 8 soldiers. It's a really nice mission. We fly it all the time and replayability is great with all the random stuff. I did remove all the infantry patrols though to gain 10fps.
