  1. I watched the track, thats exactly the same problem Im having. Ive been fiddling around a bit more yesterday, what worked best was to first trim roughly and then slowly fine tuning the newly-set trim. But from what Ive seen in RL footage, most of the time the Pilot only clicks once, the trimmer instantly reengages, and the helicopter doesnt overshoot. So my theory is: somehow ED might have modeled in the effect of the hydraulics disengaging, after which the pilots hand overshoots. This might be realistic for non-force feedback joystick owners, but its not practical to have, since that makes the trimming unneccessarily hard and for those, who have a FFB stick its a double Simulation. The second way this could be explained would be a lack of expertise, which I highly doubt, since Kamov might not be interested in presenting their helicopter in a bad way and ED has proven their Knowledge countless times. Could we have an official word on this, if this is supposed to be that way, or if theres a way to solve it?
  2. Interesting, that would cancel out all the problems involved with the spring force suddenly disappearing. Does it happen to you with center-spring-trimming ON, too?
  3. Recently Ive tried to trim "the russian way", but it doesnt seem to work for me: It seems to "overshoot" every time i make a maneuver without holding the button down for the whole time. For example: Im turning left to line up the shark with the runway, so once im lined up, neutralizing my left turn with right cyclic and rudder, i blip the trimmer, expecting the helicopter to hold the attitude i just established. But what it does instead, is to yaw right, with the nose slowly pitching down and banking left. I know, since im using a Force Feedback stick that theres some amount of error involved, due to the stick suddenly becoming loose and my hand still applying force to it, but that doesnt explain the movements going on. So my question is: How do real life russians fly the helicopter with constant clicking of the trimmer? Is their stick harder to push, forcing them to make smaller inputs, which are probably handled better by the autopilot? Or is it my Stick having too much force, thus making me "overshoot" my movements? Thanks for any answers, since im very interested in flying "the correct way" and i cant stand the loose stick when i constantly hold down the button.
  4. I cant describe how happy i am at the moment!! This is going to be so much more fun now :) Huge Thanks to ED for putting that patch out, especially the Dogfights will be a lot more challenging and interesting now, now that you actually have to care about your engine!
  5. A short TMS up should fix that.
  6. Hey guys, I flew the challenge campaign for a bit and noticed, when I was in Mission 09, where youre supposed to fly through the City, I saw only flat ground. This might be because of my Graphics Options, which are all on LOW. Maybe some higher settings should be enforced for this mission.
  7. By leaving it on ;) On a more serious note: The Autopilot channels in the Black Shark arent exactly Autopilots in the same way as they are in a conventional aircraft. They wont switch themselves off, but will constantly try to hold the parameters you tell them to hold. That is done by releasing the Trim Button, so I suggest you either hold down the Trim Button during your maneuvers or you give some quick input "fighting" the Autopilot in order to line up your shots. Both alternatives work fairly well, also if youre hovering you can use "Auto turn to Target", which will do the exact same thing except you wont have to fight the autopilot. I suggest you read more into how the Trimmer mechanism works and all of a sudden it wont feel as weird as it probably does right now :)
  8. Thanks alot, thats most likely going to solve it :)
  9. Hello guys, Ive flown a couple missions with the A10 today, somehow the Trim Hat in the cockpit is not working. It moves as if it was functioning, but the aircraft doesnt react to the trim input. Is this a bug, or did i miss a switch there?
  10. I can vouch for that, got ripped to pieces by him the day before yesterday.
  11. Especially the Hind ;)
  12. Id go for the X-52, the abundance of buttons easily puts it above the T.Flight Hotas. Especially in A10 you have lots of functions and modes of which youll want to have as much on your Joystick as possible. Without TrackIR youll also need a hat for the Cockpit View, which is bad if you only have one on your joystick. On the X-52 you have 3 Hats and a mini mouse, which can be used to view around in the cockpit. Needless to say I ended up with each hat mapped with 2+ functions and the cockpit mouse. The T.Flight Hotas might be nice for some easier sims, but for a study sim like DCS:A10C its not going to cut it.
  13. I was about to open a thread on this one yesterday, but somehow.... Anyways: I could see a lot of players giving DCS World a try if it was released on Steam, simply because its "on there" and for free. Why would it be bad for Eagle Dynamics to put DCS World on Steam (Greenlight or not) and see what happens? They could sell the Modules as DLCs and have the base game free for everyone. Also a lot of cons dont apply if they supply the serials along with the modules: Those who want to play their games on Steam are free to do so, those that want to stay away from it can just go ahead and play with the client from the homepage. I bought my DCS A10 over Steam simply because it was convenient and i didnt have to sign up somewhere else to buy it. Without Steam i would probably never have found this gem of a sim.
  14. This is because the front wheel is non-steerable, so what spins you around in circles is the torque difference between the main rotors. Try to apply some right rudder to counteract this and youre fine. If its bothering you a lot or if its too difficult for you to take off with it, hold the trim button before you apply rudder and when you found the right amount of it let loose of it.
  15. What a shame i am flying on that day :( Wouldve loved to both help beginners out and learn something myself...
  16. Yes you can.
  17. Ok, i think ive solved my problem with the Campaigns not showing up. I didnt have DCS World 1.20 installed, but instead 1.1.2.0, which i patched to 1.1.2.1. So hopefully after im done with the torrent this will work. Someone of the ED staff should remove the 1.1.2.0 to 1.1.2.1 patch from the Download section, because its very confusing right now if you already had the DCS World beta installed.

  19. Is there any update on how to get the BS2 Campaigns to work in World yet?
  20. Have you checked your World patch version? Mine said 1.1.2.0, so if thats the case youll only have to install the patch to 1.1.2.1 to be up to date.
  21. Nate, in DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Ka-50\Missions\EN\Campaigns there are all the missions for the respective campaigns. They just dont show up ingame.
  22. I cant find any campaigns too :/ Guess Ill have to play with the standalone BS2 until someone finds a fix for this.
  23. Do i need to reinstall Black Shark 1 for the updated version to install properly? I deleted my version a few days ago thinking i wouldnt need it anymore. I still have BS2 though.
  25. For the moment im pretty sceptical about the Super Hornet, however I have some hope left that ED still has a Hornet in the works. Coretex should really introduce themselves soon to help clear this up.
