Look at some of the closed loop water cooling setups.. They aren't that expensive (Under $100) and will allow you to overclock pretty aggressively.. (or if you don't want to overclock then it allows your system to run VERY cool even under load and heat is the primary killer of computer equipment... I have an Antec on one of my machines and it runs cooler at full load then it did at idle using the stock cooler. I kid you not!

Well I would agree 100% with what you said.. Nothing to add!
-
I see what you did there...

OK you heard it here first folks! Based on the above and the fact that RAZBAM has arguably the WORST communication of any 3rd party dev, Kasper32 will not be buying any RAZBAM modules... And since there is no reason to believe RAZBAM will change their non-communicational ways, that means Kasper32 will never buy one of their modules... We shall see how long THAT lasts.. LOL
-
The reality is that anyone that frequents this forum and asks for updates on a weekly basis is going to buy whatever is offered whether there is decent communication or not.. The only real deal breaker on that count would be if news gets out that a particular module is bad for whatever reason.. But anyone that is going to say "I won't buy a module that I really want because so and so didn't communicate on a weekly basis" is deluding themselves.. Everyone will crack once the module is released and that is just the way of things.

Over what? The same news that has been stated at least 30 times previously? None of which gives a time frame? ???

Wow beautiful restoration...

Not a matter of being "cool" and I am not placing blame.. But it has been said in MANY threads by many 3rd party devs so no amount of denying it on your part will make it go away.. The 3rd party devs that do communicate often and well are certainly much appreciated and Ells and Pman are the best, but not every 3rd party dev has an Ells or Pman to handle these things so many of them are refraining from communicating until they have solid concrete things to communicate. You can refute that fact if you like but if you read other threads on this very board you will learn that you would be wrong.. And as I have stated before if I was a dev I would be VERY careful about providing timeframes for ANYTHING as I have seen too many times what happens if a date is missed... Hell in one instance a 3rd party dev was completely RUNOFF and is working on projects now OTHER than DCS due to the treatment received on this forum... I am not saying that we shouldn't voice our opinions on things, and anyone that knows me knows I have no issues there! What I am saying is that the constant complaining about this missed date or that missing (fill in the blank favorite widget) gets to the point where it is just easier and even advantageous to just keep mum until just about ready to release... My prediction is that once EDGE is released and stable we will start seeing a LOT of projects just PUP UP out of nowhere... They will be nearly complete but will not have been talked about..

Sorry but you have no RIGHT to anything other than the opportunity to purchase the product once it is truly available.. This post once again shows with awesome clarity why many devs are not posting constant updates and are staying very quiet until they are nearly ready to release a product... It has been shown over and over again that folks do not have the patience required for these projects so any dev communicating a timeframe and then having to back away from it... Is setting themselves up to burned at the stake...

Sorry, but developing a module for FSX has ZERO bearing on their ability to develop a DCS quality module for DCS World.. Very simple Apples to really complicated oranges... :music_whistling:

How to add wifi to a mini-ITX motherboard?
outlawal2 replied to Bucic's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I think we are all aware of how to use Google, but the OP was asking if we had any to RECOMMEND... (And before you ask why I can tell you that I have one nearly new that works OK for surfing and such but fails repeatedly if you try to transfer large files with it... ) -

outlawal2 replied to Bucic's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Fair enough... My wants may be far and beyond what you need so maybe you are able to find more competitive prices... Good for you! Best of luck with your build and keep us posted on what you decide on the wireless... And my last bit of advice is to stay away from Asrock boards... I bought one for a customer, ran it for 6 months and then it died... (that in and of itslef is not really a big deal, stuff happens.) But when I looked the board up again on the net there were countless threads about it overheating... Sometimes to the point of starting fires! And these were not one or 2 isolated incidents, I am talking a LOT of folks having that issue.. -
How to add wifi to a mini-ITX motherboard?
outlawal2 replied to Bucic's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yeah unfortunately Mini-ITX is smaller, and because of that it is quite a bit more expensive than other form factors.. ATX is probably cheapest but also huge.. I think bang for the buck and size is the Micro-ATX form factor.. Only about an inch larger on each side but a lot cheaper.. (Obviously you will need a Micro ATX case for it though.) Of course I built 3 Mini-Itx machines anyway, so I DO like the size! Good Luck! -

Did you check for the Mini PCIex slot? If you have one you can purchase the wifi card for it and have a similar setup as the boards we have described.. If you don't have the mini pciex slot then USB it shall be! -
Hey that was most certainly NOT directed at you folks... (I was referring to the Combat Helo project...) I personally think you guys are moving along quite nicely! And I have been a big proponent of Veao Simulations and their choice of the Hawk..
-
And how long has THAT project been out there? And how long do you suppose it will be before they complete it? I personally would rather fly something in this decade rather than wait for a project that may be completed by the time I am 80... (Or worse yet, become vaporware like so many other overly ambitious projects have become..) Sorry, but that example will probably be shown to reinforce the fact that biting off more than you can chew will kill a developer...

Most of them I have seen have the wifi built into the board. (I have 3 different Mini-ITX boxes I built and they all have wifi built in... Based on the lack of slots your only option just may be USB but I don't yet have a recommendation for them... You can also check to see if you have a mini pci-e slot that is unpopulated.. (That is how all 3 of mine have wifi support is they slide a wifi adapter into that mini pci-e slot and connect the antennas out the back..).) -
Clearly you are incapable of looking beyond the fact that the selected aircraft does not make you happy and that there are MANY reasons why they may have selected it. Just because you don't know what those reasons are does not mean they don't exist or aren't valid..

Hey I was not saying you were whining and I can understand your questions and point of view... Just trying to point out why things are the way they are.. Absolutely ZERO animosity here! Have a good one..

What would be the best opponent for the MiG-21bis?
outlawal2 replied to Zakatak's topic in Heatblur Simulations
I voted for the Phantom for obvious reasons... But the Draken would be a day one purchase for me! Always liked that plane... -
The fact that the plane selected is a less advanced trainer rather than a bleeding edge fighter is due to the realities of running a business, yes.. Also, we don't have any of the internal facts as to why this airframe was selected.. This forum will burn at the stake anyone that provides a less than perfect simulation of a plane so MAYBE (Pure speculation here on my part) maybe they have direct access to this plane.
