1.28 module manager log in failure
outlawal2 replied to arcturas's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Check your Windows firewall and verify settings in your AV software to allow DCS... (I upgraded from WIN8 to 8.1 and Microsoft in their INFINITE WISDOM in an effort to save us all from ourselves, turns ON the firewall automatically even though I had it expressly turned off when I upgraded.) So I figured I didn't have to worry about the firewall. Uh huh. CHECK it LOL -
Must see. The real father of the US stealth technology

As soon as I saw the OP name I walked away... Pretty standard stuff from this individual.. And he has a habit of passing out negative rep if you so much as disagree with him so beware! (Awaiting bad rep now..) -
EXACTLY

Once both planes have been released we can find out for certain!

Nah the Hind is certainly capable, (I honestly forgot it was mentioned in the original post or I would have included in assessment.. Sorry..) Hind is a strange beast though.. I am a huge fan, don't get me wrong... but I personally don't think it compares as an anti tank platform due to the limited number of missiles it carries... It is a SUPREME anti personnel platform and the fact that it can carry troops as well makes it a very potent weapon for sure! Once again, it just needs to be deployed properly...

And considering how often folks pick any and all communications apart and bring forth the pitch forks and torches I don't blame ED for keeping quiet. We have done this to ourselves...

We can ALL relate to that pain my friend... SOON LOL

Well how long should it take to completely build an environment from the ground up from scratch?

Every aircraft has it's strengths and weaknesses.. The Shark is a very capable aircraft in it's intended role as long as the situation is "reasonable" By reasonable I mean that there has to be some semblance of security regarding enemy air assets. (Air superiority.) This is no different for the Shark than any other attack helicopter... Either the Shark or the Apache are great choices as long as they are handled by well trained aircrew and flown in a manner that alleviates their shortcomings. (Shark has a single pilot so pilot workload is high, but the systems do an adequate job of alleviating this issue once again as long as the scenario is reasonable.) Workload on the Apache is eased due to the dual aircrew but the added complexity of the sighting system and such means that workload is still pretty high... Since none of us have actually flown the real deals, my OPINION would be that the Shark's workload would be a bit more than the Apache... Pure speculation but I think a reasonable opinion.. Weapons on the Apache are better suited to modern Anti tank use as the Vikhr is a bit weak for heavy armor whereas the Hellfire is a know quantity and works very well. Also, if you consider that the Apache carries more Hellfires than the Shark carries Vikhrs... And a modern tank may take 2 Vikhrs to kill it vs one Hellfire, the superiority of the Apache becomes even more apparent. The downside of the Apache is mostly the costs invovled. I am guessing you could buy 2 or more Sharks for each Apache and so you are now into the age-old debate on whether it makes more sense to spend more money on fewer aircraft with better systems / weapons etc.. Or do you buy more warplanes with lesser capabilities and flood the skies... Either approach has it's merits and every contry has to decide which of those answers makes sense for their situation... Neither option is a bad option in my mind... Just different and different considerations.. Either one can be made to be successful in skilled hands..

I love all these statements about how easy it should be to code dual cockpit and yet DCS multiplayer isn't perfect yet either.. (And that is not a complaint about ED, it is simply the facts.) You can't have dual cockpit until you work out the issues with multiplayer. Dual cockpit would be part of multiplayer code so just sitting down and "making it happen" isn't the way it is folks.. I can just about guarantee that ED wants to resolve the dual cockpit situation as they have multiple modules already that are in need of it...
-
Ed will need to workout the multi-crew code before we can properly man the Death Star... Besides, what kind of legalities will be involved when trying to get licensing for an Empire copyrighted craft? I can feel the Vader choke already...

OK, yeah.. so the guy that had his planes replaced by the F-35 says that the competition that sent him packing.. Is junk... No conflict of interest or bias in his opinions right? This is quite possibly the dumbest thread in existence...

Ummm.. What?

Updated to 1.2.8 and all of my existing aircraft updated properly so I decided to support DCS and bought the F-15C standalone module even though I already have FC3.. (They can use the cash) Anyway, I was able to login to the site and order the module no issues, but when I try yo login in the game using the module manager it clocks forever and then says bad password or user. The user and password ARE correct... Any ideas?

Open Beta 13.7gb, normal 1.2.8 just 7,3gb?
outlawal2 replied to tovivan's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Did you install all of the same modules for both of them? (Thinking you may have installed planes in the beta but have not installed them in the final version and that is the reason for the large size difference..) Just a thought.. -
Close this thread.. Poll is worthless...

Please help - master caution on collective up
outlawal2 replied to TEMPEST.114's topic in DCS: UH-1H
I recommend clearing out and resetting all of your axis functions.. (I know it is a bit of a pain but it is worth it.) Only takes a few minutes and makes a big difference (At least it did for me anywway.) Make sure that your collective is set so that pulling it back increases the pitch. I know that sounds ridiculous but every time mine is plugged in fresh it is backwards and you don't know it until you move it and then all Hell breaks loose. (Just like you are saying is happening to you)
