I see where you are going with your thought process, but saying A-10, Black Shark, MI-8 and P-51 aren't study sims is incorrect and misleading... They absolutely ARE study sims.. Now if you want to say that they aren't advanced, high-performance supersonic study sims.. Then you are absolutely correct... And ED is working hard on providing one of those very soon with the F-18.. And Leathernecks will be providing one with the Mig-21... :thumbup:

This has all been hashed out many times before... The amount of money obtained from FC is far and above more than the "Study sims" so yes after a fashion, FC funds our study sims... And as stated above, MI-8, Huey and the Mustang are all study sims.. And many more to come.. But remember that the high fidelity of the study sim is a dual edged sword as it takes a LOT longer to pump those out so if you demand a study sim then you better be able to wait for them...

Can we give it a FRIGGIN REST?!?! They just provided an update and I think it is clear that ED and everyone associated with them are having some issues that they need to clear up.. Everyone whined long and hard enough that multiple devs have since provided updates with the info they currently have so how about we all just shut up for a while and let them fix whatever issues they are working on so that a release will be made in the near future...

Probably not.. I know I would NEVER provide a date again the way this crowd treats them when they are missed.. I would provide snippets here and there and then when it is ready I would release it... This environment has turned into pitch forks and torches... No way I would provide a date again. EVER

That won't work as most updates are released to fix previous issues.. I am quite certain that if I HAD to subscribe just to get updates that I have already paid for I would be Less than pleased about it.. And I LOATHE subscriptions as they ensure poor customer service and a much higher cost for that service... (Once a company KNOWS that have the money coming in, there is little incentive to court the customer..)

Considering how many dates have been missed in the last 6 months I really don't want to have another one anyway.. When it is ready then release it... Just keep showing tidbits as they go ...

Always been an aviation buff, Hell it was a tossup between dinosaurs and helicopters when I was about 4.. (Still haven't answered that question at 44) Anyway, I am good with computers and systems, processes etc. but my math skills suck and that is one of the main criteria when weeding folks out for the flight positions in the military. So I have gone the way of flight sims basically my entire life.. Started out with a VIC-20 and moved on from there.. Later in life (the last 5 years or so) I was able to pursue some of my dream of flying but after 22 hours of flight time in a helicopter the costs involved are just not reasonable... $400 per flight HOUR for training is beyond insane and I just can't justify it.. (I know airplane lessons are quite a bit cheaper but Cessnas just don't get my blood going like a helicopter does) So DCS and my home pit is the best option for me at this point...

The plane was stolen by the pilot and was flown to a remote island airfield and is currently in a hangar. As we speak they are fitting internal fuel tanks so that the range can be doubled from the existing range of approximately 5000 miles to around 10,000. Once that is complete they will install a transponder stolen from an existing plane that is not currently in use but of a similar type of plane. (That way they can squawk and not raise any flags, allowing them to reach the US pretty well unhindered.) A nuke from North Korea will be loaded onto this plane and it will then be flown to the US and blown up over a US city... Probably DC or NY but it will probably be discovered before it reaches it's destination but since it is a nuke it will still cause massive damage. Sadly, the only way this plan can work is if everyone on the plane is killed upon reaching the island, so that would have already happened..

You are right to worry about the static. Static electricity is a prime killer of PC equipment and it is quite insidious about it. You can fry equipment and it will continue to run for some time before it dies making troubleshooting the cause near impossible. Best idea is reduce static as much as you can. Try getting an anti-static chair mat instead. Similar look and feel with no static adn you can still mount your hardware to it...

I have owned all of the brands you have listed and they are all solid equipment.. Find the best deal on any one of these and you will be a happy camper...

And as has been stated repeatedly the items unfinished are all related to ED not Belsimtek... Until ED completes their portion of things Belsimtek cannot possibly do anything about it... Continuing to blame Belsimtek and complain about their products over things that are completely out of their hands is ridiculous.. And tiring for the rest of us..

After reading your later response and apology and how we thought you were trolling (And I am sure now that you were not) I went back and re-read your post with the point of view of someone who has never been here before and now I think you were asking a legitimate question and we gravely misunderstood what you were asking... If you were asking "How is it that with just 2 simple photos, folks can discern so many details?" IF that was what you were trying to ask, then the answer is that many of the folks on this forum are extremely knowledgeable about aircraft, others about computers, programming you name it... The programmers in the bunch can look at those 2 seemingly insignificant pics and can pick out details that speak VOLUMES about EDGE and where the new engine is heading.. (For example there are some effects that are being shown that can only be replicated using DX11. The current engine only utilizes DX9 and is quite a bit behind the times... EDGE will boast DX11.. ) The aircraft experts will look at those pics and see a Russion bird of some sort (I am not a Russsian bird expert so I have no idea but I can guarantee folks will pipe up and let us know shortly!) They will also point out the very crisp cockpit and how awesome the lighting is... Finally, several posts have been added regarding the curvature of the earth that is demonstrated in one of the pics.. This has been a die hard fan issue for some time and once again points out that EDGE is addressing some of the long time questions / issues folks have had.. So with that in mind I apologize if I misread your comment and shot down a legitimate question... We are used to some folks trolling and unfortunately are quite sensitive to it. I hope this does not discourage you from posting in the future... We really do appreciate opinions and questions... :thumbup:

No, no one said they should not publish updates, what was SAID is that if you consider the complaints made by folks it can certainly be UNDERSTANDABLE why they might limit the updates they provide.. Since I seem to have to explain what I thought was quite obvious, the statement was made as an explanation so that folks would THINK before they posted rather than post complaints out of reflex.. I for one have always appreciated the updates provided by ED and the 3rd party devs and am rather tired of the nitpicking complaints that have limited the frequency of our updates.. But apparently it does not seem to matter how many times this issue is pointed out to folks they still manage to shoot down any and every update provided.. (And then WHINE that there is no communication) Quite pathetic actually..

So exactly why did you feel the need to insinuate that there was nothing of value in the pics presented? You have since clearly stated an answer to your question so what was the point? :doh:
