  1. The engine cannot handle hovering at full weight and can be over stressed if you're trying to pull more power than can be had. In regards to range with a normal load, you're looking at 450nm in a straight line. No hovering, just cruising. Check out Chuck's excellent guide on the Gazelle. It'll help. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=166627
  2. I worked on NVG systems for a number of years in the USAF, prior to my flying career. Your mod is close, but as has been mentioned, the color needs more green. And the sides should have a vignette. Binocular night optics still cant give a full like the panoramic NVGs do. The condition you mentioned (no moonlight/low light) causes noise or scintillation. Also, we often saw a honeycomb like pattern during higher light levels. Light blooms from cities or non-NVG light sources are another problem. Looking forward to your future progress.
  3. Range varies. Straight line cruise only or mission? I usually fly the M with 4xHOTs and an IR suppresor with 65% fuel onboard. This allows me to travel about 35nm to a target, hover/shoot and return with some reserve. Carrying a full load of HOTs and full fuel, the helo is very sluggish and hard to effectively hover without overtorquing the engine.
  4. The Sa342L can be used with HOT (real world). 6, per the stats sheet. No night site though. Mainly export. I'd love to see this added to the in-game L. More punch per sortie.
  5. These have been broken for several patches now. I ran into this issue last night. I run at 3440x1440 while my flightmate runs lower res. He's able to see targets further out as his pixels arent as tightly rendered. The above options were to help with that, but ED turned them off.

Thank you Santus, for taking up Part 2. Truly amazing work. I'm looking forward to using them with great enthusiasm. -Jeff
  7. Great work yet again. I had not seen the F-16 vs Mirage either, so I watched it as well. Love the beginning scene of the Fulcrums "capturing" the F-5. Reminds me a bit of how a Baltic Air Police mission might go. Thanks!
  8. Jumping in late, so by editing the Input/Config lua, I can force the sim into using a 3-way switch or "upon release"?
  9. Found this thread and began thinking of overcoming the Integrity Check. Since it's LUA based, it would likely fail the IC. Using it as a JSGME add-on, it could be installed/removed quickly. But what about as a mission script?
  10. Ironically, I think the US MANPAD crews have blue helmets. Maybe the Anti-tank? -Jeff
  11. And simply exiting causes some issues with servers. By connecting/disconnecting it properly severs the connection without leaving remnants on the host.
  12. Last night on the Open Conflict server, my right engine was shot up and I lost the associated Right Generator, Flight Hyd (per the Caution/Warning Panel) and Airspeed Indicator. I landed and repaired the damage but upon returning to flight, noted that the Airspeed Indicator didnt return. Additionally the aircraft's aux air doors remained open in flight and the warning horn sounded when the thrust was less than 100% Mil/Dry. V/R Jeff
  13. Had the same occurance last night on the Open Conflict server. Repair did not fix the airspeed indicator. Plus other problems.
  14. I'll take a Gazelle or F-5. Thats Noon local here. Easy
  15. Saw this during an online session. A guy camped out above the FARP, reversers on, parking brakes set and was launching Mavericks at our helos. The squat switch should prevent the firing of any weapons, while the aircraft is on the ground.
  16. Thanks for the quick work. I knew you would hook us up.
  17. No crash log file because it doesnt crash. Has to be Ctrl Alt Del to end. Ran update and repair. 1.5.6 Release/Stable Storm_DCS_Log.zip
  18. Captivating! Great angles during the action. Very professional.
  19. Thank you. In the absense of a full English cockpit, this will help.
  20. Maybe I'm wrong, but I've found auto-flaps will hurt my chances of recovering energy loss. Entering an engagement, I'm at good speed/high energy state. If I'm having to pull into a turn, auto-flaps seems to skip the less draggy fixed flap setting and go full. While it may provide max lift, it also adds a ton of drag reducing energy faster. The jet doesnt have the oomph to power out of that low energy state with full flaps, forcing an unload for a time. I've began playing with manually placing (throttle switch) the flaps into the fixed position after the initial turn and then adjust up or down from there. Is it correct? I dont know but have found it's easier to maintain energy longer until the fight ends up low and slow. Just my $.02
  21. Thank you Ramsay. I'll give this a try. Cheers!
  22. Have you tried to shut off the master arm switch? But I agree, it should only be on when the laser is fired. I've also noticed that on NVGs, when you turn the sensor, a ghost image of where the laser was last placed, remains and sparkles. Despite the laser moving with the sensor.
  23. I'm having the same issue. They talk like they've gone airborne, but remain at the FARP.
  24. I'm enjoying this server but find that it's very quiet. No one uses their TS server to coordinate. Are people using something else? Or their own?
