Honestly I havent noticed any difference in terms of perofmance betwen having the system managing automatically the pagefile and setting it manually to 40-60 gb lol...not even in multiplayer servers such as for example Blueflag . I am running your same specs , 32b ram / 8700k@5.0 ghz / 1080ti....I am not even checking the pagefile usage as I always have freeram available. For thouse having stutter, pls try Emptystandbylist, its a well knonw little software in the gaming comunity since win 10 fall creators update came out https://wj32.org/wp/software/empty-standby-list/

the only probllem in my opinion is that the game is poorly optimized if compared to other games. Microsoft office and web surfing has nothing to do with gaming and dcs... Most of us , including myself are running high-end systems which has no problems at all in other games, moroevoer we are not "noobs" meaning that we assemble computer, tweaks OS, overclocksystme, and we know how to monitor, update drivers, observe DPC latency, and stuff like that from more than 20 years. DCS always had problems with stuttering and fps issues since it's existance, it is not related to our machines, it is related to the game engine which is imy opinion too "heavy" even for the fastest hardware, there are a few guys who posted about stutter problems here having high-end intel cpu of 1000 USD + plust nvidia titanx, plus 32 gb fast ram. We will hopefully see some improvments as soon as VULKAN will be ready for DCS in the next months. Morover the problem itself is DEFERED SHADING which is not compatible with MSAA causing a huge fps loss even on high-end rigs.

btw I suspect the problem here is the trackir software and USB polling rate, I am trying to figure out how to change a specific USB port polling rate frequency assuming the device itself ( Trackir) can be overclcocked to run at lets say 1000 mhz. I am bit ignorant about it , if you want to help me out this a post i wrote on overclockers.net There are a few tools out there which allows to change the USB polling rate , I was told by one of the developers that the software can be used with any usb device take a read here and pls lets try to figure out the damn thing https://www.overclock.net/forum/375-mice/1597441-digitally-signed-sweetlow-1000hz-mouse-driver-86.html @bandit648 : as you're english mothertounge and I am not, maybe you can better try to figure out proper steps to change the polling rate of USB ports. -
I used to run my OS ( win 10 64bit pro latest build 1803) ony my SSD Samsung 850evo 500gb whch is a SATA6 ssd, eventualy I upgraded to a NVME M2 SSD Samsung 970evo 500gb which I am currently using for both OS and DCS. There is 0 difference in terms of fps/stuttering/statbility etc, the only difference are the loading times which are just a few seconds faster on the NVMVE ( about 6-8 seconds faster). If you have to upgradde your system I would spare some money and change mobo/cpu and GPU as well, prices for the 1080ti are going to fall down in the next few weeks/months. As for the mobo if you want to save some money you could find some good z370/ 8700k as the prices will decreas as well. on OCTOBER we'll see the new Intel 9th gen + Z390 mobos ( just an upgrade of current Z370 chipset)

there is no such mod....:music_whistling:

actually we need more fresh modern theater , highly detailes as Ex Jugoslavia

Anyway for DCS related, there is 0 differenc between 7700k and 8700k.. rather the 7700k was smoother in my rig, with the 8700k I have some microstutters which were not presente with the 7700k.....

Nvidia RTX cards and DCS - ?
Goa replied to 0414 Wee Neal's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Nvidia rtx prices are ridiculous too high for the 2080ti...and the reason they already release it is probably due the fact AMD is going to relase Navi 7nm in 2019 and so nvidia want to get a lot of money from the 2080ti and probably in 2019 they will relase an upgraded 2080ti with more cudacores and ram... -

hi, sorry but I dont undertand what you mean, and btw gsyc is not offering best efficieny in between 30-60 , you're absolutely wrong. I suggets you take a read here https://www.blurbusters.com/gsync/gsync101-input-lag-tests-and-settings/2/ -
that's the point, the majour issues are with gsync monitors.

I have exactly the same micro-stuttering you're are describing when panning aroung the cockpit with trackir. The odd thing is that with the 7700k I did not have these micro-stutter when capped at 60 fps, of course I had the usual simmering/stuttering we are talking about if the fps were not capped at 60 , but at least at 60fps I had no micro-stutters, now with the damn 8700k, new motherboard, and new PSU i have the micro-stutter even at 60 fps. As for your question, I set my monitor refresh rate at 144hz, setting it at 60hz seems worse to me. -

@bandit 648 : I also found better results by deleting the max_fps line from graphics.lua and then capping the fps to 60 with nvidia inspector or msi riva turner, give it a try and let me know :) -

you can also use MSI rivatuner to lockfps at 60 which is what I''ve done since long time. according to blurbuster (a specialized gsync forum) nvidia inspector frame limiter introduce some lag which is better managed by msi riva tuner. https://www.blurbusters.com/gsync/gsync101-input-lag-tests-and-settings/ -

Maybe some trackir units are faulty and they only run at 60 fps whch would explain why some of us are having "stuttering" if above >60 fps? @bitmaster : please mate , use your msi afterburner and let us know how many fps it shows within the trackir sofware? Mine says : 60 FPS OPENGL Render -
@bandit648 : also trackir is supposed to run at 120 fps , but if you open msi afterburner with rivatuner to monito the fps, you will notice within the trackir software that you will get a max fps of 60 fps....whch is really strange. uploading trackir profiles is useless because the profiles are generated basis on your distance from the monitor etc etc, i basically use smooth profile with some appriate curves for yaw and pitch, it is not a matter of TIR profile, rather a NON compatibility with G-SYNC monitors. -

I've tried only IL2 and ARMA3 with trackir and it's the same as with DCS: i am force to cap fps at 60fps. Now in my case with the new rig I've built switchin from the I7 7700K to the 8700k , even at 60fps I have some random stuttering despite the fps are locked at 60 fps. Which drives me even more crazy because it should stutter at 60fps,.... -

just an observation : you theory is missing a point : why the trackir is smooth at locked 60fps and is not at lets say 100 fps??? Moreover: which modeiles have you tested trackir? -

I am not running too far away from my screen, maybe i am about 40-50 cm, sensors are perfectly centered with the camera, no other lights poluttions. If I pause the game, and I use keyboard to pan around, or a joystick hat, everything is smooth from 40 to 200 fps. As soon as I un-pause trackir, and use my head to move left.right, the juttery is BACK. This a good description of what I sense: en you turn your head very quickly, there are no issues, the view snaps with no delay or stutter. When you turn your head slowly, there is a definite (though consistent) step-wise motion of the image, almost as if the TrackIR is being sampled at a very slow rate. "Notchy" is a good description - the image moves in discrete steps (like "click-click-click") that is seeming to skip frames. This occurs even in Precision mode. Note that there is NO jerkiness at all if you keep your head still and just turn the aircraft - the image you see is incredibly smooth and lifelike. It is only panning with TrackIR that shows the issue. Panning with mouse or hat switch is also smooth as can be. -
hi bandit648 , i am aware about that post on aerofly2, i read it many times, I've run the process of unistalling trackir, even tough I have a fresh installation of WIN10 1803 and there is no change at all. So just to summarize your settings: as of now and in order to run the game smoothly without the shimmering effect when fps range is let's sayh 70-100, are you running the game capped at 60 then , or are you able to run it even without capping them? You said in same of your previous posts that you change the mobo from the taichi to the hero X, is it better now with the trackir or is it still the same? Thanks a lot and apologise for the many questions
