Short video tutorial on how to use the automatic release mode when dive-bombing:
-
For the autorelease to work, electrically cagin the gunsight (altough it doesn't change anything on the pipper movement) is very important.

Thanks, always appreciated! :)

LABS "Over the shoulder"-bombing tutorial: NDB Navigation: Dive bombing using the automatic weapon release: Air-to-Air guns: Air-to-Air missiles:

A short NDB navigation tutorial, covering the basics how to get from point A to point B, (while missnavigating to point C :D)

The music is a bit diffrent, though the video is very entertaining! ;)

I like her. She is fun to fly. I didn't expect that, and I just bought her, because I had that 70% coupon arround. Though I can see myselfe spending quit a bit of time in her.

[Tutorial] LABS - "Over the shoulder"-bombing
xxJohnxx replied to xxJohnxx's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
It is usefull when training how the use of the LABS, however I think it might has been forgotten, and shouldn't be there anymore. Could be made an option. -
Danke! Hat mich mein Österreicher-Englisch verraten, oder doch das Profil? :music_whistling: The point below the aircraft when you start to hold down the weapon release button. In the "over the shoulder" releasing mode at least. There are time based modes available as well. I will hopefully do a video on that as well when I figure out how to use it. EDIT: I found myselfe getting best results when holding down the weapon-release button just a split second before overflying the target. You will figure the best point to hold down the trigger for yourselfe, it takes a bit trial of error. I guess it would not have to be dead accurate with a tactical nuke though.

This video shows how to use the LABS in the "Over the shoulder" bombing method. Enjoy!

Hi, Today I got a quick video for you, showing how to perform the "Over the shoulder"- bombing mode. Best regards, Jonathan

A small peak into the new DCS F-86 Sabre:

No more M4 at airfields anymore anyways. The exclusivly spawn on helicopter crashsites now. All old M4 spawns will no have AKMs in place.

The flight director can go from showing ILS/VOR data (like in the A-10C, this aircraft), to much more advanced manuvers (holding patterns, takeoffs, landings). On more advanced systems, like on airliners, the flight director indicates what the autopilot would do if it would be connected. This is usefull for manual for several things during manual flight: -On complicated manuvers like approaches and departures it makes hand flying said manuver much easier, as you just can follow the flight director indication. -When you are about to connect (activate) the autopilot it is very easy to confirm what the autopilot will do once connected. You can also make sure that it won't make a suttle attitude change once it gets connected. -When flying on autopilot the flight director will also show what the autopliot is going to do, e.g.: you can quickly see if the autopilot will overshoot a turn or not. Such systems (autopilots, flightdirectors, gennerally flight guidance/controll systems) are getting better and cheaper quickly and are allready available for small general aviation aircrafts, like for instance a C172. Those sytsems are liked by some and hated by the others. There are huge benefits that reduce the workload, make the flight safer, etc. while on the other hand pilots often become to reliant on said systems.

In DCS I am getting pretty much the same frames with SLI as I do with a single GTX780. The tests I ran didn't really show any improvement over a single card. Howerver, I guess with 4 monitors you might get a improvment over a single card if you run them parallel (not in SLI). However, EDGE, the new rendering engine, might change things up a bit. Apparently up to 4 cards in SLI will be supported. Though, I guess only feature will show how that claim will work out.

Well even if I would say it is not okay, it wouldn't change anything. The only thing that would happen is that I am upset about something so "unimportant". So I personally say that it is okay what they are doing, which prevents me from beeing pissed off for no real reason. This is also a reason why I normally don't invest in Kickstarter fundraiser campaings. I am happy to pay for something once it is finished, but until then I keep my money and let them do the work.
-
I don't have a 6GB 780 but I have two 3GB 780s running in SLI. They do an okay job with DCS and I am getting okay framerates with one 1920x1080 monitor on high graphic settings (expect mirrors, they just kill my framerate).

This whole bonus system is just useless in my opinion. The loyal customer that allready had everything didn't benefit from it due to the time limit that was created. The customer that has one or two products can benefit from it. However, the normal sales have a bigger discount, so if you are on a bargin, why not wait for that. I mean I am not annoyed, but I find it just a bit wrong to put such a system in place with very confusing conditions. It was very unclear that the bonus would expire when this system was introduced. Just my 0,02€ on that topic.

130FPS with 2xTitan Black on 4k - but just for 60sec
xxJohnxx replied to Dropship Pilot's topic in Game Performance
Maybe also try to use the default DCS FPS counter. RCtrl+Pause is the key command I think. -
Yeah it would make sense giving the position it is in, but not the layout. How do you operate the hat switch on the right hand side of the stick? The palm rest on the bottom would be on the wrong side as well. It just looks like it would be a left hand stick to me. If you compare it to the right-hand operated cyclic you can see that the center stick is similar, but mirrored.
-
It's the OV-10 Bronco close air support aircraft.
-
But why is it left-handed? You would think it would be right handed as the stick, wouldn't it? Because especially the one in the center is for the pilot (left), so he has to grab the right handed stick with his left hand?

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
xxJohnxx replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I am pretty sure this petition is pretty pointless. There are hunderts of posts in this forum where a lot of people wish that several special aircraft are developed in DCS, however, how far has it affected ED? They are working on the F-18, and they probably know what they are doing after that. Pointless petitions/polls/shopping lists probably won't change much in this regard.
