  1. I am running with two ASUS GTX780s in a Cooler Master HAF-XM. It is an awsome case, with a lot of place for cable managment, drive slots, top accessible USB 2 and USB 3 as well as audio ports. It does not have a dust filter for the PSU though, and it might be a bit more expensive (not much though) than your £50. Here is the link anyway: http://www.coolermaster.com/case/mid-tower/haf-xm/
  2. Would also be nice to know the serial number of your TM Warthog set Wichid. That would allow us to compare! :)
  3. No. Just no.
  4. MFG Crosswind pedals. They won't meet your 200$ price range, but they are definatelly worth it. Much better than the Saitek ones in my opinion!
  5. I have owned the Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals for quit a long time, but when the Huey came out, I just realised that those are not as precise as I would like them to be. Especially the stickyness arround center made, and quit a lot of unwanted friction when deflected where just uncomfortable. So I ordered myselfe the MFG Crosswind Pedals and after a few weeks they finally arrived. I gave them a try and oh god, my Saitek ones just flew right out of the window. Compared to the Saitek Pedals those things are just amazing. No plastic-feeling, no loud noises from, no weird center resistance. And they are very adjustable as well. You want more centering force? No problem! You want the to change the angle of your toe brakes? No problem! You want to change the recentering force at the outer ends of deflection? No problem! You want your toe breaks to be more stiff? No problem! It's just amazing what you can do with those things. They are expensive, but I would definatelly not hesitate to buy them again. Totally recommended!
  6. The 4790K will therfore run cooler than the 3770/4770. However, I would still recommend the Corsair Watercoolers. They are easy to set up, and well worth the cost!
  7. For low noise I would suggest the Corsair H60/H80 water cooling. With a custom fan that thing is noiseless. With the default fan it just makes a bit noise when doing a CPU heavy task, such as rendering a movie. I am running a i7-3770K @ 4.5GHz, temperatures are at about 50°C wenn gaming.

    GCI

Just to clear a few things up, here the original quote:

    GCI

Somewhere was posted that the GCI is just the default AWACS BRAA in DCS.
  10. As of now NVIDIA is definatelly recommended for DCS. This might change with EDGE, but as of now, you are getting more from your NVIDIA card. I would recommend getting a 770 or 780 though. They just more powerfull than the 760, so it is worth it!
  11. I would love to see DCS [insert tanke name here] with mutliple crew positions (commander, gunner and driver) at a high simulation level. Would definatelly be up for that. Similar to Steel Beasts, just with better graphics.
  12. That's the card I am running as well in SLI. I would recommend the Ti version though!
  13. Could be that another helicopter spwans in with the same ID. The Abris doesn't like that and might not show one of the aircraft with the same ID.
  14. Though the IRST vs. stealth fighter is a difficult story. The big advantage is that it is passive. You don't know that the aircraft is there. For the stealth fighter now to see the aircraft, it has to use it's radar, giving away the stealth benefit. The stealth figther also has to continusly emit to allow for target search. The IRST can run for the whole time without emitting anything.
  15. If I am allowed to ask, how does this look with todays video cards? They usually are able to output the audio as well (over HDMI/Display Port) and I have used my NVIDIA card to output audio over the HDMI cable to the audio receiver. Could I get better results with onboard equipment or is the graphics card doing that just fine?
  16. I would let the operating system assing cores. It is normally was better on this itselfe than if you try to interfer.
  17. I bet my money on a week or two from now.
  18. Go home OP, you are drunk! :P Sorry, couldn't resist!
  19. FedEx mounted some IR systems on some of their planes. Here is a report about FedEx beeing allowed to use them in their MD-11/MD-10. Click Further down the page they also have some comparison shots. Here some video of an MD-11's HUD: And here you can see the modification the made to the outside of the plane to mount the camera: Beauty!
  20. You shall have my rep. Nice work guy(s)!
  21. Thanks for the info on that. Didn't now ED was beeing sloppy on such things, but I guess they have their priorities as well. A pitty though.
  22. So this is also the reason for never ending fluid trails, that don't affect anything (neither a fuel loss, nor any controll failure)?
  23. This is is difficult to say to be honest. I mean your CPU isn't the newest, neither is it the fastest. Neither is your graphics card (far of actually). Updating one without the other might give you some improvment, but to actually get the best out of your hardware you would have to upgrade both, the CPU and GPU. This would also imply that you would have to upgrade the mainboard (which can also be a limiting factor). This can get expensive, I know. However, that is the way it is unfortuantly. I would recommend getting a new (maybe not very expensive (GTX 770(Ti) or above)) and in a few months get yourselfe a new mainboard and a new CPU. A better GPU definatelly would help, but to get all out of it, you would have to go for a good CPU as well.
  24. But to be honest. With a good CPU it is very simple: The better the graphics card, the better the performance. I noticed an improvment from a GTX560Ti to a GTX780. I probably would notice an impromvent from a GTX780 to a GTX780Ti as well. So, the better the graphics card, the better the performance. The only limitting factor is money unfortuantly ;)
