  1. Hi gents! Just curious, has the buggy 33 mid air refueling in MP been solved yet? There seems to be an issue with basket getting disconnected resulting in radio loops for disconnect-reconnect, even though it is visually perfectly attached! The only way to get fuel is to actually drop back slightly whereby the basket is shown as disconnected, yet you receive fuel anyway... Quite odd if you ask me.
  2. Anyone figured this out yet?!
  3. Care to explain the reasoning? As for cobra... here are some results when you "force" it on through lua files... Can be a major exploit if not fixed for basically freezing indefinitely in the air!
  5. Congrats 59th! Amazing photos, looks like you had a great time! Keep it up for many more years to come! S! and Best of wishes from the 51st PVO
  6. That is exactly what we need!
  7. I am certainly looking forward to this, as CI was a blast that was unfortunately and prematurely suspended due to FC2 release.... zzz Even though I dont have that much time to fly lately, I will make time for this, thats for sure! :) btw, Crunch, still care for BLUEFOR Commander? We need to make a meeting and appoint key people as last time out. But I reckon you would be very high on the list of candidates as you are already in the full knowhow on the workings of GI! Also our recent GCI events went well so we can expect full ATC/GCI support! yay! And I saw that 104th was active in handling BLUE GCI for the last weekend, which is great practice for GI... sweet! ;) Cant wait!
  8. Yeah, usually we have a constant flow of bomber/chopper pilots, so its up to the fighter guys to pop in and get the action going... We ourselves (51st) dont have the time to fly on the server much unfortunately as we are busy with internal trainings and event preparations.
  9. You are always welcome to drop by on our server for those type of scenarios. We do not and will not run any un-realistic weapon mods or the like...
  10. All of the ICd files on the server are STOCK. The server machine itself is not modded in any way and has the absolute default ACE settings running, so I have no idea what could be causing your friends to fail the check... Mabe its some game settings related file that gets affected, such as turning on Labels in their options, or easy radar mode, etc. Remember those settings can change certain files, and we do check some of them (labels.lua) for example... If you can somehow pinpoint the file that is causing this then it would be best, since I really have no idea as most pilots have no problems joining the server. Nothing has changed since our last update on the checks which was done more than a month ago. A full list of checked files can be found on our forums for reference.
  11. Btw, guys have any of you tried any of these puppies?!: http://www.ocztechnology.com/ocz-revodrive-pci-express-ssd.html Im curious how they stack up to normal SSDs, as it seems that the PCI-E interface removes some of the bottlenecks as compared to legacy SATA (at least the older SATA standard). Oh and it can also be made fully bootable as long as the motherboard can support it :) This is, in theory, should be as good as any high end RAID 0 SSD setup (of 2 drives), if not better, in terms of overall performance and latency, and cheaper too. No longer is this tech limited for high end servers only, as they seem to be targeting the end user now with decent price ranges. The RevoDrive 1 goes for about 300+ US for 120gigs... There is also RevoDrive X2, but thats probably an overkill IMO... I think we are heading soon to a unified RAM/Storage on our PCs! Thats the next logical step, IMO...
  12. 100 per each type of 120, which should give you 200 120s of both versions combined
  13. Stats are fine, all events are/were recording since GCI weekend... have you looked at rules under missile quota perhaps? Because it seems you have been shooting 'blanks' for some time now as you have used up your allocated 120C quota ;)
  14. Choppers do show up on the GCI screen, however usually they are hard to track consistently because of radar coverage limitations and ground clutter, etc etc. Remember that the GCI only sees what his side's ground radars can see, so he has limits on his coverage and of course terrain plays a big part too... But once the choppers show up, they cant go far so its fairly easy to vector fighters in to take them out.... :joystick: Ive done that a number of times while on GCI station for BLUEFOR. Must have caused close to 5-10 kills on REDFOR choppers as a result of guiding fighters and even bombers on top of them. Poor buggers didnt even know what hit them...:megalol:
  15. Me too! We will have to test it again for stability issues however. I noticed some pilots had frequent CTDs in overcast, while my game and some others for example ran perfectly with no issues... so there could be some system related problems there... But I do agree, overcast with GCI is really neat! :)
  16. Actually we are considering to have it at least once a month, just as we do with our 80s week. We will announce in advance as usual of course. The only possible issue would be the need for a minimum of 2 GCI controllers present, so that we can provide constant coverage for both BLUE and RED, especially since 51st is already stretched thin with many ongoing duties/projects, and we do want to fly too :) So, I strongly advice squads to consider bringing their GCI/ATC controllers for this event if they can! They can always ask me how to get all the necessary software installed and configured, just PM me or drop in on forum.51st.org for any questions. Remember, we will not be limited to 1 controller per side, so even if there is a language barrier or heavy traffic we can have more controllers assigned for each side and so forth. Also this type of duty can be very demanding and ideally a controller would need to be relieved by another shift after 2 or so hours not to loose his voice... hehe @104th - I do hope you guys get a GCI controller in for the next one, especially since Georgian Incident will use the GCI as we did in CI, which would mean invaluable practice for BLUEFOR and also to get all the software issues ironed out before hand. PM me if you got any questions/ideas etc.
  17. Yes, it seems that the ATC software became unstable after the restart due to us loading a corrupt config file to it...
  18. Thanx Crunch! Today on the last day of GCI weekend we are going to spice things up even further! We are intending to run the Mountain Divide mission with OVERCAST weather and 80s weapons only in order to maximize both sides reliance on GCI support for added immersion! *If anyone encounters FPS issues, we recommend installing the FPS overcast mod which can be downloaded here: http://www.51st.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=1720 Also feel free to volunteer for GCI duties if able!
  19. Btw guys feel free to bring your own GCI controller if you wish, we do need more controllers as we stand now... If any of the 104th guys are interested in the role then just ask me or come to 51st TS and we can set everything up! Also this might be a good idea to test the ATC software before the Georgian Incident kicks off as it looks like we are going to use it based on today's stability test... :)
  20. Thanx to all who showed up today! Especially 104th who I had the pleasure of providing GCI to on BLUE side... Good fun! See you all again tomorrow!
  21. Sweet! Cant wait to test how the server handles ATC software under heavy loads. This should be crucial for GI preparations! See you during the weekend :)
  22. @Tomcatz: Amazing work on the Kuz and especially the Mig-29K!! I just have one question: is it possible to make a MP pack whereby the 29K actually replaces Mig-29G for server purposes? The reason for that is simple, currently if a player doesn't have the mod installed and joins a server which supports Mig-29K, he will unfortunately see, "invisible" migs... :( However if the Mig-29K replaces a stock aircraft such as the 29G, then any player without the mod will simply see the G model instead of K, which IMO is not a big problem... Is this by any chance possible? Because if it is, that could mean we can actually see some Mig-29K in multiplayer action without compromising server integrity, and without forcing all players to install the mod! Please think about it Tomcatz, and mabe release some sort of Mig-29K MP pack!
  23. No, and No! :) There will be strict integrity checks for the servers as well, with default export.lua included. Perhaps in the future events there might be the possibility to spice things up with the use of ATC and so forth...
  24. Also note that we are currently discussing in raising the minimum requirement to 6v6, with no maximum (so if both squads have more on the match date they can agree on the number as long as its 6 or more per side) due to the numbers of teams signed up so far which can field 8-10 pilots per team! The final decision is up to comrade X-man, as he is the organizer of the event. The idea is to make the event more squad oriented as the name suggests. The key here is to involve the whole squad and its pilots as much as possible, and not just have the "select few" flying all the fights - for that there is always TCL. So, as it stands now with a 4v4 cap we are going to end up with too many small teams, many coming from the same squad, which doesnt make sense! Take the Chinese squads that signed up with close to 40 pilots as an example. Therefore, when signing up, be sure that you have at least 6-8 pilots available and confirmed, just to be sure not to miss out!
