Yup, the update informing us how the Install beta to the beta of the beta went. Fingers crossed. Just assume though if not out in next couple of days that something else was found and clock reset. Maybe they just have bets on how much they can screw with us. :megalol:

First of all, this thread is now in the Chit Chat section which has a comment "what relates but doesn't fit in" Should pretty much sum up how this discussion is seen so the rants should be ok. :megalol: As far as announcements, ED does it because it's what companies that want to survive do. They are in competition with other sims, and if they don't announce what they are doing, the community sometimes thinks the product has gone to sleep. Same with fixes (looking back it the network issue started around April of last year or earlier). Most software has come and gone in that time frame. I personally was given a warning back in may of last year for critizing releasing more features before fixing core multiplayer issues. (also because I did it a bit harshly) It's like the needle in the haystack. Finding it is hard but if you keep throwing on more hay it becomes harder (or even adds more needles). Continuing to release more features (incuding 1.2.3) without first fixing the issues just makes it worse (more hay).

It has been anoying but as several have noted before, the damage control is necessary and will be worth it in the long run. Only problem I see is we keep getting told that the beta is being tested etc etc. Last I checked is that FC3 is in beta. And since the FC3 beta is affecting the A-10C /KA-50 multiplayer, they are also included in the beta. That said, since we're all in beta why not release the beta to all of us to test it? or at least give us the choice to participate in helping with the beta until FC3 is officiall released. That way people would see what is happening and be able to provide even more feedback covering many more configurations. Some think that we just like to complain, but we simply want the product to succeed and not fail becuase of something basic in the industry. The answer isn't however sending warnings to those who are pointing out the obvious. Anyhow, still enjoying 1.2.2 while waiting for the next release.

1.2.3 Update Maybe I'm just blind but lost track of the 1.2.3 update thread. Did it disappear? Last I heard was all was well and they were building the release package. That was a week ago today. Did they run into more problems in the mean time? :dunno::pilotfly::music_whistling:

HOTAS WARTHOG-some questions
Hamblue replied to 9.JG27 DavidRed's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
As noted your warthog will be set, however a couple of the buttons and axis won't. My paddle switch is now set to trackir center. The zoom is set to the gray slider on the throttle. At first the trim pov was set to views in mine. I had to manually set it to trim. As for the axis the big one for me was the throttle slew control. Default was set way to low. Cranking saturation up to 70. (mine was defaulted at about 20) -
Info here: http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1962/14/ Remove the side of the case and verify both fans are runnning on the card. Also make sure there is plenty of air flow inside the case. If the card is dirty blow it out with compressed air. Another thing you can do is try running it with the side of the case off. Sometimes it helps if the problem is heat. I would also try updating to the latest drivers. www.guru3d.com usually has them.

Check to see if your video card is overheating.

If not in too much of a hurry and straight approach, I'll go from max to cut throttle at about 7-8 miles out. At 4-5 miles I use speed brake if still going over 190 and get the flaps down followed by the gear. Speed brake is left off after that until I land. I usually need a little throttle to keep it at 130 knots for landing. (With no ords).

If you just started using it give yourself time to learn it. Also try turning up the sensitivity so it doesnt take as much head movement to look around. Also when looking over side to side if you have a problem seeing an area, try moving your head in the opposite direction a little, hit recenter, then try again.

Phoenix, what are you using for a controller?
-
You should back off  By the way, we're waiting for the install package to be made. What exactly did the beta team install theirs with? Will the install package have to be beta tested? and if that passes with the final non beta package have to be tested as well? :smartass:

Thanks Next time I fly i'll try it. Who knows maybe I somehow switched modes.

Yup we're just the kids repeatin "is it done yet" more boredom than anything There are a few servers lately that have been very good staying on-line. Every once in a while though they pick a couple of people to repeadedly kick.

World, online servers

Just passing time is all. Realized today that almost a 1/6 of a year has passed since the announcement of 1.2.3. Imagine what this thread will look like when it hits a third of a year. ;)

Lately when playing on servers I sometimes cannot see the TAD diamond when scrolling around with the TGP. Is there something that toggles it on/off or is it a bug that sometimes it doesn't show?

You'll spend that much time just getting the joystick mapped the way you want it. It's the best time in gaming. Setting up the hardware.

The CBU's are my favorite after the MAV D's They also give you a nice show when they go off.

Because adding more code makes it that much harder to find the cause. This was discussed a few versions ago and those that pushed for all to stop and fix the bugs first were ignored and even given warnings. Since then additional releases have burried the problem deeper. They have to dig back to the original cause and then work out from there. It will take time and I hope that whoever is running the show takes notice for the next time around. These kind of things can make or break any product. So stand back and let them fix it right.

Looks great.

Don't know your background in the game but if you haven't flown the A-10 or KA you simply wouldn't understand. Maybe a glance at the almost 700 page manual for each would give a hint. It doesn't stop with starting the engines. It would be like someone not understanding how an FC flyer is any different than an x-box flyer since they have nothing to do but point and shoot. Some are so pathetic that they run from the fast movers on the other side and search for planes that cant fight back. Just how it is sometimes I guess. :joystick::pilotfly:
