Issues already and a new guy needs some guidance
Hamblue replied to waistcat's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
It's usually something overlooked. I would stop everything and hook the Warthog up. Hell, I'm getting jittery with the thought of a new Warthog sitting on the floor while trying to do keyboard commands. -

Getting the engines to run was my first hurdle that took hours. Once you get the warthog you'll find out quickly that there are things that have to be done in order. These should get the engines running. (leaving out the other stuff) 1. Make sure the throttles are in the off position. 2. battery and inverter on to provide power to start the APU. 3. turn on fuel pumps 4.start the apu. When it hits 100 speed click the apu generator on. 5. Move the Left engine throttle to the idle position. or the key command to start. The left engine should start and ramp up to 60% 6. Move the Right engine throttle to the idle position. or the key command to start. The right engein should start and ramp to 60% There are other things in the procedure like oxygen, and many other settings but these should get your engines running. The big one I used to forget is to put the throttles to off before starting. There are several very good posts you can do a search for which will give you a full checklist. These help a lot until it becomes second nature. Good Luck. Also. Don't do any of these things until you hook that HOTAS up. Don't tease yourself. Also do not install target. The game will set the switches automatically. -
You have 2 of the same thread running. This one should be locked
-
As noted it's the Point of Interest. Wherever that point (tank, building, BMP, bunker, Rock) is what you are aiming at and intend to destroy or pass along to someone else. The SOI is just the tool you are using to look at the SPI.

It takes some getting used to but you can use the MAV as a TGP and find and lock targets.

Thanks. BTW. The multiplayer section question was before I realized they moved my thread into this section :poster_oops:

Is it possible to create a mission where both the red and blue vehicles are located in the same area or would they automatically attack each other?. For instance a group of red tanks and blue tanks and AAA/sams on the gudata runway with both red and blue aircraft attacking from different directions. Objective would be to destroy the other sides vehicles to win. Kind of a king of the hill scenario since you'd also have to fight each other. Thanks

Thanks What I was doing wrong was when I added a unit as you said I didn't realize that the added unit type could be changed. Lightbulb went off. Thanks again. I shouldn't have started messing with this. Now I'm getting hooked.

Is there a way to add several vehicles to the same group? Say I add 4 BTR-80's and want them to be in the same group. I call the group for the first one BTR Group 1. The second one I enter is automatically called BTR Group 1a. etc for the other 2. When doing triggers I want to set when the 4 are dead. (Entire BTR Group1) The list however shows them as all separate. If I pick the first unit in the group will the trigger know to trip when all 4 are dead? Thanks

FC3 DCS has stopped responding in win 7 after mission end
Hamblue replied to emenance's topic in Game Crash
As long as it doesn't crash half way into a mission I'm happy  -
Thanks Eddie When the radio menu goes away will there still be a method to load the previous loadout? including the default loadout set by the mission designer?
-
Thanks Also, how do you import custom objects? From the static option list I don't see several structures that have been in custom maps, such as cranes and the nuclear cooling tower.
-
Thanks So when you have 400 total units with 150 active, do the 250 inactive units affect the FPS/stability of the game? Also once a unit is destroyed does it no longer show as a unit and it's effect on FPS/stability?
-
When designing a mission, does the use of triggers reduce the object count and it's effects of FPS? Example, If you have 100 tanks in a mission, andset it up in 4 groups, where group 1 has 25 tanks with the other 75 hidden. After group 1 is destroyed, group 2 shows up with another 25 tanks and 50 hidden. Repeat with group 3 and 4. Is the object count during play reflected by only the 25 at a time or the same as if you just put up 100 tanks from the start.? Hope I worded it right. :pilotfly:

If you're getting kicked in 1.2.3 you should post a track file for the testers.
-
Not the one I'm talking about. Backslash followed by F8 Ground Crew, Then F2 Rearm, Then F6 Anti Armor. This brings up 10 selections of different loadouts and used to load those if hit. I use F9 normally. Now if you try one you will get that loadout. After the loadout use alt ' to modify it. (say remove 2 cbu's, Aim-9's). The load changes. Fly a mission and return. After returning use the backslash and try selecting the F9 loadout again. It no longer does the loadout but the Alt ' modification you did.
-
I'll try to stay on the sidelines with this one since 1.2.3 seems to be working good. I might give the huey a try.
-
The re-arm menu is still there for me, but when I use it the loadout goes back to the last Alt ' I selected.

Help With setting up TrackIR
Hamblue replied to Mt5_Roie's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Are you using the hat clip or trackclip pro? If using the trackclip, make sure you select it and also turn down the ir brightness to zero -
Once in flight the A-10 doesn't need rudder input very often. It's coordinated with the ailerons automatically

Mavs have been doing quite all right the last couple of nights. The CBU97's however seem to be hit or miss with even BTR's I see them hit but no kill sometimes.

Some people ask this question when the brakes are reversed on the controllers. If the brakes are on when not pushing and off when pushing, go to the axis settings and click "invert axis" This will make them work correctly.

1.2.3 DSMS Loadout problem after editing mission
Hamblue replied to Geskes's topic in Bugs and Problems
I postd a similar issue. Did an Alt ' loadout. When I did a second loadout I used one of the standard ones. It ignored the standard loadout and re-did the ealier Alt ' custom one. At least someone recognized yours. Mine was brushed over. -
Try going into the controls and adjust the saturation of the slew axis up.
