in the 159th server I did my initial load using Alt '. After my flight I landed and reloaded using the backspace key followed by ground crew, then rearm then 6 for armor and then 9 for the 6 AGM-D's 4 CBU's etc. When the rearm was finished I had my original Alt' custom loadout. I did another flight and when I landed whent through the same routine and once again it ignored the standard loadout and loaded the custom Alt ' load out I did originally. Version is 1.2.3

In the 159th server I was flying in an A-10C. There were 3 other A-10c's in the air. On the TAD I used to be able to see them in green if they weren't in my Group. Now I can't. After selecting a User ID I was able to see them in Purple. However the purple icons were not steady as before but flickering off and on. Version is 1.2.3

Might want to try repair. Also try another mission after opening and saving in mission editor.

Friendly Plane Icons In the 159th server tonight I was flying in an A-10C. There were 3 other A-10c's in the air. On the TAD I used to be able to see them in green if they weren't in my Group. Now I can't. After selecting a User ID I was able to see them in Purple. However the purple icons were not steady as before but flickering off and on. Version is 1.2.3 Overall the game and missions seemed to load faster and everything seemed to run very smoothe and responsive. Great patch.

Torrent now pushing 3.5 MB/sec :)

I'm autoupdating and downloading the torrent the same time. I'll let it seed some over the next couple of days. Might take a while. The torrent is only getting 100kb/sec

You have to see some humor in that the choppers cant start. I for one think it's pretty hilarious. No offense to the testers in reality as it's obvious that someone did a last minute tweak after the testing done. :pilotfly:
-
So if the testers missed something like,,,, Oh yeah you can't even start the choppers, then what other surprises are in there? AGM-65's fly in reverse? or Gear doesn't retract or.... fill in the blanks. I'm sure glad they did't let the inexperienced or unqualified people test it. This is going to be a good one.:lol:

The thread was moved to the chit chat area last week http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=99338&page=120 Post count is over 1k since many have passed the time with off the wall comments (which is why they moved it). Wags even gave an update there the other day that wasn't on the official news area.

I thought I read a thread where instructions were given for setting the current server without graphics etc enabled. Am I dreaming and if not where was it?

104th Dedicated Server - Weapons Restrictions
Hamblue replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Multiplayer
On paper that's fair. But the ground Ai has a better chance against A-10/KA50 than we do against the fast movers. Nothing better than shooting at something that has no chance of shooting back and often can't even detect the threat until missiles are inbound. simply put the ground pounders wouldn't operate in hostile area without good cover. With a few exceptions we usually don't have that. Just nature of the game I guess. -
Not necessarilly. This started before Combined arms. There were issues with 1.1.1.1 before world. What I think you're seeing is a little internal finger pointing (if the russian quote is from an internal source). Everyone inside needs to keep focused on their jobs. Whoever is running the show needs to look at current running servers that are having the least problems. They've already figured out what the main culprits are. Work on fixing the culprits one by one and releasing along the way. Personally I would allow anyone who wanted a different level of beta to help troubleshoot the crashes. With this provide a couple of beta servers both stateside and europe centered on the net issue. Have at least one moderator in each beta. When someone crashes have the moderator verbally ask them questions about configuration, actions etc to get the info. That way you can get valuable info from unexperienced people with beta's. Edit: I also wonder if they've tried a striped down version of the server, similar to a dedicated server. If the serving PC doesn't have to deal with graphics, controls etc, do you get better stability. Just curious because that's how many companies with large scale servers do it.

Thanks Wags To be honest with ya, if it isn't perfect but better than 1.2.2 I would think it would be welcome by most. One thing that I think would help though is to offer some details of any items that appear to cause the most issues. That way the mission makers can design around them. After all, even with 1.2.2 the better servers have figured out the weak points and have designed missions that minimize crashes. Offering notes up front would just make it easier and expose issues to the average player less. There's obviously a little snag that will take some time and the pressure isn't going to make it happen any faster. The issue will be found for sure but not with a gun to their head with the deadlines. Just my opinion <S>

104th Dedicated Server - Weapons Restrictions
Hamblue replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Multiplayer
Maverick. I'd suggest putting the ground target area's the opposite direction of the enemy bases. 104th server runs great but it is probably one of the only one's that fast movers go out of their way to constantly get easy kills from the groudnd pounders. It's only a few doing it but enough to stay away when flying A-10. As I noted on the forum a couple will even hang out on the enemy voice coms and comment how they are hunting A-10's. You can't ask for Friendly ID on RWR because it gives them your location. This might have been rectified but not as of a month ago. -
It really isn't. I've seen outside help brought in for significant problems as well as cleaning up code to reduce the size. They may already be doing it for all we know. On the back burner, management sometimes gets a second bonus. An insurance policy if one or more programmers are ever lost for whatever reason. Having someone familiar with the work isn't a bad thing.

On another note, I could imagine that Wags is beginning to get pretty ticked off. He has to keep kicking the can down the road and take the grief from customers and defending the slow progress, while he should be reaping benefits of good product and working on the next milestone. I know how he feels for sure but the entire team gets the glory when everything shines, and the grief when a few don't work to par.

It's been invented a long time ago. Called Consultants. When working at Honeywell we had a team that couldn't figure out a couple of bugs in software. We simply hired outside help to review it. Only took a couple of weeks. The engineers didnt like it but our customers had their product working. 2 months of active troubleshooting should have been more that enough. Almost enough to write the net code from scratch. Sometimes when someone is lost all you have to do is turn the map around because it's upside down.

Mustang you tease you

It's been there for the last couple of weeks.

Just a reminder of what Wags put out in his last update. Don't hold your breath. "While it is certainly not a promise, we will do our very best to release of 1.2.3 by the end of the week. " Eventually we'll be surprised but maybe they're waiting for Simhq to take the DC world v1.2.2 headline off of their main page. :music_whistling:

I would just use the refurbished drive. Most of them are new units that the consumer bricked by trying to set it up wrong. They simply flash everything back to original and re-use them. They don't replace bad chips and send them out.

Nvidia's next GPU is due out in the next few months. You could upgrade to the what will be the hands down fastest or get the 680 then, which should drop in price. In the mean time they also just released the Titan if you have a thousand bucks laying around. http://www.engadget.com/2013/02/19/nvidia-gtx-titan-announce/

Your data shows 1 object. have you tried to see if each object has the same effect on the game? For instance it would make sense that a SAM targeting a plane in-game would have a different effect that one sitting idle. If you fly an aircraft towards the same group does it change things?
