The upcoming release moves to 2.2.3 which is a major change. Maybe they'll remove FC3 from beta

I'm thinking a couple of real training flights in a Cesna would beat any training flights in a simulator hands down.

Bring up the camera screen. You should only see the 3 dots from your clip. if you see anything else it could be a light source from behind you. Any other source will screw up the operation. Even reflected sunlight from a window across the room will do it. You can also adjust the IR illuminator intensity as well as sensitivity.

I think they enjoy watching the pretty fireballs I make. Hard to get anyone to help capping with a few exceptions. Anyhow, back to Wags news.:D

Thanks for the Heads Up Hope the MP client crash is true. Would be worth it alone. The only thing missing is an A-10 stealth mode in multiplayer.:music_whistling: It's getting hard these days with the F-15 and 29's flying around getting easy kills.

Yes but not nearly enough with default settings. By increasing in setup things got much better. The default ramp was almost a horizontal line.

HUD tape swerves to left or right with rudder takeoff

If you change direction 90 degrees does it go away? Sounds like you might have a cross wind. -
You can buy it here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?end_pos=1322&scr=shop&lang=en

When re-installing, use a different name for the directory. A registry clean wouldn't hurt either. If those don't work you might have to erase your user files, or at least back them up and erase.

My repair button in the start menu points to this file. You should be able to use explore to find it and create a shortcut on your desktop. The quotes should probably be removed. Also the exact location will depend on the directory the game is installed in. Also the word repair will not be on the file. You have to add it to the shortcut properties. Good Luck "C:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\DCS World\bin\DCS_updater.exe" repair

Do you have full screen mode selected? Also make sure there isn't a background program that has automatic updates turned on. For one acrobat reader will jump in randomly and disrupt the game.

If you follow the bearing it will place you at the approach to the runway, not exactly at the airfield. I use it especially when damage takes out my TAO

Slowing the plane down does give you more time on target, but it also results in more time being a target. The US works the plane the way they do to limit the damage to the airframe and bring more pilots home. In game though running with brakes does let you pepper the target more.

What exactly are you looking for? If it's drivers you can find the latest here: http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/49949

Now that you're moving into weapons and have the warthog stick you might find that slewing the tgp and maverick seems to be very slow. I had that problem for over a month before I noticed that the slew control was tuned way down by default. You adjust it in the axis settings. I ramped it up to about 50% of maximum and it turned my game completely around for the better. Where I could only attack a single target and maybe 2 in a single pass, I can now get up to 5 or 6. Searching is much easier as well.

Just practice with the TGP and Maverick from about 14k until you learn it inside and out, then go to the next weapon. As to the start-up, after a while you will think it's easier to do the a-10 cold start. There are no keyboard commands, just buttons and switches to push. You also have the trouble boad to refer to for most items.

Blueridge is probably right. Pitot heater being off will definitely cause it and is the likely cause. When you turn it on it takes a couple of minutes to melt the ice blockage and show the correct speed.
-
Great feeling isn't it? Before you know it it will be second nature. Time to set another objective.

I have the same problem every time I run my windows maintenance progarm (System Mechanic) The clean function that clears trash files etc seems to screw up my multi-player and give me CI's. All it takes to fix is use the start menu and select "Repair DCS World". A re-install isnt needed.

Noob ish question: spotting things
Hamblue replied to Witchking's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Agreed, A good example is the airliner. How many times have any one of us heard the engines of an airliner, looked up, and had problems finding it? Typically they fly about 6 miles up and are several times larger than the average fighter. Also if you have flown in an airliner and looked out the window for a while sometims you'll see another aircraft. Chances are that for every one you see, there are dozens you don't, especially the ones lower than you. -
You could use a hosting site and send the link to support.

He has the Trackir 4 hardware and running trackir 5 software which is fine. Next I would again make sure the right button is clicked and then adjust the ir strength. Also use the head view to see how it's moving. If it's just jerking around(as mine was) a setting will be wrong.
-
Olekrow, do you have a hatclip (trackclip)or the trackclip pro? In the set-up did you make sure the right one is clicked? After a recent update I was going nuts for a half hour before I noticed that trackclip was clicked by default and I had the Trackclip pro. A simple click fixed me up.
-
His post says he has dual GTX 670's not ATI. In TrackIR do you have buttons set to center and pause it? The unit on top of the monitor should show 2 Green LED's If it shows 1 then it isn't seeing the game If it shows orange then try hitting F9 or whatever you have pause set to.

So does SEAD stand for Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses and DEAD stand for Destruction of Enemy Air Defenses? or is it just a coincidence?
