If you're in multiplayer you could simply wait for someone else to get shot at. Once you see the missile trail they're easy to kill with Mav's. The other way is to wait until you see them on the RWR. Then back off a little and enter a circle pattern while you search with your TGP.

I would de-activate, uninstall and then re-install with a fresh download. Only load A-10 at first. Does the Single player work ok? Also what are you system specs including internet connection?

Go into the options and turn everything to Low for starters.

I wouldn't wait until the end of month to continue. Even if you put an hour in now and then to practice it will help cement what you already learned

Try loading the mission in the editor and saving. Then do a repair on your installation. I have the problem whenever I do a scan for junk files. The repair fixes it.

By the way, you don't have to shut the engines off to re-arm or re-fuel. Just when doing repairs.

Here's a video to show how. You can fast forward to 1:45 for the reload dsms.

You have to re-load the DSMS. If you press the button you'll notice that you don't have any weapons showing. Doing a re-load will re-populate the system so it knows what weps are available and where.

Now that you can land I would suggest not using the external view. It just creates bad habbits. At this point you should be able to land ok.

Re-download is probably best but if you have a lot of data, you can simply install the laptop hard drive in the new machine and copy the data over. If it's not too much then just use usb drives to do the job.

That looks like it could just work :) I'll have to give it a try. Rather than look at the mav's view for zoom I could try the hud zoom. :thumbup:

Another thing to remember is when the wheels touch down, don't just let the front wheel drop to the runway. Ease it down to prevent blowing the tire.

Try flying a few hundred feet with flaps and landing gear down for a while. Vary your speed including as low as possible while keeping flying. After an hour doing that you should do much better. Also a big mistake people make is turning on the wheel steering too soon. You should leave it off until you are around 60 knots or so. (When taking off I turn off wheel steering at 55). The good thing is that once you get the hang of it you shouln't have much problem with any other sim in the future (except for large commercial :music_whistling:)

Also being a Russian developer based in moscow, it would make more sense to get more info about western aircraft including tactics from actual pilots. Just make them feel important and some will tell everything. Throw in a couple of obsolete russian aircraft to make the users happy and all's well. :pilotfly:

Hello All So far I've been doing ok shooting mavericks the "easy" way targeting with the pod and then slewing the mav to SPI. While it's fine doing this at 10 miles out I see the more experienced pilots flying low and engaging with mavs close range. I assume they are targeting using the Hud. Are there any video's or other that shows how to do this? Thanks

Any chance that you found a good configuration in the last version and the update wiped the settings out? You might have to go through it all again. I would set everything to it's lowest setting and adjust each higher one or 2 at a time to find the right mix.

Good to hear. I'll be sticking with windows 7. It was good from the beginning and continues to be the best platform to date. I also despise the metro look and feel. Hopefully they add an option to revert back to the windows 7 desktop soon, otherwise windows 7 will be the modern day equivelant of windows XP.
