Catalyst 13.8B - Back to the box!
Brisse replied to Jeesus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
That might be true, but let's hope for the best. There certainly was a problem becouse it was stuttering a lot. I don't think Fraps FPS counter lied. It was stuttering so much that I could not control the aircrafts and I crashed into the terrain. That last part actually happened several times. Now, after reverting to 13.4, everything is fine. I have no idea if it was related to that thing you mentioned about the card not using the right clocks. I should have checked before reverting the driver. -

I would like everyone that installed 13.8 to check out this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=111231 DCS does not seem to like this 13.8 driver. Big performance issues. -

Alright! I just reverted from 13.8 to 13.4 and I did a quick test before and after. 13.8 Scene 1: 22 FPS Scene 2: 18 FPS 13.4 Scene 1: 30FPS Scene 2: 25FPS This is a big improvement. -
Catalyst 13.8B - Back to the box!

I noticed FPS was horrible while flying today. I have 13.8 so I guess now I know why. Using HD6950 with unlocked shaders and a tiny bit of overclocking. -
If anyone eventually does take on this project, I think they will leave the Su-25 as it is and take on the Su-25SM as a DCS project.
-
This is one of the most fun aircraft in the game at the moment, even without DCS fidelity. I have all modules of course, and they are all worth every penny :)
-
Sennheiser HD650 and Xonar Essence STX That is of course an expensive setup for music listening mostly but it works great for everything so I don't use anything else. If the reason is only DCS then get something else. No need for expensive audiophile stuff. Put in about 100$ for a headset and you get something decent that will last for a long time if treated with respect. It is possible to get headsets for thousands of $ but there is no need for DCS.

This is for the plane in DCS based on testing or is it data from the real thing?
-
They should start doing that on airshows. It beats the cobra any day. That evasive manouver at the end was awsome.
-
No idea if this is known or not but I cannot skim through 128 pages to check so here it is: I just did the F15 instant action mission and my wingman got really close on the six of a MiG. He should have switched to guns of course but he kept spamming AIM120's on that MiG and of course it was way to close so they all just flew right past the MiG. He did not switch to guns until he run out of missiles. Stupid wingman :) I have a TacView replay if that helps. Just send me a PM if anyone want to see. Edit: I'm using 1.2.5 with the latest hotfixes (2013-08-04)

The August 2nd Wags Update! Thread
Brisse replied to Silver_Dragon's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Making 1.2.6 open beta might be a good move, but I don't think it changes much. We just had a 2 week open beta of 1.2.5 with bug reports from the community. It's just that it was not branded as open beta and some people was upset by the bugs. The latter part will be avoided by using the term "open beta" for 1.2.6. I think it is a good move. It will make a lot of people happy. -
Bullets do bounce on water, even the pointy ones. A 5.56 NATO can change it's flightpath as much as 90 degrees by only hitting a small branch on a bush. You will have to give us some kind of proof to prove your statement to us if we are going to belive you, but that might not be easy.
-
Then you should see the proper DCS modules. Sure, they take more time to learn, but they are the best simulations we can dream of. The Flaming Cliff stuff is nice to have too but they are very simple in comparison to DCS-modules.
-
Yes, they have been working hard to lessen the FPS impact of effects like flares, fire, smoke and explosions. It really does help with FPS :)
-
I'm pretty sure it does not have to be like that. I have the Arma3 BETA dev build on steam and it's updated on a daily basis.
-
Last week we saw a big update from Wags and this week has been turbulent becouse of 1.2.5 release. I do not expect a big update today. Maybe copy/paste from the newsletter.

DCS 1.2.5 Released, Update 2 Released
Brisse replied to SkateZilla's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Agree with you both. The slip indicator is glued to the center. I can understand if they want FC3 aircraft to be easy to fly. Here's what I think they should do: In the options menu under the "special" tab they should add FC3 and add a checkbox called something like "A10A realistic flight" wich disables SAS and enables independent wheel braking. Everyone would be happy if they could make that work :) -

Brisse replied to SkateZilla's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
No independent wheel brakes. No progressive air brakes. SAS seems active, but it was a long time since I flew the A10C so I might be wrong. Good news: All chemical weapons have been removed from the game. No more nasty green explosions. -

I don't see them. Perhaps ED don't want to confuse us with icons for modules that has not been released yet, or maybe they were removed for FC3 owners? -

Confirmed ! I just tested it and had the same results. A-10A now has AFM but trim does not work. -

Does ED ever get to go on vacation? Their minds must be boiling by now.
