@ApoNOOB, poor VR guys like me can press 2 or 3 and in the moment sit on seat without gunsight...so workaround already exists.

@paco2002, can you try to use RCtrl+Shift+Num2 to move your head lower? I am not sure if it works in VR...if not, you can move your head upper and then recenter VR.

So you should submit another wishlist item to be able to load door gunners without hardpoints. If you have problems with your neck you should visit doctor. I fly Mi-8 in VR regularly and I don't have any neck issues...I can't say the same when doing VR dogfighting in other planes. ;-) Anyway I still support adding to the game possibility to remove hardpoints and EVU during mission. If it will be a little realistic, so you have to shutdown helicopter, let exhausts cooldown and then at least 1 minute for removal of hardpoints and gunsight, another one minute to remove EVU plus don't forget time to remove currently loaded weapons. Or you can fly on servers where are prepared helicopters to suits your needs like:

Maybe just random weather within some parameter would be enough. I don't see any reason to match it with real world.

Subscription would make sense only if they start it as new product and current will remain available. Also ED have to finish all EA modules before they can stop updating current version.

Module is already capable of all that, you just need to set it before mission. Try to show us some video, when Mi-8 lands and ground crew runs to it to remove hardpoints, armor or evu because pilots feels that he will not need that in next 30 minutes...

@smallberries, that's how real pilot fly it too...there is not any reason to make cheats for us VR pilots. If you chose to fly Mi-8 with EVU and gunsight you are stuck with it. Also it is much easier to look around gunsight in VR than with TrackIR or using hat on joystick. If you are not happy to fly with Mi-8 as in was engineered you should probably switch to different module. Next time you will want to cheat to remove compass and gunsight from MiG-15/L-39 because it blocks your view and you don't need it. If you want to play arcadish...choose servers where you will have Mi-8s with gunsight and without and hot in air and you can switch very fast. EDIT: anyway I think it still could be doable in DCS (but possible to disable on server side), but it needs to be implemented for all modules. (Very low priority. There are other things I would love to see in Mi-8 much sooner.)

I don't think you will be able to activate mod during mission, so you still will have to restart your game... It would be much easier to have in mission prepared another Mi-8 without gunsight and hardpoints for tasks where you don't need it. So why bother to "fix" something what is caused by bad mission design?

You joined wrong server (slot) if you wanted Mi-8 without EVU and gunsight. ;-) UH-1H cannot remove gunsight and EVU during mission too. UH-1H just don't have static gunsight, so you can move it away.

You can remove hardpoint with gunsight in mission editor. exchaust suppresors are on different page there:

I just opened multiplayer, checked top ten servers with most players and F-16CM is most flown module...that's does not look like it's not fun to fly.

I don't buy promises, I buy modules in EA because I am happy with their state at that moment I will fly them at that state for many hours having fun. If you are not happy with how fast development goes you failed as customer to check what and where are you buying. Better an egg today than a hen tomorrow.

You are both being selfish...you bough EA Hornet and now you want to block other people's chance to buy EA planes which they want...don't even think about blocking me from buying Mi-24P as soon as it will be flyable.

There should be a server option to disable marking yourself on the kneepad map. Anyway old problem is fixed...new one created...but without multicrew you should be overloaded enough to not care about area behind crew.

@Cowboy10uk, that's false statement from you...if you will check changelogs from this year, there are bugfixes and small new features for UH-1H/Mi-8MTV2.

@unknown: That's the point, they did not have to. So we can say it is possible to make module when you will have other person flipping switches, but that's still not full picture of what is needed for complete helicopter multicrew.

Tomcat was released 6 years after UH-1 and Mi-8 and RIO is not even able to control plane. It proves only that you can now make module where you can have other person able to flip switches. Also 3 years ago other 3rd party tried that with Gazelle and were not able...so ED may had made a lot of changes that make that possible now.
