  1. Edit: I managed to work backwards through the issue and it turned out that my router assigned a different IP to the server computer- keep thinking I'll just set it to static but they don't change that often. When that computer has its address changed obviously your ports no longer remain forwarded. Anyway- good luck.
  2. I thought there was a way to create a zone based on the route of a late activated object... I'm not trying to create a zone to detect a unit entering- I'm just trying to establish a zone that a unit can be randomly spawned within.
  3. Just spitballing this out there- For the situation where it works fine locally but not on another server... when the guy on the other end loads the mission, does he open it up and save it under a different name with his own customized options? I recall back in the day if you just took a mission from someone else and ran it, it would cause all sorts of problems. If you opened the mission on your own ME, then saved it under a different name it would resolve a bunch of issues. Again, this was old time problem solving and may not work. I'm looking at this setup with great interest since it does create a nice environment- a bit concerned about the MP issues though.
  4. Okay, I wondered about that too... did you start your aircraft inside the zone?
  5. I remember when I started prepare mission would wreck missions with a high degree of probability... did this ever get fixed?
  6. Thanks riv. Cargo is in statics- structures might be different. I haven't had a chance to dork with it yet. EDIT: IT WORKED! Okay so now if you wanted to spawn that structure with vehicles from a separate group- can you do that? Reason being the structure will have defenses spawn in the same zone (ideally).
  7. Wonder if it's the "part of coalition in zone" issue. If it's just your aircraft that is "all of coalition in zone." Try going "unit in zone" and identify your aircraft. Are you going to set it up so you fly out of the zone after battle and then re-enter to get one of the other aircraft?
  8. Don't set it to "flag is true" you need to set it it "flag value = 1 / 2 / 3" and activate the relevant group. Flag is true would be more appropriate if you were to set "unit in zone / flag (x) = true." In this case you're talking about the value within a certain flag- not actually different flags and whether or not different flags have been set (ie: true).
  9. If you watch some of the MOOSE configuration videos he uses a "live log" of some sort that will show a live view of your mission as it plays. I can't recall the name of the program off the top of my head- But in doing what I was talking about- just go to "dcs.log" in your "saved game" folder and review it afterwards if you're getting errors.
  10. Someone may correct me but I'm pretty sure the error code that gets thrown will identify the line in the code where your error occurs. To get to the line just go to the .miz file and open it with 7zip and then open the "mission" file within that folder with a code editor like notepad++ Then you can scroll down to the appropriate line and make adjustments. Typically if I've been uncertain of things then I'll trigger them to happen immediately on starting the mission (fly mission). If there's anything to fix then I'll go to the line of code and see what it was, then go back to the trigger item I put in and fix it. In theory you can just fix it in the "mission" file however if the mission is still open then you won't be able to save it (unless you change the file name.)
  11. I've read a few older threads on the issue- and I'm sorry if I missed mention of it somewhere... but is there a clearly defined way to randomly spawn a static / structure in a defined zone using MIST?

    1.5.6

Wasn't there a way you could go into a file and change one line to get it to download the Beta without it being a separate install? Memory is rusty... but it might be an option.
  13. Just go into the parent folder into scripts / database db_countries. Scroll to around the middle of the file and you'll see equipment on a per nation basis. Copy the aircraft you want and paste them where desired. In fact you can move any equipment wherever you want. I think that's what you're asking for... but you won't have special skins that automatically paint Russian aircraft in some chosen country paint job... same skins as usual just different country affiliation.
  14. Any chance your brake pedals are still inverted and you're taking off with your brakes applied? Sorry- it's not as uncommon as you might think.

Thanks Slow- Hoping to bump into you out there sometime soon!
  16. I'm on a phone now so a bit of a pain to link to but basically in the setup video the language we're told to embed is 5.2. I imagine for people not using the enhanced functionality of 5.2 the general functions in MOOSE will work fine but for people wanting to execute 5.2 functionality it will cause issues (I imagine)
  17. Have you looked into MOOSE At all yet?

    Eno's Firehouse

A quick update. I have succeeded in getting the Firehouse Server back up and running again. Mission content is still a bit slow in coming but I am running the 476th target range with all available slots in 2.0. I have split the mission into north and south target areas. This was an effort to ensure good performance for all clients. JTAC positions are all human only. Like many, I'm currently working through MOOSE to generate dynamic mission content. This is like trying to teach a monkey how to play ping pong- painfully slow but hilarious at the same time. Unlike the "old days" the server is currently password protected. I'm happy to share the password with any enthusiasts within the community- but I'd like to keep the server content mature and friendly. Please just send me PM.
  19. It's a reasonable request... I'm not sure I'll squeeze it into the file name (though in some cases it's not out of the question) but I do think it's important to highlight the available modules in the server description. You made me go and adjust accordingly...
  20. How did you resolve it? Future hosts may want to know...
  21. Even on the more recent iteration of 476th NTTR range .miz file they say they run "north" and "south" versions separately for their events- and while they have a lot of "stuff" in the main module I'm pretty sure it's not even close to 8000 items. By "north" and "south" they are probably well under 1000 items for both together... so yeah. 8000 items at once is probably out of scope for DCS.
  22. Whoa whoa... Everything I've seen so far points to 5.2? And it seems to work okay? Maybe I'm not looking close enough. In addition I will say with the exception to the step where you add a DCS folder (which it sounds is added in another place anyway) I will say emphatically that my intellisense is working fine- it doesn't "auto" generate as I type but when I hover my mouse over what I'm typing the appropriate window pops up that I can scroll through with all instructions.
