Forgot to load my dsms- turned EO on and it took 6 minutes for me to realize my error lol. Kept that little nugget to myself on Ts3 that night!
-
Let me know if your Mavs ever take longer than 3 minutes to warm up. Got a bit of learning done on that little oversight this weekend.
-
I'm proud of myself as I did see this one and would have been able to help. Glad you got it resolved. If you forget again I'm pretty sure you can just turn it off then on again.
-
You of all people know that ish will launch at max range every time (unless the mission designer late activates it like a wiseguy) so the launch will almost always go undetected lol.

It has worked in mp since it only mattered that the container was moved... not by whom. But like you've pointed out the trigger only fired once the cargo hit the ground. I think I can do the triggers you've mentioned- at least it's worth a shot. Major pita though.
-
That certainly explains everything- now then... Is this just he way it's going to be or is it something being worked on? Any ideas?
-
Yeah this is way up on my wish list. There is a way around but it involves running an mp session simultaneously so you save the location, load the mission mp and view. Not ideal but its a workaround.

Quick question I asked over in mission builders but this may be the better place for it... Can the loads be tracked with triggers while they are in the air? Reason I ask is I had a trigger to pop smoke in the zone where I Wanted the cargo dropped (once the load got close) and the trigger didn't fire until the container hit the ground. I think the container got damaged or destroyed on the put down since the subsequent trigger didn't fire (the one that was actually intended to be triggered when the container was put down at a certain zone and under a certain altitude.) Also- there is a script out there to detect when a unit has "landed" in a particular zone- useful for choppers dropping off infantry. I was wondering if these cargo units would function the same way? That way I wouldn't need to predict the altitude lower than... I could just use that lua predicate and unit in zone to trigger the appropriate response. Thanks.
-
I rolled the dice with a mission and committed them to no roads and still had about a dozen trapped on bridges... New patch. Wish there was a way to make the units that don't move for 5 minutes disappear.
-
Can someone explain how the cargo is tracked? I had a choppers pick up cargo then transport it. On approach they enter a trigger zone that sets smoke for where it is to be delivered- it didn't go off (unit in zone). Once the load was dropped off- the previous trigger was activated for the smoke- but then the action for putting it down didn't. I'm confused as to how these events are tracked. I get the impression the load is only monitored when on the ground. True?

We've had some problems with a particular squadron that have previously resulted in banning a number of their members. Today, another one was in spectating... and strangely one of the guys flying got "killed" by the spectator. The message was transmit to everyone and was very weird. About 20 minutes later, same guy had an engine failure randomly... then another... then another- each time something weird and unexplained would happen. That (other) member remained in the spectator slot. Knowing the guy who was experiencing all the issues was an expert in the domain, I booted the guy I suspected... And it didn't happen anymore. Anyway, log and track file attached... some feedback would be appreciated. PM me for more info if desired. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8MeQLQ7pOpjVmV2VmlVLW02U28/edit?usp=sharing

Oh good... turns out all my missions are crashing now... Anyone else?
-
Please delete- seems an issue with my original beta install. crash 04.18.14.zip

Hmmm well the other way around you can activate the group that is firing the missile when the target group enters the zone... you can then set the flag at that occurrence instead. Learning some basic scripting wouldn't hurt but there are generally reliable ways around it as well.
-
My only concern about these scripts is whether the aircraft will spawn if a client aircraft has taken that spot or has moved into that position to rearm and refuel?
-
I'll go see if I can find it- sounds very familiar. Until then my suggestion is just late activate it. Only difference is the aircraft won't be visible sitting there... it's a small price to pay. EDIT: Yeah I thought it looked familiar: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=121274

Pretty sure that function is borked... sounds familiar.

Yes if "initial condition" is basically "mission start" then I don't think it'll work like FLagrum was saying. If you did "un fois" and then "time is more" 10, then your triggered actions... it should work. I'm assuming it will only need to have that A-10 enter the zone once?

This may be a non event but anyone else having trouble using the cntrl v combination to paste scripts in the do script window? I can get it to paste in a window here, notepad++ etc... I can copy / clone units no problem on the map... but as soon as I go to paste the script in the script window it doesn't paste. Anyone else (128 beta)?

Thanks tigercat all pretty good shots. Too bad that top one isn't a full aircraft shot... I'm a bit of a Jolly Rogers guy- I should have stated that before... the 80s colour scheme with gull grey over white... There are a few other favourites that have really nice tail art as well... Swordsmen, Pukindogs (just love the story of that squadron)... Tarsiers... black aces back in those days were pretty awesome too. Also she has mentioned that the lighting in the photo needs to be pretty bright to reveal the details she needs to capture... I have one that we're looking at from a sequence in the Final Countdown- Not sold on it... but it is one of my favourites with that quintessential Tomcat load- the Phoenix, Sparrow and Sidewinder... I've been through the image search in google and found a few that are pretty good but of course the problem with photos from that era are they're pretty low def. Looking for those really unique and harder to find photos that won't be as familiar to enthusiasts...

Well if you're interested in a panel up to 48x48 (she's also talked about doing a single image across multiple panels so that larger images can be shipped) then drop me a line and we will make that happen. On another note it's official- her next project is going to be an F-14... so now the hunt is on for the best available Tomcat photo. Please post the best photos you've ever seen HERE!

Only reason I Wouldn't at this point is if he gets stuck the mission is compromised. Instead- I Would put something in that said JTAC is moving positions, deactivate one and activate a new one at the new location.

This argument is as played out as Lambo doors.

I found I understood the conflict and the political sensitivity a lot more when I watched the documentary "The Death of Yugoslavia." Once I better understood the nature of the conflict on the ground I was better able to understand the dynamic nature of the ROEs. Even though they don't talk too much about the air campaign-having a little more understanding of the bigger picture still added needed insight to the commentary of the pilots who were dealing with this throughout the campaign.

Thing about tors is I'm pretty sure they can still shoot down your mavericks- so be mindful of that. Also- sa10s can launch outside of the range of your missile launch warning system... Frankly I'm not sure how to contend with them unless you fly with a su25t equipped for SEAD.
