Bumping. Still no advice from ED and this is now 4 pages back in the thread.
-
I set pixel density to 0.9 but still have the issue. @BIGNEWY. Are there any log files that we could post to help the team. I saw some were posting DxDiag as well.
-
I've seen no response to this and I still have the issue. Tried full repair but no joy. @BIGNEWY. Should I submit a ticket? I fear that you guys might be overwhelmed though.

@BrassEm Thank you for this! I've saved it as a text file in my Template folder. I wish ED would provide the same for all modules. -

*UPDATED* User files updated to include muddy landing gear and handprints. -
Reverb G2 and OpenXR When launching from Skatezilla DCS Updater GUI (which launches the non MT DCS.exe) view is normal. When launching from the MT DCS.exe in the bin-mt folder I get appears to be only one eyepiece and the mask seems to be upside down. However, closing one eye and then the other shows that both eyepieces are active but show the same view. This happens whether using --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR or not. dcs log.txt

I'm confused as to where to place this: --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR If I add it to the Target window of the shortcut like this: "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin-mt\DCS.exe"--force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR when I hit apply it says "Problem with shortcut ... not valid" -

@Art-J. I agree that the original photo looks like it might be camo. So here's that version. I added some more weathering "eye candy" and corrected some copy / paste mistakes in the original weathering. This will be updated into the silver versions. Muddy tail gear and mud spatters Muddy main gear with mud spatters. There's also an Erk's handprint on the nose bay door. Better view of the handprint And one on the other door In flight view of muddy gear Links: Disabled letters - https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3329622/ Letters on - https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3329623/- 162 replies

Seeing the radar nose made me think of the Sea Mossie. Wouldn't it be a blast to try some carrier landings? Probably not realistic to hope for one though. -

@Raptorattacker. I think that you will really enjoy skinning with PBR and Roughmets. Way more control than the alpha in IL2. I hope that IL2 will incorporate PBR in the future. I don't think that you have to have purchased any individual module in order to make a skin for it. The world of lua files is going to be something to get a grip on though... -

Yeah, I did see that it looked like it might be camo and I'll probably do a camo version as well. I didn't take it as ungrateful at all! I also want to do one with "Azure" blue undersides but there seems to be controversy in the scale modelers forums as to what color that actually is. Anyone have some input on that? -

OK, stick a fork in this 'cause I'm callin it done. Special thanks to @Helles Belle and @BusDriver for their research determining that it probably didn't have letter codes. Also to @Raptorattacker for his "Petrol Spill" graphic. I'm pretty pleased with the weathering and think that it looks the part. Rap's fuel spill Remnants of red doped fabric gunport covering. See Beufighter photo below. Eroded paint on prop blades. This is pretty much what most props looked like when an aircraft came in to our shop for a 100hr or Annual inspection. We would file out the nicks and apply "touch-up" paint. (Actually, we rattle canned the most of the blades but the FAA allows only "touch-up". Otherwise, it has to be done by a certified Prop Repair Station. Blueish exhaust staining. I've seen this effect on high powered planes. I's pretty subtle. I enhanced it here for some drama. More fuel spillage. Pilot with white overalls. The only photo I could find of a N0. 27 Squadron Mossie and there are no letter codes. An example of red doped fabric gun port covering. Submitted to DCS User Files. @Helles Belle Thank you so much for your time. I really appreciate it. I got this from @BusDriver over at the IL2 forums: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/83276-raf-mossie-letter-codes/#comment-1259150 For this skin, I'm going to leave the code letters off. I'll probably issue another with Bort letters enabled. The sim community is so great! Always someone willing to assist. Salute! -

I'm almost done with "Popeye" but I'm trying to find plausible letter codes for it. I've looked but there seems to be numerous letter codes for No. 27 Squadron. What about "A" flight? What I've seen is that "A" would be one of the first 13 letters of the alphabet... (or the first third if there were more than 2 flights... not likely for No. 27 in India though) but which one? How would the letters be arranged? Anyone have pics of any Squadron No. 27 in India? Here's the caption for the photo: "Flight_Lieutenant_A_Torrance_of_'A'_Flight,_No._27_Squadron_RAF,_climbs_into_his_de_Havilland_Mosquito_FB_VI_at_Parashuram,_India,_for_a_sortie_over_Burma,_March_1944." -

Thank you! Much appreciated but would this happen to be a colorized version using software? I would think that the Japanese "snake" would have been yellow. The purplish shadow on the pilot's left arm seems strange also. Still, it looks the part but I think I'll go with a different interpretation. -

The two skins above are in preparation for doing this next skin depicting this photo of Flight Lieutenant A. Torrance of Stonehouse, Lanarkshire, Scotland, known as 'Jock'. I have not been able to locate any other pictures of this aircraft so it will have to be a bit of educated guessing and fiction. I only found one photo of a No. 27 Squadron aircraft, s/n: HJ759. If anyone has any other documentation I would be most appreciative! I decided to make the previous skins as fairly fresh. Jock's skin will be much more beat-up as can be seen in the photo. -

Mossie PoUX Cholavarum, India 1945 PoUX in 1945 in Cholavarum close to Madras in India. It wears SEAC two-tone blue markings over an all painted aluminium finish. No. 82 Squadron RAF had Squadron code "UX". The squadron left Bomber Command and relocated to RAF Cholavarum, India in early 1942. The squadron was re-equipped with Mosquitoes in July 1944, but was temporarily grounded due to failures in the wooden structure before commencing ground attack sorties on 19 December. These operations continued until 12 May 1945, when the squadron was withdrawn to India to prepare for the proposed invasion of Malaya. This operation did not occur due to the end of the war, and the squadron was disbanded on 15 March 1946. Problems were found with glue adhesion in the humidity, but it was actually the tropical heat that was the more immediate problem; the Australians did some experiments and found that painting the Mosquito silver reduced the heat inside the wings by a significant amount (appx. by 15 degrees during the daytime). Registration letters are fixed and not selectable. Pilots have white lightweight coveralls. Submitted to User Files. Link: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3329485/ Generic CBI Theatre Silver Dope This is a generic version of silver (aluminum) doped Mossies which served in the China / Burma / India (CBI) theatre. Problems were found with glue adhesion in the humidity, but it was actually the tropical heat that was the more immediate problem; the Australians did some experiments and found that painting the Mosquito silver reduced the heat inside the wings by a significant amount (appx. by 15 degrees during the daytime). That’s why many photos appear to show metal Mosquitos. They were simply wooden wonders that had been painted silver. Registration (Bort) letters are selectable. Pilots have lightweight white cotton coveralls. Submitted to User Files. Link: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3329487/ -

I haven't seen an answer to this. The skin that I'm contemplating does have swastikas as kill markings. I'm not going to make any effort though if they are disallowed and don't want to bastardize what was actually applied. I do understand the restrictions due to several countries laws. I just want clarification. I'm also a bit concerned about Bort numbers and would prefer to make a skin true to the aircraft's particular ID numbers. So, is a one-off skin less likely to be selected? -
Ahh... thanks, I missed that.

I downloaded and installed the latest version 1.9.0.0 but every time I open KBB it says Update Available. Do you wish to download and install the update? When I click Yes, nothing happens. If I click no it says to run it as Administrator but the troubleshooting guide says to not run as Admin. It does allow me to enter the program though. Do I need to uncheck check for updates in Preferences?

II.JG1_Vonrd replied to edmuss's topic in Virtual Reality
Sorry, I'm still confused. Do I just make the shortcut properties as shown? Target: "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS.exe" --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR Start in" "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin" What I currently have is: Target: "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS_updater.exe" (so that it checks for updates every time I start DCS) No need to place --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR in any .cfg or .lua file? And what about using Skatezilla's DCS Updater Utility?- 688 replies
