  1. Hmmn... I had my wing-man do that to me the other day. :megalol: Me: "Wait, are you locking me up?" Buddy: "Fox 3!" :helpsmilie: Please don't make enabling IFF too complicated! It would be nice if, by default, it was just a simple on/off of the IFF mode.
  2. @kiwi & firebird Maybe I’m misreading you, but to make a new command you hit finish and the command you retyped/added ought to be in your clipboard to paste into the voice attack profile. (Program must be in admin mode for this to work) Also. If you delete the Viacom .vap file try reloading it or importing the commands. I found deleting the file will repopulate the file but you still need to load it.
  3. It does not look like the command is installed correctly. All voice attack is recognizing is “Jester” Did you copy the commands to the profile? This command installs similar to the “map market to steerpoint x” and the “Scan sector Angels x for X” If you are still getting the duplicate error when pasting these: Try exporting your voice attack profile and delete the default Viacom .vap profile. The profile should repopulate and you ought to be able to paste in the new commands from it, or you can switch to the default profile and start from scratch.
  4. Radio Tune ### decimal ###
  5. With AIRio in the f14 Are we able to use the Map marker to IP point or Surface target for Auto mode bombing? Or does Rio need to be in IP mode to use a pre determined bomb point?
  6. Chaff Having some difficulty with the AI RIO dropping CM I am not sure if this is a request post, or a "I need help" post, but... I can't figure out how to tell Jester to drop chaff. I've tried all the "chaff/dispense order" commands, but with no good results. Is there a "Drop Chaff"? command, or can there be?
  7. How do I tell if I have an enemy vs friend radar locked on the HUD? Friend and Foe appear as green box. I thought friends in air force aircraft would show up as a green box with an X through it. Is IFF not implemented, or am I missing a step/signal?
  8. Nevermind.... I tried again this evening and everything worked as it should x.x What was happening was I would create mark points, give them SPI, and slave my TGP and Mav to the mark point. It worked fine when I swapped between markpoints in NAV mode, but as soon as I hit the master mode button and swapped to Mav's or GBU's, it would no longer be SPI. So basically, in Nav mode I could cycle Markpoints with no trouble, the TGP and Maverik would move to the next selected mark point, but when I had a weapon selected, it didn't move, even with china hat forward long. (This is even after a couple of restarts) Later this evening, it worked fine. I could change mark points and slave the Mav and TGP to the mark point even when I wasn't in NAV mode. I dont know what is causing the issues. I wonder if there is an issue with the open beta or the missions I am flying. Yesterday, for some dumb reason, when I hit china hat forward long it would cause my right MFD to be SOI... as if I were hitting DMS right. On top of all of that... my damned SAS occasionally decides to automatically flip all the switches back down! Just to keep me on my toes.
  9. Sorry, yet another thread about SPI.... I'm trying to get a better handle on Markpoints. I am able to cycle through them and keep them as SPI when I am in NAV mode (weapons off). So if I am in Nav mode, I can swap between mark points and slave my TGP and MAV cameras to the selected mark point just by hitting DMS up or next steerpoint on the UFC... The problem is that once I switch to a weapon system like a Maverik or GBU, The markpoint no longer retains SPI, so cycling through markpoints no longer slaves the TGP and Mav to where I want them to look. Am I doing something wrong, or do you have to swap to Nav mode between missile launches and bomb drops in order to switch the SPI to the next mark point?
  10. I received my 2nd! reverb (the first one was a brick and did not work at all... had to send it back) My impressions are very much like Gun Jam's Image quality is amazing, and tracking is pretty good. I've read bad things about the LCD screen being not bright enough... and I have no idea what those folks are talking about. I suppose it isn't as vivid as my Vive, but unless I swap back and forth very quickly, I can't tell. SDE = (I can't see SDE) Mura = (I guess? If it's there, it's not noticeable in DCS... at least not noticeable enough to be a distraction...) FOV = Same as the other headsets. Image distortion: I do get some distortion (warping) around the middle. I also think it is related to IPD (which you cannot physically change in the reverb.) I am going to end up adding some padding to the headset to put it a little bit further from my face. I think that will fix most of this problem. I did have a few rare flicks of blackscreen in DCS, but I am unsure if it is the software or hardware. In all, I'm happy with the upgrade from the O.G. Vive (with Samsung gear VR lens mod) A few of my own notes: Going from Vive to Reverb: You need a well lit room... Not a big deal, just an FYI And for anyone that cares about motion controllers. A lot of reviews say they suck... which they 100% do. The motion controllers are terrible. The design is fine, but the tracking is very slow, they lag... and they drift a lot. (and apparently they drain batteries like no tomorrow.) They are not unusable, but they are not fun to use. Anyhow... It's a nice headset overall, but the black screen flickers worry me. I hope the warranty holds its own.
  11. If only there was a way to mod these lenses for the reverb:
  12. So... with a big brick over your eyes, it's hard to take notes on waypoints and to be able to read them right away. The obvious solution is to lift it up and look down at a notepad, but I've been trying to find better solutions. My old (nonVR) method was just to use my iphone and tell it any Lat/Long coordinates I needed. The first idea I had was to try and have the phone read it back to me, but... Sirii rambles on at 100mph, and despite having the CDU at my fingertips, it's nearly impossible to keep up with the speed it reads off notes. Has anyone come up with any clever ways to jot down coordinates without having to lift the HMD off their face?
  13. My reverb finally arrived and it's a flickering brick out of the box. Right eye doesn't turn on and the HMD flickers on and off. I tried reboots, fiddling with cables, a few different USBs including a powered hub, different Display ports... the headset still acted the same, so I'm returning it. I've read the bad reviews about headsets failing, but didn't expect it would be a brick out of the box. Oh well. I'm curious as to how many of these headsets are defective.
  14. That's how the MiG vs F5E feels in game at the moment. Not identical, but close enough for a good dogfight :)
  15. Neat. I'll have to try that setting on the ARU. I don't find the MiG-21 stalls as heavily as it used to. It seems to hang on the edge a little easier than the Viggen, but I think the MiG has a higher thrust to weight and I don't think the engine is as prone to compressor stalls. It seemed the MiG used to drop out of the sky once it reached critical speed, which I sort of expected with the plane barely having wings. But... it is hard for me to judge as I've changed joysticks since then and set a heavy sensitivity curve. It doesn't seem too far off either way. It sits pretty close in performance to the F5E and Viggen, with some slightly different strengths and weaknesses when it comes to climb and turn. M3 LLC has made a few updates since taking over, and from some of their forum posts it sounds like they are still working on still planning future updates.
  16. How do you duplicate a command? I want to make it so that I can say "conenct ground air supply" "I want to connect ground air" "My mom told me I have to connect the ground air" ect.... ? I tried to duplicate the commands, but that does not work.
  17. WARNING: I'm bad at all of this. HOW... do I edit Vaicom/add Voice Attack commands? I have tried to use the "duplicate" button on Viacom commands and add a new syntax (command), but this doesn't seem to work. Vaicom seems very specific on /"ground power on"/ However... I would prefer to have multiple requests like: "Chief, turn on the ground power", "turn on ground power", "Turn electricy powery thingy on", ect..." How can I add voice commands?
  18. It helps to set a sensitivity curve. I have a pretty steep curve on my end, and she flies pretty nice once trimmed out.
  19. Thanks didn’t see that lever
  20. Does anyone have a reliable method to taxi. I have trouble turning on the ground and often find the front wheel locks in the forward position and refuses to turn despite brake and rudder input.
  21. Buy and enjoy the MiG 19 as it will both give you a taste and help support the development of the 23 :)
  22. I am upset. I do not want this plane, never really had an interest in it, but I will have to buy it and fly it when it comes out, because it looks too damn awesome not to. Damn you RAZBAM!
  23. If they plug in and work in control manager, I don't see why not. If they are old enough to still have the pins you might need to buy a USB adapter. Flaming Cliffs 3 is a good package to get. The modules are somewhat simplified and do not have clickable cockpits, but you get a good mix of ground attack planes and fighter aircraft. Not a bad package to buy to get your feet wet with. As far as full fledged modules: The A-10C is one of the best modules out there as it is feature complete and it has good tutorials. The Viggen is also a gem of a plane with a working ground radar and an old 60's analog computer to poke at, but in the long run, the F18 will be one of the most well rounded aircraft out there, and is already enjoyable to fly and fight in.
  24. Stay fast, wait for openings, and use hit and run tactics. You can kind of turn with a F5, at least in climbing turns, but I don’t recommend it. Keep your speed.
