Enabling FSR causes a similar behaviour for me: DCS crashes 1-2 seconds into the main menu, and I haven't found any solution, sadly. I cleaned and repaired my install, reinstalled all OXR-related software. No luck, sadly.

Ciao, sì. I'll answer in english - otherwise, if you prefer and if you need more details, feel free to PM me. An OLED display is simply marvelous and one can't praise it enough. To answer your questions: there is no DisplayPort, only HDMI 2.1 (at least for the model I specified, LG C1, which has a 120Hz panel with FreeSync VRR support and G-SYNC compatibility). Regarding distance - with its size and pixel density in mind, I have been playing with it installed 50 cm in front of me. It takes some time to adjust to it. With this distance, a 90° FOV results in objects appearing at more or less their real-life size (which is vital, in my experience). I haven't had any issues with eye fatigue, but of course YMMV.

Ciao, io sarei interessato al solo grip T-50CM2 perché per tutto il resto sono già fornito... presumo tu non abbia gran desiderio di venderlo a parte, ma in caso tienimi in considerazione
-
No problem - I'm just jealous!
-
@VirusAM I was still standing in line for the T-50 grip but I see it's not in the post anymore. I'm sorry to be calling you out and I sincerely mean no disrespect, but it's been over a month since you published your post. It would have been simpler if you specified that your items were not immediately available. That said, best of luck to you.

VR Shaders mod for better VR experience

No more ATOC and terrain shadows multisampling? -
Already joined, I can't really contribute productively but I love experiments. Will test asap.

Also: a step-by-step guide please, if possibile, so that we're sharing the same process and settings.

Sounds fantastic... forgive the ignorance, but what does it do? And how to apply it?
-
At those prices, absolutely neither (pura follia!)... Instead, I strongly suggest an OLED display, precisely the splendind LG OLED48C1, whichever version available. They periodically (in Italy) get discounted with prices that go lower than 1000 Euros (best offer is 899 Euros at the time of writing). And there is nothing better than an OLED display. Thank me later. Ciao!

Flight Simulation Chair/cockpit setup
Picchio replied to Oddball52's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I opted for a used car seat - I also researched through the seemingly endless offer of racing seats and rigs, but I came to the conclusion that they all are uselessly expensive. -

Guys, I'd like to ask for your input. For those who pre-ordered via website: my order was placed the first week of July 2021, how long do you think it's going to take before it's ready, based on your own order date/delivery?- 3421 replies

AMD 6900xt tuning and settings for VR in dcs. My optimal recipe.
Picchio replied to TED's topic in Virtual Reality
Thank you for your response. Well, yes... I was monitoring the performance through fpsVR and I clearly noticed the "judder" as the result of the increased frametimes induced by the driver (Chill) locking the maximum framerate... I just wanted to understand if you managed to lock it in a way that didn't have this side-effect. I'm asking because with the Index you're able to throttle the framerate with a fixed value that doesn't have the issue above and I wondered if you had found a way to get a similar result without resorting to forced motion smoothing - and that really is a fantastic feature, if you ask me! Well... I'm happy with what I have Thank you anyway! -
AMD 6900xt tuning and settings for VR in dcs. My optimal recipe.

Hi, I've been reading through both this thread and the one created @nikoel for suggestions and comparisons. I wanted to comment on one of your suggestions: by capping the framerate through the Radeon Software I assume you used the Chill option and set your min/max framerate to 45. While it does effectively work in limiting the framerate, in my system this option also has the detrimental effect of producing very high (20-ish) frametime values. For comparison, with Chill set to off, my framerate is free to fluctuate between 40 and 90 fps but my frametime values are very low (5-16 ms, using the same settings as @nikoel). So you might want to check your frametime values as well, perhaps I'm missing something else. As far as I know, we're unable to lock the G2's framerate at 45 fps without activating motion smoothing... meaning that we're forced to deal with its artifacts. Am I correct? -
Or, try using an OLED display with the right size and positioning (a 48" display results in an outstanding experience, as far as I'm concerned: for flight simulations, I have positioned it 50 cm in front of me, with an in-game FOV set to 90°). I have also used an Index for an abuntant number of hours... what I would say is that no one can tell you what's right for you: you see the quantity and quality of divergent opinions on the subject... Trust your own experience.

Pedals and Throttle are still for sale!
-
Send a PM with your ZIP code and address, I'll see what the options are.

Still for sale, and still open to offers!

Thank you for the response. It's no big issue and it doesn't compromise readability. But since it's such a nice effect, I hope it will be fixed at some point.
-
Replying to myself: the issue is still vividly present and makes dawn and dusk gameplay quite a bit alienating.
-
Hi all, I'm encountering this strange issue (VR, Index): the cockpit is correctly eflected by some of the instruments' glass cover. It would seem that these reflections also mirror shadows cast onto the cockpit itself (I don't know how else to interpret them as they also move according to the sun's position). However, these mirrored shadows do present some very pronounced aliasing - it's easy to see quite big blocks, together with mapping artefacts or significant semplifications (shadows sometime appear striped). Of course I know this cool effect could be too intensive to have it at a higher quality, but I'm wondering if it's considered final and if there is a way to deactivate it. Sorry for the lack of better screenshots, but it's extremely hard to photograph it with a simple phone camera.
