Picchio replied to Johnny_Rico's topic in Multiplayer
Need some help here... can't get my head around this error I keep getting. Any advice? The Interesting Missions Generator
Picchio replied to emolina's topic in User Created Missions General
A quick heads-up. I tested missions 1 and 5 for the Fishbed, and performance-wise they are totally unplayable, even with a rig which is not modest at all. I see I'm not the only one experiencing similar issues. Suggestions? -
Although I know it might belong to the For Sale thread, I'm posting here because I feel it's specific enough to be of interest in the Fishbed's special corner. So, here it is: I'm selling a printed copy of the English flight manual, as it is in the known document titled MiG-21Bis Pilot's Flight Operating Instructions. It is the first of the copies I've printed, which I'll briefly describe. The paper was chosen separately by me from A3 Canson paper sheets, fine grain with a very nice white point, close to ivory, 90 g/m2 and uncoated. The cover is from 300 g/m2 medium grain, white, uncoated paper. PUR binding, strong and reliable. Size is 15x21 cm. The cover itself hasn't been placed too gracefully, and it's tilted very slightly so that the bottom-right angle at the back shows the "book" behind it (2/3 mm at the extreme, so nothing tragic really). With the paper I chose, professional laser printing and binding and with a discount because of the defect, I paid EUR 25, so I'm open to sensible offers. Here are some pictures for now (but I'll provide better ones on request, in case of someone's interested in more details, print quality, which came out excellent, paper white point, etc.).

Thank you very much, Rudel. I highly and sincerely admire the care that has been poured into this aircraft by you fellas. (And I think I understand the pain of reworking so many things over and over after core updates... ) Thanks, twice!
-
Probably already detected and included in the fix you made, Rudel, but ARK channel selector buttons disappear when depressed.
-
Sorry for posting in this oldish thread, but is anyone aware of a female Russian ATC mod? I could swear I heard that in a MiG-21Bis video somewhere, but I can't find it... thanks! Here's the video: ${1}

Cockpit tour mission becomes stuck at the description of True and Mach speed gauge... OB here, latest version. Is someone else encountering this issue?
-
Bunyap, there isn't enough praise for this campaign you've created. Even if I keep getting my ass kicked one way or another, I am enjoying it immensely, even when reflying the same mission many times. Quick question, do you have plans for more, in Normandy? Perhaps something for the Kurfürst?

The Interesting Missions Generator
Picchio replied to emolina's topic in User Created Missions General
Hopping into the thread to say that I'd also love to see Normandy included, and to interestingly explore it with the Spitfire... -
I'm not investigating the cause as I don't have the necessary knowledge, but while the terrain color looks kinda okay (you can take a look at how it appears in Google Maps, at least when they scanned it), trees are especially weird: I wrote this in another thread as well, trees receive and reflect light in a very strange way, which also makes their trunks turn green. I took a look at the base tree textures, and tree trunks defenitely look like they're made of wood. My best guess is that something's up with the shading tech. I made a couple of tests modifying the parameters specific for Normandy (the .lua file contained in Mods\Terrain\Normandy\shadingOptions) using the ones identical to 2.5 Caucasus, but couldn't spot any difference in the result. I'll look more into it. I can suspect that the future implementation of SpeedTree will probably get around this.

As per title. All devices are USB; everything is in impeccable working order. No mods. EUR 175, shipping included. EU zone only. If you're somewhere else, we'll discuss shipping separately. If you're interested, please PM me!
-
Quick question and I'm not sure it's a bug (perhaps a side-effect of Deferred Shading): some tree trunks are colored in green, while others look correct. Has anyone observed something similar?

Epsom/Charnwood and DCS: World 2.2
Picchio replied to Bunyap's topic in Spitfire LF Mk. IX Operation Epsom Campaign
Bunyap, I finally started Mission 1 last night and man I am enjoying it! I had forgotten the enchantment of beautifully orchestrated scripted missions, like these that you've designed... and this Spitfire, my God... One little wish I would express: how about allowing the player into a position different than the leader's? The only (only!) thing I miss is the thrill of flying formation... Again, thanks for your work. -
Epsom/Charnwood and DCS: World 2.2
Picchio replied to Bunyap's topic in Spitfire LF Mk. IX Operation Epsom Campaign
Bunyap, sorry for the slightly off-topic question, but the first screenshot tickled my curiosity... are those the new clouds? Are they present in 2.2? Thanks for your passionate work. I bought your campaign a couple of months ago and I still haven't found the time to sink my teeth into it, but I'm looking forward to. -
Friends, has anyone succeeded in using the mod with Normandy 2.1.1? If yes, how?
-
Dear fellows, as per title I've got an Asus Z170-PRO (rev. 1.03, Intel Socket 1151) motherboard for sale. I tested and used it for about a month, everything works perfectly and it's in impeccable conditions (no signs of wear, etc.). Bought in April 2016, under warranty. If you're interested in building/renewing an ATX system this could be a good option :) I'm looking for EUR 120 + shipping. Open to offers. EU preferably, but I'm open to discussion. Details here: http://www.asus.com/...specifications/ I'll be more than happy to provide pictures, on request. For any questions, please don't hesitate to ask :)
-
Nah. It's subjective. For me, it was the lack of (personally, again) appropriate and interesting content. From experience, I can say that those kind of campaigns interest me a lot :) Anyway, Sabre has indeed confirmed that it's planned. Still, I renew my invitation to those with first-hand knowledge to get involved with his team
-
Someone with solid knowledge about Soviet "methods" should definitely contact Sabre (Sabre-TLA in the forums aka the guy behind MapleFlagMissions for those who don't know) and see what can be done.
-
A simple question for those who still fly the MiG-21, and for those who don't, but would like to: would you be interested in having MapleFlag's Flight Qualifications missions (BFT, AAT etc.) made for our beloved MiG-21? As far as I know, they would be making them if there was a real interest from the community. Personally, I liked immensely what they did for the A-10C; but I didn't particularly love the bird. In a way, I enjoyed the process of learning/practicing more than the aircraft itself. But those missions, if made for the MiG-21 (that I like a lot more), could really be a worthy addition, and perhaps they could bring the experience closer to the soul of the aircraft, especially considering the "so-so" stock training missions. What do you guys think?
-
Dear Sabre! Any news for the BFT campaign for our precious MiG-21?

Thanks, replied :)
