Many solid geometries (parts of the cockpit's structure) are casting shadows that appear glitched: specifically, shadows are only cast by the object's border, as if it wasn't solid. Easily observable on the front windshield's frame and on both sides of the cockpit walls.

Good morning all, I'm selling the final piece of my beloved CH set, the Throttle Quadrant. It's clean and in impeccable working order. As a bonus to the additional knobs (one black, one red), I will include two black lever clips. I'd ask for EUR 60 plus shipping. As always, I'm open to sensible offers. I'd prefer to sell and ship within the EU. :santa:

Open Beta November 21 - Downloading terrain
Picchio replied to Picchio's topic in Installation Problems
Thank you for your helpfulness. PG wasn't listed anywhere in the Module Manager but I traced it in the autoupdate configuration file, removed it from the list of my modules and voilà, problem solved. Updating normally now! :) -
Open Beta November 21 - Downloading terrain
Picchio replied to Picchio's topic in Installation Problems
I checked the download folder ;) Also, I only have Normandy, the Spitfire and the MiG-21 installed, and these modules aren't listed as updated (although there are reports of some things being fixed). Still, those 16 Gigabytes are suspect to me, in coincidence with the PG files I see. -
With today's update, my updater wants to download way too many Gigabytes (around 16?) that are for the Persian Gulf - which I uninstalled (had it during the free weekend). I don't need that terrain update (but I want my installed modules to be updated, of course), and my bandwidth is limited. What can I do?

Real time weather (METAR) on your server missions HOW TO
Picchio replied to Johnny_Rico's topic in Multiplayer
I'd say it's caused by one (?) of the recent updates; I didn't have this issue before, but now I also cannot open any mission edited with this mod. Shame because there's nothing like it for Normandy  -

More nocturnal landings. Normandy is becoming merciless: only two planes in my flight of four survived the mission. AAA emplacements have been reinforced. While their aim is deadly during the day, as soon as the sun goes down their positions become quiet. But the tinting of my glass makes aiming at ground targets almost impossible. I'm not sure I hit anything this time. And something more picturesque: -
Hi, I've got the same exact issue; I can't wrap my head around it, have you investigated?

Seventh mission, no contacts: I imagine everyone was staying inside with a warm cup of tea. This has been the most stressful landing I've ever attempted. I admit I had to cheat and use the outside view for a moment during the final approach because the entire landscape was nearly black. And these Yanks haven't thought of illuminating the airstrip, for now. But God, was it satisfying... Texac, why are your Harrier's lights illuminating the rain, while mine aren't? Awesome screenshots, these you've posted! -

Sixth mission. Weather cleared up during the evening: we hit the battery at Cabourg, and managed to destroy four guns. One of them gave me some troubles. I almost landed... I found out that my right wheel had been busted together with my right aileron, as well as my right flap. The moment I lowered them, that was scary. Tried a flaps-up approach, made a smooth go-around, but upon touchdown I lost control quite easily. I disappointed the two Yanks. -

Fifth mission. Lovely weather: these Yanks are obviously expressing astonishment and admiration for my beautiful landing. We also cleared the AAA battery in Lisieux: five guns destroyed. -
I'm echoing what has been already said, but I'd like to report my experience regarding AI behaviour when employing bombs; the issue with AI climbing to high altitude is only present when the target is AAA. When the target is something else (and that's the case with the "engage primary and rejoin" command), AI attacks through "normal" maneuvers.

My fourth, as well as my fifth armed recce. During the former, I survived a scary AAA hit, and finally managed to silence the battery at Falais. Our patrol route should be a bit quieter now. But I landed on my nose. During the latter, on our way from Falais to Lisieux, we were ambushed by two 109s. Nobody saw them coming; I noticed the first one only when he was lining up his shot. I did manage to evade and eventually got behind him; during the pursuit, his wingman gave my tail section a very ugly treatment. Left elevator, gone. Vertical stabilizer, gone. No. 4 got the leader I was after, while No. 3 saved my life. I lost my wingman; the rest of us returned to base safely. I crash-landed. Here's the first ejection in my log book. -
I'm not sure. I tried to build the .miz package from the files contained in \DAWS_TempMix, but the few units (88 mm AAA guns) that were destroyed during the mission were not recorded. The only mods I've got are textures and sounds, nothing involving MissionScripting.lua in any case, or folders that conflict with DAWS. The mission is this one: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3096046/
-
I am 99.999% sure that I have all the permissions in check. So, I tested again. MissionScripting.lua is effectively read, over-written, and re-written back in place, I verified so as I launched DAWS. All options in-menu seem to be working as expected, but I don't have any sort of confirmation after seeing "DAWS is saving the mission..." in the GUI. As I mentioned earlier, inside Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Missions\Temp\DAWS_TempMix I do get the unpacked mission structure... Any idea? Thank you for the assistance!
-
Hi, I seem to be encountering an issue: DAWS does create a few files and folders in C:\Users\XXX\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Missions\Temp, but not the .miz file itself (which I imagine should result as these files/folders being packaged together). I investigated, and MissionScripting.lua is freely accessed and edited by DAWS, but I see no modification being made. Am I correct to assume that the edits it should make are adding "--" in front of sanitizeModule('io') and sanitizeModule('lfs')?

Horrido! - The defenders of Caen
Picchio replied to Reflected's topic in User Created Missions General
Hi Reflected, just wished to ask if you've got any plan for some Dora missions, with the same style as these you made! Great work by the way, and thank you! -
I'm with you guys on this one. I remember investigating about Mapleflag's future plans with no luck, maybe a year ago... personally I'd love, love, love a good, in-depth training campaign, along with an updated DCE campaign.

The Interesting Missions Generator
Picchio replied to emolina's topic in User Created Missions General
A quick heads-up. I tested missions 1 and 5 for the Fishbed, and performance-wise they are totally unplayable, even with a rig which is not modest at all. I see I'm not the only one experiencing similar issues. Suggestions?
