  1. I own a civil NVG that enhances the lights (so it uses the moon and stars and residu light from cities.) when that doesn't give me enough vision it has an InfraRed light on top of it. Turn it on and it looks like youre using a really strong maglite (150meters effective range.) The light is not visible for the naked eye only my NVG can see that. So the rockets the pilots use are probably InfraRed (IR) so they have more vision with their goggles or with the TGP.
  2. try and find the post by magician peter P by search keywords: "all exports on" or "how to viewport"
  3. Swift thats a cool pic! is that guy flying left handed or is he using alt/heading hold?
  4. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=89211 2nd post from bottom are some dimensions and closeups of a real T handle.
  5. the handle is gone (traded for some awesome stuff!!!) , the other one is for me :) closed.
  6. Hi guys thanks for the inspiration. I attached some cheap metal parts to connect the tensioner straps to the risers (riser strap tensioner roller or something?) . In the future I will try to replicate the rollers or buy real ones. I made some progress on the left side of the parachute container. I stapled some black canvas to the side and worked with some aluminium with rivets made for leather. Also found out that using a drill really helps with making holes much faster :music_whistling: Some magnet strips are holding the handles in place. In some time I will try to replicate some hinges. I will install the risers on the front edge of the container where they should be. Then I'll make some green cords to connect the risers to the metal parts that are connected to the tensioner inside the seat. But I had to post the temporary setup!!! Yesterday my early weekend started so I had a couple of beers and was cleaning my harness with ballistol. I strapped myself in for the first time and then found out that one fitting got stuck. I thought they are UWARS so I thought about urinating over myself to open the releases but fortunately after a good laugh about the idea I got out and with some extra ballistol they now work fine! :D
  7. Great quility work Linden, i'll PM you with my order!!! thanks for offering this to the community.
  8. update: I bought an original seatback cushion with some honeywell switches and a resin arming handle from a guy at VP. I followed his blog and found out he was selling his items. I also recently found an old harness with risers It's all complete and the fittings work. I am going to clean all parts with some ballistol gun cleaner. I think it looks a lot like a PCU-15 with uwars fittings. The inertia reel is an old seatbelt roller with some nylon straps. I installed it in the fake seat container (hard to reach for screws so just 2 big screws and a lot of bison kit. The risers will be placed properly and connected to the seatbelt roller to get a nice tensioning effect. I made some canopy breaker lookalikes from 1.0 mm aluminium. I will soon finish the parachute container and fix the small parts like the handles.
  9. my cat likes to be in my pit. I had a night off and opened a big can of beer and my cat tipped it over after I took about 2 sips. All the beer doing it's liquid dance right next to my warthog throttles! In a nice act of panic I unplugged it and recovered it from my side panel. it's still good :)
  10. haha this is one insane chopper pit! the view looks good. what do you need to implement to "finally fininish" it?
  11. Haha that's a good one. I like the complete crazy ones in between as a funny surprise (taking on 30 shilkas/ random explosions/landing on another plane) :D
  12. Iraq would be totally cool! after reading the book "flying the A-10 in the gulf war" it would be awesome to recreate some missions to play online. for an idea:It would be awesome to visit the "home depot" after a mission with some unexpended ordnance :)
  13. thanks for all the info guys! I'll print them out. Yesterday I got my RWR working in my pit so now I finally know where the SAM's are and what they are up too :) Also helps to know what type it is for countermeasures and your info is a great addition.
  14. make a night mission, then you have really nice secondaries. (fireworks) :) edit: ontopic I usually do 1/2 MK84's. And I have a question: are the heavy warhead mavericks made for bunkers?
  15. I am very interested in a set from a new round Deadman. This time I put some money on the side for surprise opportunities to buy cool stuff. :D
  16. that is awesome. good work and thanks for sharing!
  17. A little update overhere. I made the oxygen bottle, the mount and all the other handles. The ejection handles are made from mdf wood and aluminum with a polymer filler. thanks to Deadman's decals they came out pretty nice. In the future I will make some more accurate handles. I'm also in the process of buying a house and I have a spare room that will become the simroom  I will post some pictures of the seat building progress in a while. the pics are the dry setup. I will make the mount for the emergency parachute release handle and something to complete the oxygen bottle and some more.
  18. Haha guys that is the coolest thing to do! I saw a show "Freddie Flintoff versus the world". He did some dogfighting versus Dennis Rodman. Fun to watch. I wish you and Linebacker a good time. Be safe and go crazy!
  19. I'm using the basic pro flight rudder pedals with my heels on the floor. :P I will get the combat pedals when I'm finishing the pit (in about 1,5 years from now :P )
  20. Thanks for the info on the handles dropship. Ill show you what I'll come up with in some weeks when I have time to build. PeterP, is a Basshaker better than tactile feedback (something like TFS3) in the seat cushions? I'm a little bit scared to get a buttkicker. This because my aces II "copy" is made of MDF woodglue and just a couple of screws. Will it tear the structure apart if I have a buttkicker below the 0.5 mm aluminum seatpan.? anyways i'm looking forward to your progress dropship!
  21. That is one killer of a seat! I wonder how you made the ejection handles, I'm still trying to make a set that doesn't look like it was ran over by a truck :D
  22. Hi guys I was wondering if it's worth to get TrackIR. I use a second monitor for my MFD's and all the gauges. I use a 720P projector for the outside fiew with the HUD. The question for pit builders is: is it a realistic add on to have? (this because my head moves and my projector screen is still in the same position). I was thinking about disabling track IR all the time and pressing a button when I want to look around. I also found trackIR3 for €10,- on the internet is it worth buying or should I get a generation 5?
  23. I'm interested in your AHCP. could be easily shipped to the Netherlands I guess.
  24. that's great info! thanks a lot. now the decals make sense. Ill make the handles first and trim the decals.
  25. Hi DM. thx for the info on the black box. The decals are relatively easy to place them correctly. One thing that I´m still not sure of are the handle decals for the ejection handles. do the high and less wide decals go all around the handles :book: because they look too high to be on a normal sized handle. Im also looking for some correct dimensions on the handles. I found some sizes for F15 handles. The A10 handles are about 1 inch higher I think.
