Yep. I believe the SU-25T is an AFM craft as well. If you want to know, I think a good way to figure it out is watch a plane's taxi process. Is it really using the suspension? If so, AFM.

What's the general consensus on Throttle detent?
AegisFX replied to AegisFX's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I agree about it not beign an exact detent. I find with throttle tension up and the curve set, I can get 100% rpm in the f-15 RIGHT at the start of the detent. but it's such a soft detent that I easily find my way into AB if I'm off a little. I'll be honest.. I was hoping the X-55 had nicely done detents. It doesn't seem like it does though. :( -
What's the general consensus on Throttle detent?
AegisFX replied to AegisFX's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I am unsure of where the detent is for the standard X-52. However, on the Pro model, there are 2 detents. According to the scale on the throttle, they are at the 10% and 75% marks. In FC3 craft that's decent AB and engine on/off areas, respectively.. I've read threads where users may voice complaints at not having a smooth throttle axis, actively tried to remove the detent, or simply don't want a detent in their next purchase. I'm sort of asking a "why do you not like detents", as well as a "But I find it so useful" -
I like the idea of the detent, and with the ability to set curves in DCSW I enjoy knowing the limit of dry thrust. However, I sometime see fellow forum goers comment on getting riid of their detent, or preferring a unit without a detent when shopping. I'm interested in gathering opinions. I use the X-52Pro, and other than the detent being too...soft, i love it! I think i want to make the idle area function to turn the engines off though.

Advanced Flight Model.

For me, it seems like if the target cuts off his burner, I immediately lose the EOS unless they were close enough for a normal lock. The AB really does seem to stand out that much, I think.

Fly around 24k alt. Alternate between radar on and off while scanning at various levels. Manually move the radar up and down. Fly around 88-100% throttle and don't use AB( it shows up at longer ranges on EOS) If you are on the 77th, start your flight from base to regroup on the coast and every so often, begin an orbit with radar on to scan the horizon, particularly toward the mountain region. Finish the loop, radar off, and continue on to the coastal region. Do NOT chase an enemy. Just watch them in TWS if they run away. You'll beat the EOS with vigilance. Monitor the radar when it's on. Monitor your surroundings with your cockpit view. Trackir, mouse, whatever you need to move your view to your window.

1st: I am unsure of where this specific issue goes. I believe I should place it here, if mods/admins see fit, move it to the place it needs to be. Okay, the actual error: I bring my damaged F-15C/plane* back to my airfield, crash land (am unable to work landing gear. control surfaces reduced functionality from combat). This part seems to go just fine. I skid on the runway/taxiway, turn my engines off, and am able to call for repair. From the moment of impact until the end, I hear the sounds from scraping my aircraft. These sounds, for reference, are sort of like something peeling off.( to me) Once repairs are underway, it appears to fix the plane. For a split second, the HUD, TEWS, and weapon status, screens come on, the appropriate warning lights go off. However, the screens immediately go out again. This continues indefinitely unless I start my engines and cancel the repairs. It seems the problem is that the plane is not actually lifted out of the ground when it repaired. The control surfaces are repaired, but the plane still sits on its belly without gears. After I eject, the nosecone is still damaged as well. This has happened to me twice, and to a friend once. We were both in F-15's. It happened to us once at Vaziani airfield, and just now moments ago at Anapa airfield.

Hmm..maybe if this project moves ahead we can see f18 sticks for the x55 platform?

Pardon me if I've missed it, or it's been discussed, but i haven't seen any discussion on the use of current harbors or ports as rearming areas for ships. As a simulation of the region, perhaps naval bases have no role yet, but for the next map with a coast, even if it is not a base, harbors or basic piers should be dockable for ships of various sizes. Likewise, can rivers be addressed to allow smal vessels to navigate them?

Will we ever be able to assign several players to the same group online?
AegisFX replied to AegisFX's topic in DCS Wishlist
Yes, on the TAD, but your flight plan is still your single unit's. AWACS, ATC, and any other units will still refer to you as separate flights. Do you understand what's being asked? -
Eh..give us the tugs so we aren't floating around when we get towed. I think the rest can be minimal.
-
I hope you're imagining a process or something to clear off whatever scraps stay on the runway! I'm embarrassed by how many times I've tried taking off after someone either wrecks out or crash-lands and run over a flap, wing, tail, or nose cone that makes me just lose my wheels at 200 kts. If emergency landing is modeled I hope towing and runway cleanup is modeled as well.

Will we ever be able to assign several players to the same group online?
AegisFX replied to AegisFX's topic in DCS Wishlist
Thank you. I was aware that issues with AI units were why players could never have an AI flight leader. I assumed that may have been a factor for the online component but wasn't sure. I honestly thought someone already asked at some prior time. It looks likeI was wrong. As such, I'm happy i was able to bring it up! -
I'm looking at the x-55, but I'm extremely skeptical. I definitely do not want the Warthog. Not that it's bad, but way over budget..at the moment. I could go on with Logitech, Saitek, etc. Long story short, here's what I'm looking for, and where I think it puts me: I need: precision Enough buttons on the stick to decently mimic/simulate the f-15/16/18 sticks without much need for programming dual throttle (I may not need it, as I've done the A-10C and FC3 planes fine with one large throttle, but would prefer more precise throttle management in terms of separate axes.) Where I think this sets me: Right now, I'm considering the CH Fighterstick. I know it isn't new or flashy, but it seems like the few modern reviews on Amazon speak praise. Other than the lack* of a 2-stage trigger, it appears to have the buttons, and even the layout, I desire. This of course leaves me wondering and researching an option for a dual throttle unit! The hold up is in finding one that's a stand alone unit, CH Pro Throttle not included, since it is single axis. *my 52 pro actually got stuck a LOT in Arma and DCS A-10C, but hasn't gotten stuck in 2nd stage in a while. It was easy to undo by clicking it again to stage 1, but annoying and costly in terms of ammo/time* Do any of you have any experience here? I'm especially interested in hearing your solutions if you ended up buying separate throttle and sticks. My budget is around 300 USD, with intent to replace stick before I replace the 52pro throttle
-
To the people that have the x-55 now: Are the bases the same sizes as the x-52pro?I want it more and more, but am a bit worried about trying to mount it where my old HOTAS is.

I use Audio-Technica ATH-M50's. I like em.

Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals Question.
AegisFX replied to Harmer's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have these pedals. I think you're asking what I bind the toe action to. I use the toe axis for the wheel brakes. -
FC3 WHY cant I fire f-15 missiles???
AegisFX replied to HornetUK's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
In the f-15, there is a separate fire button for cannons and missiles. Go to your controls and scroll down to "weapon release". -
I wholeheartedly support this notion.

I actually must agree with 112th Rossi on this. I fly with my group, and we do well. There may be "desync" at times, if that is what it's called when you spectate a teammate and their craft begins bouncing a bit on your screen etc. I think any issues I've had as host is due to mission and bandwidth issues(lots of AI units, lots of clients). I tried hosting a session with 15 of us. That didn't work too well, but it was honest lag between my teammates that dissipated as members left the session.

Some time ago I was looking for a group or individual to fly with in MP. I found the flight-sim-fanatics. They are a pretty decent group and I do not regret my decision. I've enjoyed my time with them very muc and have had the chance to have amazing sessions. But I also remember being the new player looking at the MP lobby, and seeing a bunch of locked servers. I understand the reasons we all have to keep our sessions private, believe me, I really do. I think we as a community could certainly do with a handful more of the "pub" servers running, even if you only spare the public an hour of your flight time. I've been trying to balance between time flying privately with the FSF team and hosting my own open servers for others to randomly hop in and have fun. This brings me to the main thing I'd like to discuss. What missions do you, the forum-going crowd enjoy playing, and wish there were more of? Of course, I only own the A-10C, so a ka-50 mission would be a no-go on my part( I wanna play too), but I'd be happy to have the community's input on missions people would love to hop into and help out, get live practice in, etc. So far I myself have preferred hosting operation pilot search, but I'm sure there are other missions with the same if not more quality.
