  1. Where's the signup sheet?
  2. Decided to go full scale. Working overtime to fund outfighting the workshop. Affordable industrial quality machines are coming out in the middle of this year, so waiting for those. A lot of work being done behind the scenes, cad models, graphic design, packaging, electronics...
  3. Worst. Tease. Ever. :) Can't wait to see it all assembled.
  4. A calm before the storm. A very, very big storm.
  5. YES!! I will take it in kit form, not painted, not sanded, no electronics. And no thottle grip if you can't make one. I can sand, rivet paint and assemble myself. I'll start on the electronics for it and I'll alpha test the hell out of it. And when my 3d printer arrives I can make plastic parts for it, cheap and fast. What is the throttle grip made of, rubber or hard plastic? EDIT: Oh and when I start cranking out all the other stuff for the P-51 you'll be the first one to get it! Come on, I'm real desperate here :)
  6. I wouldn't be so sure about that :music_whistling: But yeah, I vote warthog.
  7. Stop the madness!! What resolution are you running? Is it 1080p single monitor?
  8. Show us some assembly !! And don't say there's not enough parts, I know you're playing with them :)
  9. Haha you're welcome! The secret bunker facility is located about 200 clicks from the border, int the area known as house 18. Some background check and security clearances might be required though :)
  10. Regarding 3d printing technology, sorry, you'll have to start googling becuse there's just too much for me to start posting about it and the machines I'm looking at are not out yet so I'm not at liberty to discuss the technology itself. I'm actually outfitting my entire workshop so there will be a laser cutter, cnc machine, pipe bender, sheet bender etc. Not all at once so it might take to the end of the year but, sooner or later I'll be able to build anything simpit related in-house, which is the only way to have things at affordable prices. Eurofighter controls are in the works too.
  11. Ok best bad news ever. There I was, ready to pull the trigger on a hobby 3d printer and accessories I would need. But I thought, let's give it a month, just in case. And what do you know, everything spun up 180 degrees in those 30 days. Here is the dilemma: A hobby machine, only good for prototypes, it would probably take 2 days to print a whole grip, surface treatment needed after the print. Best ones are made in US so after taxes it would run me about 4k$. Now, there have been several pro type machines, with completely different technology announced, the kind I was planning on engineering myself, and the kind I've been waiting on for the past 7 years when I first came in contact with the technology, but the price was in hundreds of thousands. The one that would best fit my needs is even made in EU so there would be no taxes involved ( which accounts for about 40% of the budget for the hobby machine). The only draw back, it would be another 3-4 month wait. But that would be a machine that would allow me to go right to production, no print failure rates, no model limitations, no extra surface treatment. Perfect, ready to use hardware. And in quantities of a few dozen per day. Price tag, 5k$, so just a bit more then the hobby machine. So I'm pretty certain I'm going the pro machine route. In the mean time I'll get back to finishing my models. Sorry for the last minute change, but it'll be worth it in the end.
  12. If you want a look-alike, you can draw one by hand using online pictures. If you want a 3d cad model, it's going to be way more than 400$...
  13. This goes along with my grip project. Starting February 2014, you can expect to see prototypes.
  14. After 15 pages of boring writing, I would like my next updates to be pictures of actual prototypes. February 2014 I think will be a very interesting month :)
  15. You must be planning an invasion of some sort :) Take your pick : But this actually depends on DCS, whatever they make, I want to fly it. With real look alike or replica controls.
  16. Best case scenario was I start by the end of this year. That's not looking likely due to life getting in the way :) I have a scheduled payout in January 2014 from my business venture so it looks like I'll be buying my equipment early next year. In the meantime I'm buying up and gathering plans and drawings, especially on WWII stuff, and working on completing the 3d models. Also talking to some of the other builders, in an effort to combine our efforts into one awesome and affordable product. So there probably won't be much news until early next year...
  17. That's more like it. Some competition, now we're bound to see improvement after improvement.
  18. Yeah valid points. Although I think disappointment would never be an option. Even if it has a million problems. Coming from a single 1080p monitor to a full 3d AR/VR with 6dof is a game changer for sure. Even if you can't actually play the game on it, the flying experience alone is enough to blow your mind. According to the few oculus reviews I've seen. Now if only developers find time and resources to make it compatible with their products...
  19. There was a thread some time ago, where somebody posted a picture of field improvised vent covers for the tanks. Apparently hot pieces of led would fall down the vents and ignite the filters or something like that. To a 20 something pilot shooting at a tank, it might seem like the ricocheting worked.
  20. Did you guys even check it out?? :D It has a clip on, that makes the glasses non-transparent and reflective so it can do exactly what oculus can, plus what it normally does. So it's 2 devices in 1. Outward projection, and inward. And where did you get you'd have to look at a single point? You can freely move your head in 6dof.
  21. What made my head explode was when she showed the clip-on that reflects the projection back into your eyes. With the outward projection, they're bringing a part of the virtual reality into the real world. Which is perfect for simulation and those board games. But most of pc/console gamers want to be fully immersed into the virtual world. And with the clip on they covered both markets. I'd say oculus rift just became obsolete.
  22. Wow! I only thought of simulation projection, and was worried about the popularity of this thing... now seeing the board game implementations... you can't go wrong with dragons today apparently :) This thing is gonna be huge!
  23. Had to google that one. Another thing I have educated myself on browsing through these forums. Feeling real smug right now :smartass:
