  1. Basically, gather your own dev team. Make a DCS level module. Start selling... do NOT put it on sale. See how better you do then the modules that are on sale. Bankrupt team. Come here and apologize for being an expert financial manager without the expertize and insight to back it up.
  2. 1. The grips will be as simple as it is with the current Warthog grip, just attach/detach. I could produce those now, but not in perfect finish quality, and not in larger quantities, and I don't want any compromises. The throttles are a different story. It would require dissembling a 450$ unit, and that's not the smartest way to go about it. So they'll probably be a separate add on. Expensive? We'll see :D 2. By the beginning of 2014 I'll be making my first prototypes. There will maybe be some open beta testing :) I wouldn't count on any finished products until later in the year, Maybe even 2015. I don't want to get tied up into making single orders, because I could do that even now. I want to have tooling and production processes figured out and done. So I can make a thousand pieces, box them, and have them ready to go when needed. That's the only way to have them at consumer prices. 3. I want replicas, so you'll have replicas. 4. Prototypes will be of the lowest quality, something like seen in the picture I posted before. The printer I'm building is capable of surface finishing that can rival that of injection molded parts. Everything that's plastic in real life will be plastic made by me. But you can see the difference in wall thickness in something like a cheap "made in china" joystick and a real F-15 grip Geneb posted. Plastic can still be heavy-duty. Everything will be made in heavy duty plastic resin. If it's metal in real life, I'll offer metal replicas, at higher prices. 5. http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3782056/Rudder_pedals_prototype_1_poss#Post3782056 Best pedals money can buy right now, outside of russian VKB which are full metal, but don't ship outside Russia? and cost about 2-3 times as much.
  3. What happened to SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY? Now you're acting like we're stealing something from you. I bought the Huey on sale, never even downloaded it. I'll throw 20$ at the Mi-8 without a thought, won't install it either. So you better be happy your cherished developer is taking money on all sides and surviving in this niche of a niche market.
  4. Haha, the wolf pack was starving, about to turn on themselves. So they threw us a bone. Alright, we'll chew on that for a couple of days :)
  5. Yeah, and sometimes he changes it to an A-10, so they must be working on that one too... oh wait a minute.
  6. Yep, and were full of 20-something crew that brought them back, and went up, time and time again. How's that for courage.
  7. Hm... so the first images and videos of EDGE in a long time (or ever?) are released from a developer of... WWII content. Think about that one. All you worried about ED getting into WWII. And you can bet your ass the first dedicated server will be WWII. Maybe even multi-crew... WWII is gonna help us all get what we want, and some things might never get done without it, so go on and pledge to DCS WWII: Europe 1944. Even if you never intend to fly s single WWII aircraft.
  8. Oh.. I see what you did there Luthier. Divide et impera, my friends. Or should I say, confudamus et impera :) I like this! Basically don't pledge less than a 100 because you don't know what you're gonna get. 200 if you wan't to be on the safe side, and a 1.000 just to be sure. Screw those perfec campaignes, Star citizen... perfect this, perfect that... This is fun! Can't wait for tomorrow :) P.S. I'm not even joking
  9. It would be a dream come true if they only announced ONE. Just don't make it free, and then ask for a money raising campaign.
  10. We're not complaining because people will get it for free and we had to pay for it. We're complaining because of all those lost pledges. Had it not been totally free, we could have hit some of the stretch goals.
  11. Oh it's all getting made, A,B and C. It's just a matter of who can afford what.
  12. plan A: 3d printed grips pass my torture tests Most affordable option. If that fails plan B: print molds for plastic casting this one can't fail, but will be a bit more expensive production and plan C: print master molds for metal casting. Most expensive option.
  13. Not when you have a DLP resin based printer/printers that prints with the same speed no matter how many pieces you put in there. Which is what I'm building with the Makerbot and a CNC machine. Only prototypes will be printed with FDM process, since it'll be available straight away.
  14. Yeah I know. Fixed it, put a question mark on mine, so mine's a rhetorical one too now :) KG13 A&B will be the very first ones out of the printer.
  15. Is that a question? :)
  16. Hi! I'm working on a production of replica grips and throttles. It's been a long road, and you can read more about it here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1869959#post1869959 Inspired by an awesome initiative by ATAG_bliss and his MFG crosswind giveaway: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=113343 i have decided to promise to give away all of my test examples. Everything from non functional shape tests (which can be used as pedestal pieces), replacement grips, up to fully functional hotas sets. So, a bunch of non functional pedestal pieces to pledges of 10$+, a couple of functional replacement grips for pledges of 40$+, and one full hotas setup for pledges of 100$+: pledgers choice of aircraft, doesn't have to be WWII. And possibly a metal casting for a hotas of choice for pledges of 200$+. All you have to do is, make a pledge, register and drop a screenshot here:http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.co...ead.php?t=5635 Those of you who don't post on the ATAG forum, cand do so here, but there's an extra chance for a set of rudder pedals if you do. Unfortunately, there's no way for me to do some prototypes before the end of the kickstarter campaign, so a promise is the best I can do at the moment...
  17. OK here's the plan. I decided to go all the way. I'll be getting a 3d printer and a desktop CNC by February 2014 the latest. If most things go according to plan, much sooner. That will in turn help me make a laser metal cutter, laser plexi cutter and engraver, and a different / more advanced 3d printer for large volume production. And a bunch of other machinery. So, by February 2014 I should be making prototypes like these: ↑↑↑↑ These are my models, made by a similar 3d printers. Just basic mockups to check the shapes. Just some of the planned grips and throttles: After I do the prototypes, send some out for testing, then a kickstarter for buying material and electronics in bulk. And then... production time :) Now, I'll be making lots and lots of test prints. Everything from non functional shape tests (which can be used as pedestal pieces), replacement grips, up to fully functional hotas sets. I would like to offer these test prints as a gift to those who pledge to support the DCS WWII kickstarter: So, a bunch of non functional pedestal pieces to pledges of 10$+, a couple of functional replacement grips for pledges of 40$+, and one full hotas setup for pledges of 100$+: pledgers choice of aircraft, doesn't have to be WWII. And possibly a metal casting for a hotas of choice for pledges of 200$+. Unfortunately, there's no way for me to do some prototypes before the end of the kickstarter campaign, so a promise is the best I can do at the moment... All you have to do is, make a pledge, register and drop a screenshot here: http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=563 Those of you who don't post at ATAG forum, can post a screenshot here, but there's a chance for an extra set of rudder pedals if you do so at the ATAG forum.
  18. No drastic measures needed. Make the spitfire the only free module. And put new awards so that everyone moves up :) 31$ for 1 aircraft, 51$ for two, 76 for three etc. And higher rewards for future content. Like 200$ gets you 3 aircraft for Europe 1944, and 4 aircraft from the future installment.
  19. It has been stated that it's getting made no matter what. Even if the kickstarter fails, just a little bit later and without some of the bells and wistles. So really, no risk in not pledging at all. Exactelly. They'll get my 40$ no matter what, and i won't regret it. But they won't get the backing of the hundreds and thousands that could easily afford 10-40$ but won't because it'll be free.
  20. Oh I'm pledging. He could openly say he might throw the money on drugs and alcohol for all I care :D The best WWII guys in the business, and the makers of the most popular sim ever made?? That's a no brainer. But I feel sad for all those monies it could have gotten had it not been totally free. But I think I see it. It's a long term strategy. They're counting on all the players that will stick with them once they see (for free) how awesome a study level WWII will be, even the naysayers. Still, they could have invested a 100 grand of their own and made it free. Not throw a hot potato in the hands of the most dedicated fans.
  21. And so that all the naysayers and the thrashers get the chance to play the game for free. Not really appealing. Actually, more like penalizing devoting fans, and rewarding the thrashers.
  22. The questions are too hard!
  23. I'd have no problem with ads during intro or something like that, if it would bring us some of the stretch goals. Of course, ad pop-ups during dogfights would be another story. That would require at least a million :)
  24. Is the atag forum down for anyone else? I can't seem to access it...
