Is the game being run as administator and such? The fact that renaming the settingsfolder makes a change in situation is alot more than braindead. It almost sounds like something else on your machine denies access without mentioning it to you. A step further is check settings in your bios and let your cpu and memory run wihtout all those nifty extra options. Check clockspeeds too, is it all setup to specs? Default doesn't always mean it's the right setting. Personaly i always have to set my memory to 1600 Mhz manualy for instance.

What is the deal with "Connection Interrupted" ?
BRooDJeRo replied to Spasticatedtoad's topic in Multiplayer Issues
In my experience below 200 ping is fine, above it starts to get meh. 3/10 of a second is pushing it. For northern europeans the US east coast servers are fine and around 130-135 ping. West coast is generaly between 180-300. For me the boundry is pretty much US east coast, Russia, North Pole and borderzone Middle East like Turkey, Marocco, Egypt and Tunesia. I think Saudi Arabia and such go through Kuala Lumpur before those connections reach europe and end up with 600-900 ping. -
Theres a settingsclash under general keybinds and the chat shortcuts of the individual aircraft you fly. So you need to config in 'general' keybinds AND the aircraft keybinds. Every little thing in DCS has its own keybindspage. I think general settings are used when you're a spectator and not in any module. They most likely will not delete the thread. Some other people might have the same problem and would like to know the answer. At this doctor we al get to see you naked. So what did you do to solve it?

No problem Foobolt, glad to help. I still think japanese is an amazing language in writing. How many characters does it have by now?

Although it seems to be created too like that. It can still be a notepad-burp or did you open the logfiles with notepad++? What is the particular missionname of the original campaign what belongs to these logs you presented? I can start and stop the mission, see what is different in the log. I'm not so sure if these spaces have something to do with it. Don't think so. Also with the DCS reinstallation, did you overwrite/repair the 2010 C++ installation present already or did you manualy delete it and manualy install it? Did you run the DirectX package install too? Have you concidered a hardwaredriver freshup to be sure and rule that out? Turn off antivirus and firewall fully for a moment with services stopped etc. Rule out as much as you can and use minimal DCS settings.

I saw your reference to the temperal missionfile being logged with a space between tempMission and .miz, in my logs the reference is without a space. Your file: \AppData\Local\Temp\DCS\tempMission .miz My file: \AppData\Local\Temp\DCS\tempMission.miz Did the space occur when you copy n paste it to the forum or is it originaly in the me.log file?

Norton, great 2 stroke racingbike from the 70's.

This is starting to be a very interesting post, almost for 007 eyes only. :D CNN: Al Shabaab developes suitable countermeasures on information gathered from a die-hard edu-sim bulletin board to avoid fightercraft attacks.

Read this post of the year. Your answer is literaly in the first line of the new DCS features. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=101963

Jep, it seems we will be landing F15's granny-style for the time being.
-
OK....homework. The main landinggear looks fine, but the nosewheel doesn't seem to know groundlevel when you let the nosewheel go down right away and the main gear follows. It doesn't break, but disapears into the ground. There's also no message that the aircraft has crashed. Once the aircraft is on its belly, the landinggear is gone. In some cases the aircraft starts vibrating heavily and stops 10-20 seconds after you shut down the engines. To make a good landing you need to keep the nosewheel up a couple of extra seconds and it will not vanish into the ground. It's only a slight bit in the ground while the main gear is not. At very low speeds, without flaps, you can still flare the nose up while that shouldn't be possible. Here's also a missionfile with an ideal aproach on Vody, 25% fuel and nothing else in wheight that can be controled. Track and relevant logfiles included. Hatsaflats!

Dcs 1.2.3 update caused Multiplayer connection problems!
BRooDJeRo replied to Lumax's topic in Multiplayer Issues
Is your connectionsetting on 'LAN'? And if it is, did you try to use the DCS 'repair' function? -
Does the drive make extra sexy noise?

For true support you go to the bugs and problems section yes. Inhere it's just the very very very pretty people.

Can i use a joystick in Simcity to fly around my city during an F5 tornado?
-
Hmm, good one.... i'm reading things that aren't there. Awesome! I'm going nuts finaly.
-
For me it didn't matter. Fully loaded or without load and a 25% filled internal fueltank. I still have to do a few more landings to see if turning off 'permit crash rcvr' did the trick for me, but i don't have time to play DCS at this very moment. Sofar it's looking good, but try to not be too hopefull.

It's known too that SSD defragmentation without proper cooling can overheat it resulting in what you have now. Windows has autodefrag on by default, but can ruin SSD's when not properly cooled. This is a common reason why SSD's fail. Specialy when it's an earlier generation. A simple 10 euro fan solves it pretty much. The more expensive and newer generation SSD's have better heatprotection. An SSD is nothing more than series of EEPROM's with a fast interface. An USB stick on steroids. How warm does your USB stick get when you use it to lets say watch a movie? An SSd has no moving mechanical parts so its only enemy is heat. A decent fan on your SSD also doubles the SSD's lifespan. Is the scedualed defragtime during the period you were gone?

Lock on Gold to Lock on Flaming cliffs 2
BRooDJeRo replied to tonyuk's topic in Lock On v.1.0x and Flaming Cliffs v.1.1x
FC3 is an aircraft addon for DCS World. DCS World is the engine FC3 needs, theres no going around it. DCS world is devided into 4 files, because it would create 1 large file otherwise. It's somewhat like RAR or ZIP where you split large packed files so it fits certain media or to battle file corruption. Perhaps it's also done for the people that have bandwidthlimits and can spread the download over a couple of days or weeks so they can still send an email at the end of the day. I'm using an X52 and i'm certain that you DO want to use the software that comes with it so you can use the 'banks' that come with the stick. DCS doesn't do that for you. Let the stick axis be controlled by DCS and use the keyboard config in DCS to program your X52 software in layers. Delete all other preconfigured X52 entry's in DCS exept those controll axis like X, Y, rudder and 'trottle both'. The standard assigned keys in DCS for your X52 stick won't do what you want it to do and are often in the wrong position. DCS recognises your stick, but doesn't fully pre-configure a X52. When it does on the HOTAS then concider yourself lucky. -
The older 1.2.2 version is deleted and the newer one for 1.2.3 can be found here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=102027&page=2

Massive FPS loss with two monitor setup DCS 1.2.3.9871
BRooDJeRo replied to Biggles07's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
What happens when you only use one monitor? Is the problem still there when you do? -
When i monitor the landing with the F10 view i see the gear disapearing into the ground like it thinks groundlevel is lower than visualy is the case. When the F15 rubs it's belly on the ground it suddenly seems to remember where the ground is. I don't see the gear visualy break. I had a similar problem too on the A-10C on previous versions. The same solution, turning off the crash rcvr made it go away. It resulted mostly in having a flat front tire on take-off or landing without any reason, but this seems and feels different. But, for now it's better/non-exitant with 'permit crash rcvr' off.
